Thanks so much to everyone who liked and shared this video! Feel free to check out my brand new free tutorial on (as requested...) the playing style of Mateus Asato! czcams.com/video/4fhGbNWHXPM/video.html
you know I have been playing since 2 years right now. I create myself a schedule (but I am not sure is the right one) mainly to improve my legato and alternate picking, learning music theory and so on but still I feel there is something missing and precisely how to connect all what I have learned in a way that I can pick up a guitar and do something original. I was wondering if you give private lessons on Skype lets say, because I really need someone to asses my level and tell me in which direction to go. My aim is to reach your current level.
Ross Campbell you have some of the lamest tattoos
@@LoveRocketsable Yeah, but the shirt's cool...pfft...no it isn't.
Punten kang... tiasa basa sunda teu?😥
Thank you much
No bullshit, no nothing, straight to the point with explanation and application. Thumbs up and sub.
Thank you!
You’re a guitarist, Harry.
rapisor I wish I knew some spells so I could make a joke which relates
rapisor You're a potter rapisor...
I'm a what?
guitar-induced scoliosis
Hendrixtriada!!!!
That is the cleanest fretboard I've ever seen in my life
Great lesson, Ross. I love the fact that you played this lesson on Hendrix and Frusciante, two of the most famous Strat players, on a Tele. It sounded great.
2019 and Frusciante is back with the boys i cant believe it....Long Live Frusciante!!!

Hey I am an old guy that has been playing guitar for ever. You really are taking your time to show just what you are doing. You are the first one I've seen adding the small photos of what notes you are playing. I can always see what notes they are playing until I fiddle around a bit. Good job. 2 thumbs up.
Chuck Lawson Thanks Chuck!
Wooow some negative commenters here. Love the lesson - you have a wicked teaching style. Clear and to the point. Very helpful lesson mate. THANK YOU
Nice intro to the universe of learning that is studying Hendrix's technique. I like that last riff... I've just been looking at Jimi's _rhythm_ playing for the last few months - the guy was a total genius.
I'm glad you pointed out the inversions. A ton of lessons on YT fail to even mention them. R,3,5...3,5,R...5,R,3.
This is a really straight forward and accessible way to begin explaining basic music theory...keep up the good work
Thanks very much for creating this lesson!
I've been learning guitar since January of this year and so far; everything you've shown is really helpful on moving forward. Never stop doing what you're doing because i'm never gonna stop learning till the day i die. Producers like you help so many of us new players learn things we'd possibly never think about.
🎸
I bought your online guitar course and it is AMAZING, theory is so easy to understand and I feel like I am actually making progress , unlike most of the time I've played lately. You're an excellent teacher and an excellent player. Thank you so much Ross for helping me fall in love with the guitar again!
I first heard Hendrix when I was in my late teens in Augusta, GA. I had gone to almost every R&B show at the Bell Auditorium for three or four years before that. I still play almost every single day and with a lot of emotion..
I'm glad you're keeping this stuff alive; it's good stuff.
LexLuthier1 Yo Lex,I used to go to wrestling matches at the Bell Auditorium in the mid 1970's,first heard of Hendrix in South Augusta,I went to Barton Chapel Elementary School. A friend of mine had the Album Are You Experienced.
I've played longer than you were born 73 les paul here. You teach me things I failed to learned in theory but know enough to follow you.
Thank you so much for putting in a time stamp. Quality lesson all around.
Clear, concise and practical - really gelled the mess of information I have been watching elsewhere, and used the song example that helps the most to practice effectively. Hours of fun ahead thank you Ross.
Good lord, can't believe how quickly this transformed my rhythm playing and all it took was applying the triads and their inversions. Have known them for a while, but I've never had any way to apply them up until now. Seems the only way to really pick up on theoretical concepts is to apply them practically. Thank you very very much for sharing this. This has been an immense help.
Excellent lesson! Thanks 😊
I find lessons like this very helpful, where one simple, bite-sized concept is introduced and applied in a couple of contexts. Just this one idea has so many useful applications.
Glad you got value from it!
2nd video of yours I've watched. Nice to see a fellow Scot making his way to Internet success using nothing but his raw talent and clear communication teaching skills.
I've been playing a long long time but I'never say I know it all.
Makes this Glasgow boy wish I was back home to jam with you and hire you for gigs and lessons.
I live overseas now.
All the best pal. Hope it keeps growing for you.
Great video! Love your tone!
Mad respect for this guy, been doing his course on Udemy and I've learned more with him over the past 2 weeks than I have on my own for a whole year.
Same, man! Have been playing guitar for 20 years now, in 4 hours I learned more from him than I did in 20 years. I could play the guitar, but mostly just play what other artists created, practicing for hours to be able to recreate Hendrix songs, without really understanding what I was playing or why it had to be played there, it was always very frustrating and every time I tried to learn theory it was very boring and without being applied to the instrument, which was maddening and hard to understand. This guy is a genius as a player but mostly as a teacher, it's so easy to understand and every 10 minutes I'm having an eureka moment "THAT'S THE REASON OF THIS BEING PLAYED THERE", damn, haven't been this excited to study the guitar since I started playing it.
Going to look
How am I only discovering this channel now?! So well explained. Compared to others trying the same thing.
I got a lot out of this, and I’m no noob.

