- A lot of the video is just Reeling/Powerfin swimming. You can (should) skip through those parts if you value your time and just wanna know how to catch the fish.
The Forebearer isn't particularly hard to catch, it's just extremely annoying, as the powerfin is very elusive.
You need a huge hook.
Get a conpas on your hook and give it to the powerfin. The powerfin will lead you to the forebearer and force it to bite. Then it's just about waiting while you reel the forebearer in.
The fish doesn't show up in catalog until you catch it, that's why it's secret.

It only has zoomies if you've caught it using a conpas.

It's not unused, it's obtained this way on purpose. The lack of description is also on purpose, the lore of the fish is in its name, forebearer means something like "Ancient ancestor".
