There's this really weird, but super faint sound effect that gets played a couple times in the background at that part. It's tricky to pick out and honestly I don't know how to describe it, you just got to listen to it and see if you can hear it.
It's just when they realize how weird it actually sounds with that faint sound effect. I found it funny at least

Well put. Understanding that it is all vibration changes everything.
Beethoven would put a metal nail file in his mouth, and memorize the vibrations for each note. Since he could remember what those notes sounded like, he was able to write music fairly efficiently.

hear me out; artists do digital art, but on top of the drawing they have a layer that is covered in a white, so they can't see what they're drawing, but they can see *where* they're drawing. pretty much the same sort of challenge as this video.

A cool way to continue this would be to have everyone redo this while able to listen to it so we can hear what everyone heard in their heads for this idea, and the contrast between the two examples... idk just an idea
The funny thing is that each person thought their own piece was terrible while everyone else thought it was good

The thing I love about all these compositions is their diversity and strength in character that was still projected through the music despite the auditory disconnect
Dave taught me so much throughout my musical journey. Still in love with using reason because of him. Glad to see all of you working together :)
Notice how most of the lulz they have when listening to Andrew's, Dave's and Roomie's tracks come from the timbre of the sounds chosen. That's exactly why Rob's track sounds so amazing - everyone else was busy picking samples and tweaking synth settings on their DAWs, and the effects are hilarious. Rob just fired up Guitar Pro, picked generic metal presets for all the tracks and just focused on writing the tabs. He was essentially just composing, while everyone else was also producing. It's a big difference.
That's not meant to disrespect Rob's composition skills, which are obviously insane. In fact, all four of you did a great job for what it was. But I think it's worth noting why Rob is so different to everyone else.

If you think about it, that's almost how all classical composers made their orchestral works, because, you know, they couldn't play all the instruments at once so they had to rely on their imaginations to "hear" what they were writing.

annyongpanda To be fair, most composers had a piano for reference. Beethoven is an exception, though, he was deaf. Be somehow managed to write beautiful music, even though he couldn't hear anything.
Even though they had a piano for reference there were no way they could play all the melodies and chords from every instruments at once. Besides that, the sound of a violin , a flute or a tuba is very different from the sound of a piano. And what about the percussion instruments? There is no way they could play the "notes" of those instruments with the piano.
