- In this video I will show you how to make an easy creeper farm in Minecraft bedrock 1.20 with this tutorial you can get an infinite gunpowder farm. I'm playing on bedrock edition 1.20 so if you play on mcpe, xbox, ps4, switch, or pc this tutorial will work too.
I Recommend building this farm on the field or you can find an ocean.

Just by reading all these comments and seeing how many people don't have it working but others do, I will say somethings that could be a problem if It doesn't work. You are probably in peaceful mode, there is probably a cave underneath you taking the rates away, there is probably some light left in the farm, just build the top platform bigger to block more light out, realms always tend to glitch that's probably why it sometimes doesn't work on a realm, you probably messed something up from placing the buttons and trapdoor wrong or building out of a block that mobs can't spawn on like slabs, glass, and leaves, you probably didn't build enough layers to get good rates, I saw many comments saying their rates were bad. To have good rates you need atleast 4 layers I recommend building 6 layers for the best rates. Lastly turn your simulation distance down to 4 when afking this greatly increase rates and makes the farm work sometimes if it isn't working. So the lesson to be learned here is the creator of the farm isn't always the problem you could've messed something up so don't always blame oink oink. You mean render distance by simulation distance right? If so, mine doesn't go lower than five. Any way to fix this?

i remade it 5 times I’ve try 3 different farms by 3 different people i'm in the middle of the ocean i do it perfectly and it still didnt work
on java you can replace the buttons with slabs to stop spider spawns

i did mine over land about 100 blocks from the nearest ocean, i only did 2 layers because me and my cousin are on a realm and want to keep achievements on so no cheats or anything, it’s a bit redundant to do in survival but it works like a charm, great tutorial and good job explaining!

@@sahilkadian4123 dosnt matter. The trap door is just there to shorten the height so zombies and skeletons can't spawn. You could could use 1 or more different types, just dont use iron.
This farm took me and my friend 5 hours but it was worth it in the end now we get so much gunpowder for rockets and other stuff thank you! Ps im an new subscriber

working in 1.19.3 Java, just replace the buttons with slabs and it will prevent spider spawns. wish i knew that before finishing the entire build, but its very effecient now with slabs.

Good job! Works pretty well in 1.19.41 Bedrock - playing on iPad. Had to decrease simulation distance from 8 to 4.

Amazing farm but for anyone not seeing any mobs spawn just light up mists around your base then turn your chunks down to 4 and they will start sqawning

Followed every step and it works like a charm. Turned my render distance down to minimum and they spawn frequently. Millions of creepers burn alive. Five stars!
Is render distance the same thing as simulation distance? Everyone says to turn the simulation distance down, but I don't see that option.
I'm on a realm btw.
Works for me, if it didn't work for you consider a few things. If you build it on land there's probably a large underground cave system directly underneath you stopping creepers from spawning where you want them to. If you built over the water and still aren't seeing success, you could either be too close to land or too close to the water and the drowned are keeping your creepers from spawning. Built mine with the kill chamber being 88 blocks high above the ocean.

I'm having a similar issue. My kill chamber is right above sea level. Do you know if making my afk area high up in the sky above my farm would fix things? Was planning on placing a conduit underneath my farm as well, to reduce drowned spawns

I built this at Y=280 and it works a charm on Normal difficulty.
It cost me 10+ deaths to falling and being exploded, many blocks, and my will to live.
But now I have unlimited gunpowder. Thank you!

idk why but this game doesnt feel fun on bedrock unless I treat hard as hardcore, in the sense that I only have one life then Ill quit, unless it was by a glitch or something unimaginably unpreventable, which has yet to happen. It makes everything I do feel much more worth it and risky, even though its just a mindset at the end of the day you should give it a try its fun.
Hey, what biome did you build yours above? and do u think the biome affects the creeper spawns? I build mine over a large body of water but I'm not getting any spawns
@@skyfire909 hard mode and be 13-25 blocks away afk from the creeper farm and you need to build out of cobble stone. If you did netherack you won’t get spawns

Although it was extremely annoying to build due to the amout of trapdoors on the ceilings, it is working extremely well and the materials is also easy to get. Im playing on my ps5 to the most updated version to this date. Thank you so much!

