Two questions: why, and how....
thejester10276 muahahahaha
ist not so difficult, after 3 Years of playing i think i can do this with practising.
@@toilsmovies2485 you definitely won't even sound decent pay attention to the range and articulations you're going like 5 ledger lines below the staff even some of the best players struggle with this piece it's not as simple as you think
Toils Movies boi get out of here 😂 i’m going to college for tuba and i can’t even begin on what and how to tell you there is NO possible way you could play this after only 3 years of playing lol
@@toilsmovies2485 Owch, 2 years in and I am only good enough to play Tuba Rhapsody Claire Grundman :\
H-how?? Those jumps are crazy!! I've never seen anything like that before
What an incredible interpretation of this piece. Very cool!
The only thing that could make this solo harder than it is is playing it on a Bb Tuba...
I'm going to be playing this for my college audition on a Bb tuba.
Joe Maldonado As a tuba player who's only been playing for two years, I'd say that's crazy ballsy. I'm trying my luck with The Elephant by Saint Saens. Good luck! And if it past, I hope you got in!
Jose Vasquez I love the elephant so much!!! How did it go?
You're an absolute madman
@@joemaldonado9642 how did it go?
my father played the tuba......every sunday morning........
Ulf Utstrand plays*
The tone quality is great and the octave is 👌
Umm yeah, this will challenge anybody's octave skill
Extraordinary ending. Brings me to tears.
The ending expresses Polish idiom 'spierdalaj' and English 'fuck off'.
Wow. Cool piece, really excellent performance.
I love this contrast between traditional melody and interval jumps.
ALL OF THAT IN ONE MEASURE?!?!?
More so that this composition doesn't have a time signature to begin with, so there aren't any "measures" to divide the music into. This is actually somewhat common in contemporary classical music. Heck, even Erik Satie did it with his Trois Gnossiennes
@@olipolygon He was just messin' around though
@@0live0wire0 and you're just fucking around!
@@sawomirmanikowski6742 I don't think you understood what I meant. The OP was messing around, not Satie or Bach.
It's just without measure
I must say, the articulation and color of his playing are new to me. I've never heard it played like this and it's curious to my ear. I'm not sure I like it. But I'll listen again in a few days - maybe I'm just in a mood.
But it's exactly what reads in score.
holy crap sir-well done
I play tuba for 3 years but this is not enough for 20 years. I wanted to play it but it did not work out
Obviously... This is a high level piece . You have to develop a lot of basic habilities in your playing in order to play this correctly 😂😂
this is insane
Bravo bravissimo Maestro. Very exacly playd very difficult but master piece. Thank you so mutch for this video.
TUBA :Rupert Gratz
Wolfgang Rabensteiner thanks
All good thanks!I enjoyed that!!
That is incredible
quite good ...
Who is performing this? It is the best performance I’ve heard of this piece!
Yours truly
No the best is Labeyrie’s
When I saw that E natural, I was like "I'm done"
This is a UGA audition song. I want to fucking die.
R.I.P Maestro!!!
All of that, and that was the end?!??
I think even the composer was feeling bad for the tubist, tried to give a small break at the end lol
It reminds to me Bela Bartok's Allegro Barbaro
You can hear so much of his 3rd symphony in this
super range
The last two notes sound like "fuck off", and morover, before that there is glissando sounding like Polish "spierdalaj" wchich means "fuck off".
Very dificult and great perfomance😮
Im in 8th grade and im playing variarions for the cobblers bench so i might be able to play this if i keep playing the tuba long enough
Keep playing! I started when I was 33 and now 35
De lo mejor que he escuchado en Plandemia....
no puedo describir con palabras lo que siento al escuchar el Tempo di vals... 2:35
Sounds like the wife after a curry
cool piece, might try to play it someday. Nowhere near good enough yet, though.
Mike Simpson how bout now
Everything else looked really hard then i see goddamn 16th notes😔
tuba life
Tuba Prince Boss theme
If u like this, then u should check out a tuba playing czardas
dat end doe
dang
He’s not playing it right now
Impossible
what is that line connecting the notes at the end of the piece?
It's a downward glissando
+davedrowsy thanks
Is that not just a beam for the two eighth notes
4:29 it's a glissando that follows the general contour of the line
I had to come and listen to this as soon as I heard COVID got our boy.
He did NOT die of Covid-19 -- he died of long illness not related to Covid. www.nytimes.com/2020/03/29/arts/music/krzysztof-penderecki-dead.html

Anyone know if there is a version of this for Bb tuba?
Tuba is a non-transposing instrument, as bass clef is a non-transposing clef.
James Stanton This version is made for f tuba. The high notes are almost impossible on Bb tuba. I think he was wondering if there was an arrangement that is lower in pitch.
Im sorry but thats not true
Matthew Pleger I play Bb tuba, these notes are simple to play with experience, it is just very hard to have the flexibility and endurance to play this and maintain style
czcams.com/video/DL2hEyBH_R4/video.html
It's possible~ Watch it around 4:24
BB flat, CC, or F tuba?
F for sure
Ive played it on my CC tuba its not impossible
Anyone know who is playing in this recording?
Who is playing on this recording?
как это вообще так можно сыграть!!!
This is a trombone, not a tuba
No sir it is not. It's a bass tuba. Either a F tuba or an Eb tuba. Which makes the high range a bit easier but its a tuba either way.
That definitely sounds like a tuba to me
xd
Well played! The piece is not my cup of tea.
funny
Performer?
Rupert Gratz
+The Music Stand Thanks!
@@themusicstand194tas wei
Yeah… no. Got anything like.. hot cross buns?
I dont mean to be an asshole....but is this supposed to sound good? Like props to the tubist holy shit this looks impossible to play, but like I dont understand how this makes anyone's ears happy. My opinion.
I think this piece is meant to show off skill and technicality rather than being soothing.
@@TarekMurray3 Yeah I should've noticed that. Thanks for clarifying.
fake reverb
So?
False, Your mom is
Those jumps are hilariously difficult
