THIS WILL MAKE \YOUR TRANSMISSION RELIABLE is an important part of preventive maintenance that you can do on your own. A few basic tools and a few minutes of your time is all that is necessary to change your manual transmission gear oil. Knowing how to do it on your own can save you precious time and money. Doing it yourself will also give you a sense of satisfaction and peace of mind from knowing that your car actually received the proper care it needs. No more second guessing as to whether the mechanic or service center actually changed the manual transmission gear oil or not.

Great video and very helpful but why not use GL-5 75w-90 instead of GL-4 and which better?
Thanks! Good question, by the way.. The primary difference between API GL-4 75w-90 and API GL-5 75w-90 gear oils lies in their intended applications and additive formulations.
GL-4 is recommended for manual transmissions with yellow metals (like bronze and copper) and bear less load. The type of additives in GL-4 makes it suitable for synchronized transmissions, such as used in the car model in my video.
In contrast, GL-5 is designed for heavy-duty applications such as differentials, containing more extreme pressure additives for enhanced load-bearing capacity.
To know which one is "better" would depend on the specific requirements of the transmission or gear system you are using it for - paying particular attention to factors like copper and bronze metal components and the level of stress the gears are subjected to.
If GL-5 is used in trannys with bronze and copper synchros, you can expect accelerated wear and tear on these components due to GL-5's more aggressive additives. Hence, my choice of using GL-4 for the synchronized transmission of the car in my video.

This is a 2015 Toyota Vios/Yaris 1.3E.
For corolla, it depends on the year & model but it is about 2.5L - 3L.

@@ipmann100 this car has a 5-speed manual gearbox like the Verso's manual tranny, but the gear ratios are slightly different. This car's first gear ratio is slightly higher than the Verso's.

Boss, tumitigas din ba ang clutch pedal pag low na ang fluid ng manual transmission oil?
Pwede po maging factor, pero mas lamang po na dahilan ang maling clutch adjustment, problema sa clutch master/slave cylinder; problema sa clutch fork, pressure plate, clutch disc, etc.

@@justinedownloader kung kapapalit lang sir, best option ay ibalik dun sa gumawa para macheck nila lahat at maiayos. Hindi normal na gumanit agad pedal kung kapapalit lang ng mga clutch components. Meantime pwede mo din po subukan iadjust ang clutch bite point at freeplay kung sobra taas o baba ng pedal then observe mo po kung may improvement. kung sumubra sa lagay ng oil anong pwede mang yari sa tranny .kasi minsa sa top hole sila nag lalagay almost. liters so base sa linagay niyo dun sa side nut 1.9 liter lang so npakarmi ang subra .meron pobang masisira sa tranny?
Pwede po maging sanhi ng foaming, dragging at oil leak pag sobrang dami ng langis. Yun pong butas gaya nung pinakita ko sa video ang tamang fill hole para maiwasan ang overfilling kasi kusang aawas ang langis sa fill hole pag naabot na nya ang tamang level.

Ok pa po yan sir. Usually every 40,000 km po nagpapalit. Personal preference na lang po kung gusto nyo palitan ng mas maaga yung gear oil.

@@alifadd2172 It's possible, but when a car jerks during acceleration, it can be an indication of various underlying issues such as: fuel delivery problems, ignition system issues, air intake issues, malfunctioning MAF sensor, transmission problems, low transmission fluid level, engine misfires, vacuum leaks, ECU or electrical problems, etc... These are just some of the possible causes. It's important to take your car to a mechanic for a thorough diagnosis.
