Peter & Tim, absolute gold sharing that knowledge of Lake Tinaroo, thanks for explaining what your seeing as active feeding Barra, and identifying other species. Seriously, it’s hard to imagine Tilapia that thick in the Lake, incredible really. Look forward to seeing more of this kind of thing, especially how you read what’s actually on the Sounder, and your interpretation is spot on!
Caps look awesome, dare say I’ll have one on my noggin soon enough!

Tims' thoughts about Barra not eating tilapia can be confirmed, when in the late '90's, the eradication trial at Paradise Palms GC was abandoned. The tilapia were only getting bigger, AND, so were the Barra. Our Environmental Managers at time, put the Barra growth down to the Rainbow Fish and eels (perhaps even slow Cormorants and ducks) that were present in the five lakes. Took me a few weeks after Kim removed the Barras, but I managed to track the EM's down in WA for a debrief.

Love the shot of the barra at 2:45 fellas! Do you find barra travel much deeper during a hot midday but may rise on a cooler rainy day? Perfecting timing for Feb 1--open slather! From Parrot Cl

Some good screen shots there. I’m surprised none of the fish are catfish.
