This is a talented player. It seems to me, though, that her throwing mechanics will limit her ability to get a lot of zip on the ball. That is especially apparent in her throws from the outfield. I wish her good luck in achieving her softball objectives.
Great, work on her side arm, I had my side arm for awhile and its only good for double plays in the infield, I notice she sidearmed in outfield, which would make her arm hurt, work on extending the arm to throw over the ear not swinging your arm out to throw.
I noticed she has a great side arm throw... so my daughter throws exactly like your daughter and her coaches keep telling her she is throwing wrong and needs to be corrected??? What's your opinion on it? She throws accurate and hard with the sidearm but trying to throw over she has to stop and think a lot
She throws 3/4 and she has a gun, her primary positions for softball are catcher and shortstop, she throws a ton of girls out as a catcher, if she is accurate I would leave it alone she started over the top but has a better whip as she turned it into a 3/4 and is very accurate. When she plays baseball she is a top pitcher with amazing control and also plays shortstop and catcher in baseball. As long as your daughter follows through with her throw and stays grounded and ends moving forward toward her target and her arm does not hurt her I say let her stay what she is comfortable with just be sure she does the mechanics consistently as I described and she won't get hurt when they get lazy and don't follow through and what not that's when the athlete can hurt their arm. This video is a snippet of what my daughter does or how she throws, throwing a little short hand is because the players that she is throwing to are too close to gun it and coaches said to take it easy as nobody knew each other they didn't want anyone getting hurt. I know this was along time ago but just in case she still has this problem please fix her throwing mechanics! ‼️Throwing side arm is fine as long as you do it correctly as most shortstop do. Your child on the other hand has a bad habit of side arming the ball and then throwing from up top at the same time almost. If she continues to do this it will cause many arm problems in the future!
As an 16u player she did an amazing job on that field!

Question. Why is short stop going to the back of the bag instead of the front? Is there a certain reason?
So that she doesn't get in the way of the runner in a game best to make it a habit.

They give you a shirt but you can wear whatever else you want
