Welcome back, Spice Lords! Thumbs up if you're excited for Season 20.
Absolutely stoked😎
No more delays!! Get Keanu Reeves on the show!!!
20 Seasons and not one ounce of decline in quality!
Wow. When Sean calls "Action", Anna pops right into character!! What a pro!!!
BRING US PEWDIEPIE RRRRREEEEEEEE
I want to see a compilation of Sean getting called bad names by his guests. Someone make that happen please 😂
MGK was definitely one of the saltiest. That first interview with him, I can't remember what he said but I remember him seeming like he wanted to throw hands and that's just legendary.
Along with a compilation of him saying, "careful around the eyes."
She kinda reminded me of Euros Holmes, with her roaring angry growl as she tackled Sherlock by the throat!
That would be awesome 😎🤣😂🤣
My favorite is Key and Peele. “Hey Sean, Sean - F*CK YOU”
Keanu Reeves is a must he seems like he would be down for the challenge and he is a genuine good guy
This needs upvotes.
@@shoethief I would but it's at 69 right now so....I just can't.
@@richdizzy its at 85 go for it
Totally agree. Keanu would be a S tier episode
I think during john wick 4 it could fs happen I be hype
I think my favorite part of Seans interviewing style is the way he mirrors his guests, if theyre not taking a drink neither is he, if they're gripping the table so is he, if theyre talking fast so is he. Its a really nice subtle way to show his support and personability while they're struggling
That's "mirroring" and they teach it! (PR Major)
He's a bit of a master at it. He knows how to make his guests feel safe.
I was thinking about that in this episode also. I am always amazed when ppl do not drink the milk. When she never took a sip he never took a sip. As soon as someone grabs the milk is it just my imagination or does Sean look relieved to also now be able to have the milk? lol
Nuroligistic programming.
What's interesting is mirroring is kind of a natural behavior, so I wonder if it is naturally his way, but he honed it to be a good host
@@jessallaround13I responded before I read your thing. That's really cool!
i love that he asks questions that aren’t just about their most popular things. i actually learn things about these people in these interviews
That’s pretty much the Gist of the show.
Right. Almost every time the guest either I surprised by his knowledge and his questions. He is a really good interviewer.
He is a FANTASTIC interviewer. You can tell because THEY enjoy his questions. Even while being tortured.
I feel like Sean would be the ultimate baby-sitter for your first psychedelics trip with the way he talks these celebrities through the Hot Ones experience 🤣
was thinking the same thing haha
He would be a great trip-sitter!
😂❤
What a great analogy! He would make a great shaman
New show idea! I-will-ask-ya, a show where Sean and celebrities take Ayahuasca!
I feel like Anna Kendrick is Ryan Reynolds as a woman. Super funny, bubbly, wildly inappropriate at times, but super charismatic and impossible not to love.
Pretty solid analogy. 👍
even blake lively, ryan's wife, made that comparison so i feel like you're pretty spot on haha
She's literally female Ryan Reynolds. They both sing too
She’s said that. But also, she did a movie with Blake Lively and they are each other.
Honestly, checks out
Double bites, no milk, appreciation of Sean’s questions and showing emotion at the end.
Hit just about everything on the great guest checklist.
Sean's explanation of different people approaching the wings differently, like athletes treating the next wing as 'one more rep' and actors digging in to be immersed in the experience, was a super fascinating take that I never thought of before.
Anna took consistently big bites. Impressive.
Well, I think this season would be as good a time as any to do a Brendan Fraser episode! Hope we get that down the line!
Oh my gosh…..I am am hoping for that more than any other guest!!
The season is already shot in advance.
I think he has been tortured enough
As long as he binge eats them like in The Whale
While that would be cool, idk how good of an idea that would be for his health.
It's amazing how despite her agonizing in pain, she's still able to deliver so much witty lines *so quickly too!* AND GLASSES OF WATER AND MILK ARE UNTOUCHED!
nope . she drank at 17:37 . check it out . they just edited it.
@@fess04 I think you are probably right about her taking 1 drink but at the same time you've got to admit that she actually took real bites out of the chicken wings. She didn't just nibble. So with that said, she ate more and drank less than the vast majority of the guests.
@@fess04 well the glasses are untouched at that moment
@@fess04 sean has stated she did not drink anything during the tasting.
No drinks. Impressive. Beast mode activated. It did look like she was going for a drink before a cut, but the levels in the glasses sure look like they never changed.
I swear Sean has crisis counselor experience, this man deescalates folks so quickly and so effectively when they're about to tear him apart. Bravo Sean, bravo!
Interesting how Anna had the same basic response to the final question that Jennifer Lawrence did: that when a movie is bad is when they notice all the technical mistakes but when it’s good they just enjoy it with the added layer of appreciating the craft that went into the best parts.
I love the drama of Anna latching on to Sean as a solid link to reality and security while simultaneously cursing his existence. It's always a magical adventure
whatthefuck
I like to imagine that that's her way of flirting and she only enters that mode when she really likes someone. Ode to be on the receiving end of that!
I didn't expect her to be humble and sweet in real life
This isn’t her in real life… there’s a camera on her lol but I bet she is the same
@@tyler-pg6lm hello tyler, tyler here, yes i agree. shes not playing a character but shes still on camera
@@Tyler-si2rj hello Tyler, it’s a pleasure, I would say that it’s easy to forget that most of us would become a different person with a camera pointed at us knowing that millions of people will see what you are saying. Nice
Nice looking
18:03 the way she sobbed when she said “and then you go home and you’re just eating mac and cheese” she’s my icon
I met Anna once some years ago at her book signing in Portland, and she blew me away with how down to earth, cool, gracious, energetic, and respectful she is. And tiny, really tiny! I'll never forget it and she'll always be my favorite actress. ❤
I met her in NYC..brief encounter. She is as beautiful in person as she is on screen. Im.not tall, 5'7, but I couldn't believe how small she was..even with the heels she had on
Can I just say how amazed I am that she didn’t drink ANYTHING? no milk. No water. She’s dying inside but she just powers through. And I love that she got the capsaicin endorphin rush. The best part of eating spicy food!
She did but they didn't show it
17:38 I think it was she goes in for a drink

