    This thing looks so cool. I love the look of it. And good point about issues if it had an acrylic top. It would require sealing around the edges of each knockout to prevent spillage getting under.
    The sticker on the back looks annoying but tbh, what bothers me more is the two giant “Arcade1Up” logos on the trim of the monitor. At the very least, I think they should have used an all-white version of their logo or something.

    Great review! I like the way you emphasize the positives and explain how the negatives aren’t that negative in reality, such as the lack of a plexi top and how a drink on top of electronics isn’t a great idea anyway! I wonder if a side mounted cup/drink holder would be an option. Makes a whole lot of sense that if it did have a plexi top, that could be a negative. I hadn’t considered this until now but can see how non-gamer guests could get into some of these games with lots of nostalgia and zero learning curve!

      Phenomenal commentary! A side mounted cup holder could be great. They actually make those and they can be found on Amazon. I appreciate this comment so much!

    Great review. In case you didn't know, in Warlords you can use one of the action buttons to catch the flame and then relaunch it in a specific direction. Mastering that function is how you will get good :)

    I'm a bit late to the party but are the thinner white panels painted on both sides? The title listings on Arcade1up units have always been cringey for me, so I wondered if you could simply flip the panels.
    I see that there are vinyl overlays are also available so that's another option.
    Also: is the edge of the top painted or t-moulding?

  • @rushmore3927

    Still not seeing how the lack of protection on the control surface will have a happy ending. A1Up mentioned they were going to protect the whole thing. Seems it is primed for wear and staining. There are other coating protections besides plexiglass.

    • @RETRODNA
      @RETRODNA  Před 3 lety

      Yeah I spoke to this...there is a protective coating on it...but the reality is Arcade 1up products are all subject to wear. My recommendation is to use it as a game platform and not a table. It wont stain if you don’t put drinks and such on it.

    • @RETRODNA

      Cards-functionally yes, comfortably no. I feel like the spinners and buttons may get in the way. I don’t think the surface is big enough for a board game personally.

      Yeah, unfortunately I agree. I was going to buy this instead of a traditional pub table for my basement. I figured "well I need a table anyway, may as well have games in it!". But not being able to actually use it as a table is a little disappointing. I get that it won't be an issue for some people, but I think this could have been a product that got non "arcade nerds" into the arcade 1 up world. As is though, it's just another machine for the few people with an actual home arcade.
      In any case though, this was a really great review, and a cool product nonetheless!