You're super inspirational, dude. I wish I had dedicated more time to learning theory like this, but it's never too late! Thank you.
Very cool. Just suscribed. easy to follow and I love these triad shapes and inversion stuff.
Great lesson!
Ross you're an incredible musician please keep them coming I learn so much and been playing longer than you been born
Apart from mastering that guitar like a genius , you are one of the best teachers I’ve seen online very happy to ran into your vids thank you
Hello from France. Thank you for this video ! You made me work this trick ... it was a bit hard at the beginning, but after an hour or two trying hard, I succeeded. Your explanation is clear.
This trick has something so smooth inside, I love it !
Great lesson, thanks!
Even more inspiring than the last video of yours that I just watched. I've seen & heard all of these concepts in the past. I never was able to completely grasp them until watching your no nonsense straight to the point take on them. It's so much easier to understand when you have someone who has a firm grasp of the concepts explain it to you. I've watched a lot of other you tubers try & explain simple concepts like these but they make them sound like it's rocket science that they are not able to put into words, but here you are doing exactly what they fail to do. Thank you sir. This is very inspiring.
Thanks so much Matthew
You are a great teacher! Straight to the point! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thank you for the tabs!!
So easy, so intuitive. Very well explained! Thanks a lot! Awesome content!
Wow. You've been doing this a while! Your dedication is amazing.
Awesome lesson, So good !!! Ross. Great relaxed teaching style, keep em coming.
That is a well presented, clear, no nonsense lesson, well done.
Thanks for this. I've really been wanting to know how to get that sound. I hear it in all kinds of songs and never knew it was such a simple idea
Thanks so much!
Nice lesson bro, thanks!!
excellent video!
Great Lesson! My playing immediately sounds more advanced / interesting / fluid. It's so simple yet so effective. Glad I found your channel, gonna check out your course right away.
Congratulations, useful and clear!
Thanks man. You're awesome!
You are an excellent teacher. Thanks for explaining how Hendrix plays the chords with different inversions. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
Awesome man! Excited to explore that out a bit more 🤘🏽
Cool lesson man
You are a truly musician man. Keep going like this. Congratulations from Brazil.
Ross, thank you this is so awesome
I don't know what you do different from other instructional vids, but I get these techniques so clearly from your videos, well done man. Keep them coming!

This is a super good lesson in a context I can follow wow thanks
Wow, very nice. Well thought out and executed. You have a great touch too.
Thank you, Ross. Even though I've played guitar for ~30 years, I learn nice things from you. Just the right amount of teaching/playing for everything you do.
Awesome, thanks! :)
Cool video man..keep it up
What a fantastic lesson. Clearly explained and carefully demonstrated. Just the right balance of technique and theory. The slower example is very helpful. That is a model lesson
You changed my future with this video! Tanx
Helpful vid! thanks man
Wonderful lesson. Methodological and illustrated with examples. Thank you.
This is SO simple, yet brilliant. I'm guilty of chugging along using the same old chord shapes, but now I see how to mix in triads and short fills. Why this never occurred to me before, I'll never know. I'm currently working through Ross's Bulletproof Guitar 2.0 course and love it - many lightbulbs are finally coming on!
Yo man i love these videos. You explain things with not too much complexity but when u do u explain what ur talking about instead of assuming we are all music theory majors. And ur also very straight to the point. Meaning u dont for 5 minutes before beginning the lesson.
Thank you
Your quick explanation of inversions was fantastic. Cheers.
Glad you think so!
such a smooth teaching, glad it came in my recommendation.
Well done. Clear and to the point.
Awesome lesson. Thanks!

Dude you are great. Explain it so simple but not beginner level which is boring at most of us. Gosh you teach me a lot.
Thank you Ross. Clearly explained in your great relaxed style.

Thank you!
No matter what style you play you make it sound awesome !! Great job !!Thanks !!!😁
Thanks! I did not know about this trick.
Good lesson! I always loved that aspect of Jimi’s playing. Lot of soul / funk/ R&B guitarists use those moves too. Good stuff!
Excellent video, even a basic level player like myself can follow along. Very clear explanation! Please make more, they are great. Look forward to checking out your Bulletproof course.
Your lessons are great dude
