This comp has really helped me reevaluate The Burning World. Such a remarkably beautiful record, it's a damn shame it's so widely panned, especially by Gira himself.

Much of this album is from The Burning World, which I believe you could find a pretty cheap copy of. I found it in a record store two years ago for five dollars.

My guess would be because Michael Gira isn’t a huge fan of this era of Swans. The Burning World record (much of this compilation) in its entirety is also completely missing from streaming services. I love the music, though, don’t know why he’s so hard on it
