One of the greatest country music entertainers that left us way to soon. I watched the story of how he changed his name from Harold Morrison to Conway Twitty and it was so cool. R.i.p. Conway. You are always missed by so many of your fans and people who loved you.
That's true. There's something about his voice that's hard to describe. He's just so for real. I think most women can feel the genuine emotion and passion when he sings. I know I sure can!
I met a girl who trully hadn't been that far before and this song was the song that made her go that far. It was the greatest time in my life and the moment was made possible because of this great song sung by a great singer and my heavenly charms. It's a memory that will never escape me for it was the first time I had ever been with an angel. Thank you Mr.Twitty.
I couldn't agree with u more Conway was a very good singer he made country and i don't care what other ppl say i love conway always have always will he was the 1st person i saw in concert back in north carolina in 1975 and i was around 4 or 5 years old when i saw him and loretta lynn in concert. i miss conways music his music and songs i could listen to everyday all day long. miss and love u Conway!!!!!
you can feel the love and feelings he sings in every song he does, He makes you feel warm inside and you want to love him even more, beats all other singers hands down. I love him and will always be grateful his music lives on, he is sorely missed. rip Conway...
I grew up with my grandparents, and my grandma's favorite singer was Conway Twitty. I'm thankful I got into the "older" music, today's music sucks. Give me Conway any day over the idiots we have today.
nice to know that young ladies still like Conway. I was country when country wasn't cool back in the 80's and I was able to see Conway at Six Flags in St. Louis.....It was so great, he came out to the fence and I was so close to him. I have most of his albums (LP's)....he was one of my favorites as a teenager. I am now 44 years old. Have you listened to Gene Watson? He is one of my other favorites!
So I go all the way to my Uncles house in Tennessee and (2 yrs ago) and his step son says you ever been to Twitty City, I said no I am from Chicago, omg I would love to go. Well they closed it a few years before I could make it out there, I so loved Conway so did my mom.. Yes he is VERY VERY missed. Big heart beautiful smile and good soul. Bless him .
I hope one Day When I get to Heaven, I will meet you and tell you how much you filled my heart with love ,Thank You So Much Conway,,,,,,,God Loves you Too.....
As a huge Conway Twitty fan that goes back to 1973 when I was 11, A great Man with a Great Voice gone too soon. You will never be forgotten, we have your music to remember you by.
To my wife. We were together for 51 years. I lost her two years ago. RIP honey. I miss you so much and will love you forever. Till we meet again baby. Keep listening to Conway as I am.
Such love is rare ~ you were both deeply blessed. I hope the years have been kind to you, and that you continue to hold the golden memories so close to you as part of your very being. Yes, you will both meet again one day. Warmest wishes.
I loved Conway as a kid ,seen him in concert in 1981 .I was a teenager, and he was the singer I loved ,and still do. He was the best singer ever...I also got lots of pics and was close enough to get an autograph from him.I only wish I had of gotten someone to take my picture standing in front of him!! Regrets.
This man, his life was taken way too soon. I know that if he were still here today, he'd be doing this same thing. Making more girls fall in love like he's done me, and I'm only 17. He's beautiful, and has an amazing voice. And absolutely no one else in country music puts more feeling into their songs than Conway Twitty.
The crazy thing is , this was considered "racy" at the time it was released. Right now though, with all the vulgar garbage on the radio, this is downright classy.
I have been on this Conway kick for about 3 weeks & I listen to him day & night on CZcams, I'm hearing songs that I had never heard before & he's always been one of my favorite
For the nay-sayers, you need to do a little research. Conway Twitty has the 3rd most records selling in Country Music only second to George Jones. Conway was a major hit in the popular music realm in his early days - the movie Bye Bye Birdie was written about him.
If he had the third most then who was the other one besides George Jones. I don't doubt what you say but you have only answered half of your own statement.
"As a country music artist, Conway’s string of 75 Top 10 hits placed him behind only two others-Eddy Arnold (92) and George Jones (79). No country singer ever recorded as many No. 1 hits." www.countryweekly.com/vault/cover-story-we-remember-late-great-conway-twitty-1996 (Maybe these stats have changed since 1996.)
+Gary M conway at the time of his death had the most #1s and he would have held onto that title, if he had lived, a few have passed his record since his death , but im sure not in the time frame that he did
Such a good song , love this sound , Sorry to say , never heard from him before , till the moment a fbf send me 2 songs , this one and , lay you down , ? Grtz from Amsterdam ,.
Why do some people consider this song is creepy. I don’t get that at all and I am 74 years old. I 😂remember when this song came out and I loved it. He had a lot of sexy suggestive songs . I was a virgin when I married so I didn’t believe in the free love movement that was going on at the time. Creepy to me means disgusting, evil, poor taste. This song and the rest of his suggestive songs were wonderful.
What made me tell him was he would get mad and punch me with his fist. Or in the mouth with his backhand. And that stung like hell!!!! So ...there you have it. Why wouldn't I want a good man.
Ive been a fan for45 0f my 57 years and was lnspired to write even when I was in prison for 20 years, but now Im out to pursue my dream and to try to clear my name, but no matter what happens I'll always be a fan to the greatest singer, songwriter who ever lived and was a readio hero to a lonely 14 year old boy who locked the bedroom door and dreamed. .and still does.J.Alley
The best man to ever do it in country!

My only regret regarding Conway Twitty, sorry did not see him perform live. He was the greatest.
He passed in 1993, never realized he would be called home so soon... performed it in late 1992. Love you Conway.

I love these live performances. They are much better than the canned studio versions. But regardless of the version, Conway was a BOSS!!!!

Too bad the first 38 seconds of this clip are a dark stage, because this performance is fantastic.

@songman1440 Agree!
Hey
yes Conway's great but as far as the feelings in a song I think it'd be close between Conway and The Hagg (Merle Haggard)
Is is stereo on the original CD?
Not the same without Poppa John in the band.