This was my most favorite video of 2022 because I had made 5 huge different creeper farms but non of those worked. Those farms wasted my resources, more than enough hard work and time. I had wasted 6-7 days making those and that was result - No gunpowder.

What makes a good AFK spot? I've seen other farms say to AFK way above or the one I made saying to AFK below. Mine is built way up above an ocean.
Some things i had to do different were trying out different sides of the farm to have a successful afk spot. There was a lot of caves underneath but torching them up specifically underneath the farm seemed to work. For better results i put walls up behind the spots i could see behind the farm from the afk spot. Needed at least a 100 block radius of fully lit land before seeing results. Even after seeing results it is not as much as i was hoping

Just a heads up general mob farms are also a great way to get gunpowder you get quite a few creepers and the occasional witch that can also drop gunpowder.

You can build a trident killer so you can get xp and use a looting sword if you wanted more gunpowder
you can stand near it with looting sword and it will work

It was pain in the ass to build. took me like 5 hrs but works great! Well, i did chuck down all the trees in minecraft to get the buttons and the trap doors but it was worth it. Ty man. Most pain ive had in minecraft to build this farm😂

How much stacks per hour for you?
Not exactly sure but I think I was getting about x400 per hour. I have well over a shulker full of fireworks now by afking for 1.5-2 hours so I’m pretty happy with it 🤷♀️
I was curious on how far you can take this so i did 12 rows and 4 towers in each direction with the afk spot in the dead center.... you dont need that much, especially cause i did this on my realm as well so the mob cap is so much higher😂

It worked! I found 2 stacks of gunpowder in the chest before I even finished the building. Can't wait to build it in my survival world.
This is well worth the material and building grind. After a few hours of building I tried sitting AFK and it wasn't working, turned my simulation distance to 4 chunks and loaded back in now there's countless creepers spawning from all 6 layers

@@wieran5407 above the ocean, I made a platform about 20-30 blocks out in the water about 12x12 blocks and lit it up with torches.(If you've been to an end city End Rods work well for light underwater). As a precaution I put magma blocks also below to light up the area while killing any water zombies that spawn below. If you had chunks any higher after making the build leave the game switch it to 4 chunks be sure to be in the afk spot and give it about 2-3 minutes maybe a little longer the creeper spawn does take minute at night so I prefer starting the process in the day when mobs won't spawn frequently

Worked great built 4 layers on bedrock (Xbox)best rates so far was 42 gunpowder only thing i extended the platform above the farm by one(would do more just got lazy) and add slabs ofc
Stayed at 16 chunks ended up being best and I built mine over an ocean that’s the way to go j wnated to add hope this help :)
Switch out the campfires for soul fire campfires they do more damage an are quicker on bedrock

@@Bobpanshark double check all your block placements. And if your not building over water check for caves they could be taking spawn rates. Like someone else said it's best to build at minimum 4 layers to get spawns, but I personally did 6 for max spawn rates
Or try what I did and build out over water and make a small platform of dirt or something. And only if absolutely necessary breakdown the farm find a new spot and make the farm step by step with the video (if you have multiple devices)

When building the afk part make sure you fill the corners with blocks cause phantoms can hit you through the corners

This is easily one of the best creeper farms i've ever built. I have 6 layers and I did a custom trident killer. 3x3 trident killers are very unreliable. I adjusted the water up top to converge into a 2x2 hole instead of a 3x3 one and made a 2x2 trident killer at the bottom. Ez gunpowder.

This worked great for me! I built 6 layers over an ocean with polished blackstone bricks and deepslate bricks, turned down the simulation distance to 4 chunks and went afk for 5 hours. My double chest was almost full! Never worrying about running out of fireworks again!

