I literally got this a couple days ago.
I fed the ducks and was like "Why not" and pulled out Yoimiya to shoot them.
And then the quest changed and i just sat there for a second like "wait..."
Me too, when the first time i got this quest long ago, but I used Amber. Free fowls right in front of you!

@Kyngfisher I won't take Timmie's commission again unless it's to come up with new ways to kill the ducks (already killing the pigeons on a regular basis).
I also did a duck massacre using Amber. Then got chewed out by the nun the next day, lmao.
Next time I may use Kaeya to make the ducks part of his ice bridge or have Lisa step into the water and do her AoE E... For now, I won't touch that commission.

For those who haven't encountered this before - This is a daily commission that you can randomly get from Timmie, and if you "accidentally turned his ducks into fowl", you'll get another commission the next day from his caretaker. Complete it for an achievement and 5 Primogems!

You can start by practicing with the 4 ruin guards in Liyue's Guyun Stone Forest. I suppose he'll be summoning more than that 🤣
The level of detail they put into this quest is funny it's the kind of heart I felt was missing in Liyue and inuzuma. Like truly mondstat is so much better than the other regions so far.
I totally agreed with you on this! There's even another set of daily commissions where you get to learn about Timmie's dad, when you read a letter carried by some pigeons
