    Your videos are literally a life-saver for school. I'll read a concept, not understand it, and then watch your videos to really GET something. I don't have to memorize nearly as much now because your videos help me actually understand the concepts. THANK YOU!!

    Perfect lecture and explanation, I only have one correction :The atrioventricular valves are actually open before the atria start contracting,and 80 % of the blood flows passively through pressure differences in the ventricles.they only start contracting in the end so that they can „squeeze“ the rest 20% of the blood into the ventricles. Thanks for uploading greetings

    Better late than never, had a vague concept of how heart works, your video living up to Ak lectures motto, hepled me in grasping the CVS topic in short time, without any financial cost or loss of energy. Thanks fr saving from the academic redtapism .

    Why is P and QRS a depolarisation while T and U are repolarisation waves although all produce a positive deflection.

    • @Man_Aashiqe_sarmastam
      @Man_Aashiqe_sarmastam Před 3 lety

      p and QRS are positive cause increase in voltage takes place during depolarization of atria and ventricles but T-wave is positive as well because "the last cells to depolarize in the ventricles are the first to repolarize."

    Aren't the two AV valves already open, and the ventricles fill 70% by passive means then the atrial sístole pumps the remainder. Just thought I would throw that in there

    Why does repolarization of the ventricles(which is basically the decrease in membrane potential) causes an upward(positive) T wave ? Shouldn't it produce a downwardly(more negative) wave ?

  • @jkawalsky11
    @jkawalsky11 Před 7 lety +3

    I don't understand. I normally associate depolarization with an increase of voltage. But here there are points when it repolorizes but the voltage increases. For instance the T and U waves. Why does the voltage increase for repolorization?

    • @rosa33942
      @rosa33942 Před 7 lety

      the T is in repolarization representing the ventricles after contraction,,,compared to the QRS ...they have a charge but its reduced.....I think!! lol

    • @BrolicG
      @BrolicG Před 7 lety +3

      I don't think depolarization is an increase in voltage, rather, I think it is a decrease in voltage. voltage is the potential difference between two charged 'things'. so when a cell membrane depolarizes, it approaches 0 mV (no potential difference), so voltage is decreasing, not increasing. except when it hyperpolarizes, it not only approaches 0 mV but goes beyond to the positive side, still increasing the potential difference after it had decreased (gotten to 0 mV).
      i hope i made sense.

    Guys can anyone explain to me what is happening in the heart strictly between the blue R and the green Q segment. Is that atrial repolarization? Or is it something that needs to happen in order to see ventricular depolarization? Or both? Lol...this question is killing me plz help!