Just built this and I’m super happy with how it turned out. It wasn’t bad to build. I ended up doing 3 layers because that seemed like enough for my needs, and I’m willing to afk longer if i have to. I built over an ocean at y 125. I used torches instead of slabs on the roof. The rates are pretty good and overall I’m really satisfied! I made this right before 1.20 update
EDIT: I’m still super happy with this farm. I afk it for pretty long periods during the day while I’m doing other stuff. It’s perfect because it’s safe, consistent, and reliable! It’s not overpowered, but it gives enough

Great farm 1.19 I only built 4 layers upgrading it now to 6 layers built on land alot of torches needed for me as caves near by I water loged them seems to work fine as I getting bout 8 till 9 stacks in a hour

I lit the areas around with torches and nothing seemed to work. If you have the same problem, put the afk spot 100 blocks above the creeper farm. This seemed to work for me
like 20 blocks out still or just 100 blocks directly above it ?

It took my 4 hours to build, but the rates are so bad that i dont recommend it unless you do it with 6 layers like he did, but that would take triple the amount of time…….

@@TheYouGuy45 standard mob farms are better. As long as you afk long enough you'll have plenty of gunpowder. I built a 2 layer mob farm and in 15 hours a doubke chest of gunpowder plus other mob drops.

FINALLY a creeper farm for bedrock that actually works! I've built creeper farm after creeper farm but to no avail. But this farm, THIS FARM WORKS! Yes, it is true that more materials are needed than listed, but overall if you're in a world where you've already collected a ton of blocks, it isn't an issue. From building this farm, I'd highly recommend 5 or 6 shulker boxes to carry all the needed materials to wherever the farm will be built. I'd like to thank the creator of this farm for designing it because now I have a decent income of gunpowder for rockets
Works. Playing on PS5, it works. Made a 4 story farm, maybe some 250 powder an hour. Its perfect for me and nephew

I did this on Y125, and I get 4-7 creepers every time they spawn. I afk this in the night and I got a chest full of gunpowder so I’d say it works! Afk a night or two and it’s more than enough

Anyone else get a bit of a lighting issue? Half my farm is lit even though I double checked for holes in my roof.
I can see the shadows on the water and it looks like part of the roof is not blocking light, or else something from beneath is lighting it. Anyone know what's going on?
That happened to me too, I just left my world and joined back in and it was fixed and if that doesn’t work try placing a torch in the lit up areas and break the torch. I think it’s just a lighting glitch

I ended up building a case around it just to be sure lol. I honestly kind of prefer it this way since it was much easier to build than the roof, and not that much more expensive

I simply built your witch farm in a swamp and it does great and took about 10 minutes to build if even that. Plus I get redstone, glowstone, empty bottles, speed potions and health potions along with some bones and sticks. Absolutely love it. About the size of the witch hut too.
It's a great farm, I also have another witch hut design in mind that is recourse friendly!

This is an awesome design! I do have a way to make it a bit faster though. Considering how easy all the materials are to get, I would assume most people who plan to build this aren’t far enough to have a silk touch pickaxe. In my play through, I do, and if anyone else does, it’s much more efficient to use coral fans instead of trapdoors, since the mob ai still treats it as a full block. And if I’m not mistaken, I think you can just enclose the spawning area with walls instead of a big platform on top.
ETA: I’m not sure if building the platform or the walls is more cost efficient, I’ll have to check when I make this farm.
At some point building the top platform is cheaper than four big tall walls.
And yes coral fans are a lot more efficient. They have no hitbox, whereas trapdoors do. That means mobs can fall straight through easier. Keep in mind, though, that they were going to fix the coral fan bug in 1.19 but didn't. So not sure how long it'll work, but I assume they won't fix it. Community wants it in the game
@@snmfsquirrel87 is using buttons equivalent to using trapdoors (for the holes themselves, I know the ceiling has to use trapdoors to prevent taller mobs from spawning) ?
this is a bug and will be fixed. Meaning that it makes the farm not long term reliable

U can replace trapdors that creepers fall into with buttons. Also those hunderds of slabs can be replaced with at least 30-35 torches.
