The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq5 N Is A Mind Bogglingly Quick Electric Hot Hatch With German Vibes

  • As electric vehicles become more accepted, enthusiasts looking to get into the space without the numb one trick pony nature of fast EV's can now rejoice because #Hyundai has created the ultimate electric hot hatch with this 2025 #Ioniq5N. The #HyundaiIoniq5N brings the heat to the segment with up to 641 HP from its dual electric motors and its also the first EV that does a very convincing impression of a gas powered sports car, complete with gear changes and pop and crackles from its fake exhaust system. It will truly blow your mind and make you question your perception of quick EV's.

The Ioniq 5 N can do a nurburgring lap, fast charge, then do another nurburgring lap with zero overheating of the motor, battery, or brakes. New Model 3 Performance brakes heated 1/4th through the first lap and by the end of the first lap the car was cutting power by 50%. Ioniq 5 is definitely better in many weighs. The batteries in this car are the most expensive on the market right now and contain batteries that are built with the latest technology that is technically advanced.
    As a result, they are offered incredibly cheaply in terms of price-to-performance, and as a result, the track is made easy to turn.
    Even with regen braking, the system is equipped with technologies that can take in 0.6g resistance, charge the receiving power instantaneously, and with that power, reduce battery heat. No manufacturer has ever reached this level of technology. So the price of this car is incredibly affordable. These are the areas that car CZcamsrs are missing because they don't understand

    it does offer a panoramic sunroof, but obviously not in the USA - in Germany we can get it with panorama, shades and heated rear seats (ventilated front seats are option). But why you would order the panoramic sunroof? Hyundai made 42 additional welded points for making the car more stable - and you would buy a panoramic sunroof then? no, you just dont do that in a car like this. Plus: Bierman retired this year. This was his last, but fantastic baby. I personaly think that the Ioniq5n is the absolute best EV you can buy now. Not the EQS AMG, not the Taycan either, Hyundai rocks. And this comes from a Mercedes V12 owner.

    as a former GTI driver that would love to play with the paddles... this thing rules. but it's 66k... not sure if it gets the tax credit, probably does.... i just bought a 2024 model 3 dual motor, 4.2 to sixty feels fast af... 3.06 in this is nutty... and the model 3 performance is the one i wanted, even faster... but again, expensive... after instant lease credit you're into model 3 dual motor for $42,500, high finance charge yes, but easy buying experience.
    maybe one day we'll get to the point where shifting on EVs (dual clutch experience) becomes reality because transition tech advances to be as instant as EV power delivery today and multiply torque (engineers does my math math here?), provide more experience people are used to, etc. I'm for some kind of sound or visual just for hooning. Also, more EVs need to just have full TC OFF. That feels like all my model 3 dual motor needs to be a drift machine (in the rain at the very least).

    Ironically, despite this engine exhaust sound and transmission feeling being a digital produced experience, to quote what Alex Roy said recently in a Bloomberg Hot Pursuit podcast about this feature in the 5N, actually helps to make it an analogue experience. Just as a heart beat vibration and sound is to a runner. I can’t wait to give it a test drive.
    The only downside is in the active noise and gear shift reproduction mode, it is 0.5 seconds slower to 0-60 than in the silent mode. But who wants to drive in a straight line playing w the paddles anyways? It’s for the twisties anyways! 3 seconds silent vs 3.5 seconds mimicking a F1 style transmission is no biggie.

    Great video good detail review. I like everything Hyundai did in this car , they set a great trend that ev can replace combustion engine and can be great track car. I like how the interior is similar to cars we are use to unlike tesla that is like completely different tech to our usual car. I wish Hyundai put gear knob for that n shift instead of padle shift. I even like how they made it hard roof without sunroof as I was crazy about sunroof until I bought my mk6 golf r with sunroof and find myself never open it as in summer you don't want sun and in winter it's too cold and in reality it's useless but just another tech that will cost you when fail. Only down side is price. Especially when it's directly compared to m3p it should at least be similar price or cheaper as I want more competition. Power wise tesla still pick quicker but Hyundai catches up according to carwow even on roll race Hyundai beat m3p which is incredible but for the price Hyundai put Especially in Australia Hyundai is at 110k tesla m3p is 80k it's 30 k different which makes Hyundai shortlisted and straight buy for tesla . I believe in Hyundai and their work and they will find a way to get it done at cheaper price as this is their new product. Keep it up Hyundai I actually like the look and everything in your car except price 😊

I'd still get it if they decide not to bring it to the US, but hoping they will in next year's model as an option. My only other wish would be to have different ICE sounds outside of a 2.0l 4 cylinder. If it's digital, why not add in a v8, v10, v12? Heck, why not add in a early 2000s era F1 v10? It's not like you'd have to worry about reliability and the stress of actual high revs!

    • @Iceeeen
      @Iceeeen Před měsícem +5

      I really would like to know why some people moan about some stupid power seats. I have it at the moment in a car and it's honestly stupidly annoying if anyone else has used it since they are so slow to move back to my position (same goes for the power tailgates, so sloooooow). WIth a manual seat you spend a second and it's back where you want it.
      + on the ioniq it's there for a reason, they where able to lower the seating position a lot.
      same with the sunroof, or even worse those stupid glas roofs, high center of weight with the risk of leaking not to talk about if the glas cracks on it. the price to replace it is just astronimical and real risks of totaling just a a couple of years old car.
