That hit on Evans on the empty net goal wasn’t dirty in my opinion it wasn’t late he was looking up ice so knew it was coming that shouldn’t of been 5 mins. Maybe 2 for charging but even that is a stretch he was a puck carrier coming from behind the net I don’t know why Evan’s didn’t brace for the hit.

@@bdc1319 He was sprinting up the ice full speed before the hit. Sure, he stopped taking strides half a second before he made contact so he didn’t kill him but when your going that fast it doesn’t matter. Not to mention that he didn’t even look at the puck the entire way. If he prevented the goal you could maybe try to debate the suspension but the goal had already been scored by the time he hit him. There was also head contact which is a big no, no.
I hate fighting in hockey as much as I love hockey. And I hate the fact that there are videos devoted to fighting and that violence is given a prominent place in hockey highlights.

the game was way slower in the 80s and 90s its more dangerous than its ever been which is why guys are so defensive. easy to say hits are clean on replay, most open ice collisions look enormous today