I just gained a lot more respect for Anna Kendrick. I love how this show does not in any way censor its guests and lets them speak their genuine selves. Now I want to watch every film she has ever done.
Not a Halle Berry though. Cleaned those wings and looked like a QUEEN!
nah she takes drogs. wIich means that she has a lover IQ.
It might have been the screams.

Careful what you wish for. She was in Twilight.
Was actually very impressed at the big bites Anna took, even from the hotter sauces. Very few of your guests actually seem to enjoy just eating wings. Kudos to her for that.
Anna pulls it off and once again she is a winner. Smart, talented, funny and willing to try anything...she IS the true
triple threat.
The dedication to take 2 bites, and the self control when he said “action!”. It made me respect her more. For someone who’s “not good with spice” I’m glad she didn’t tap out!

I'm always more impressed by someone who gets through when they're suffering from it, rather than someone who breezes through. She did good.
So she's crazy right? You know how she requested a movie action call to go into like robot mode. Idk if that's normal. I wonder if you yelled lines at her then said action. What would happen.
Agreed. And I’m not certain but I believe she made it thru dry…no milk or water consumed

I like the humble brag of "we had a normal dinner a few months ago." Like he's having casual dinners with a list celebs. Our guy has come far. So happy for Sean.
She said it was a normal dinner because she wanted to make sure people knew that it wasn’t a date. That was really brutal but he handled it like a champ.
@@MrSwagnificentSpeaks I took that line a different way -- they had a "normal" dinner as opposed to a dinner of chicken wings covered in ever-increasing levels of spiciness designed to test your resolve in front of millions of viewers.
@@OneZero73 I will have to agree to disagree. The way she said it and how quickly she said it made it clear that she wanted people to know that it wasn’t a date.
I agree with Oliver it was said to make sure everyone knew it wasn't a date.

I love how Sean keeps mimicking and joining in with the guests because you can tell he just wants them to be as comfortable and not-alone in this. Constantly reassuring and commenting his support. what a nice host.
I love whenever Sean pulls out the last dab bottle and starts shaking it and guests react like he's just pulled out a gun. 😆
I think the bomb part about the ears might be one of the funniest things I’ve seen on this channel. The rate at which he backtracked to say it was normal had me crying
I was hoping someone else felt the same way!
i had to pause bc i was laughing so hard hahahaha
It’s like that scene in Aladdin…
Anna Kendrick's self control when you called 'action' was impressive. There was an episode of Firefly where Mal was getting tortured, and his captor said that pain lets you see the measure of a person. Anna, you are the best!
Now I'm picturing Sean knocked to the floor, with Anna standing over him with a Carolina Reaper. "DO YOU WANT TO MEET THE REAL ME NOW?!"

The instant switch in her demeanor when he said "action"... I got goosebumps. That amount of control over your expression and behavior while in extreme pain is incredible.

Sean is one of the best interviewers out there right now. He has a way of disarming and bringing out the authentic version of people. It's fricken addictive to watch.
I think they’re friends too so that’s why this particular one just seems even more authentic then other ones. But yes, he does do that in general
I haven't seen interviews like this before this show. He, or his team, do some incredible research! The number of times a guest said "Did I tell you that?" "How did you know that?", "That's a great question!"

The transition that happens when he calls action, starts at 19:00 or so and really commits at about 19:25...it's just unreal. As soon as she gets her brain thinking "this is just a part", she just NAILS it. Just about the only giveaway that she's dying inside is in her eyes.
