    For the Windsor cake academy, the video is really good, except you need to zoom up the camera more cause we can't see the detail.

    I have found that if you mix two colors in a bowl (and do not blend it all the way) it gives almost the same affect as you showed in the beginning .

      Hi, that's another great way of doing a two tone swirl...it's just all about being creative and trying out new things. The way shown in the video just tints the very edge of your buttercream swirl, gives a great effect when piping roses!
      Thanks for watching!

      +NATASHA SANDE Practice makes perfect! Keep going and it will get so much easier with time :) You can even just pipe onto some baking paper to perfect your swirls so that you are able to pop it back into your piping bag to use again. Hope this helps :)

    It looks like your buttercream is way too stiff for the pink and the white. Also it surprises me the way you put the buttercream in the bag. It wastes so much that way! You should fold it over halfway and fill it, and then pull the rest back over so you don't waste so much buttercream. Also if you give the bag a shake it'll help it not have so many air bubbles.

      Practice, practice, practice! It really is the only tip that we can give. It may seem hopeless at first but just keep going and it will eventually get better and easier. Practice on your family and friends...even if they have not turned out exactly as you had hoped, they will still love free cake ;) Keep on watching videos and tutorials and maybe find a class near you so that you can talk to your instructor.
      Hope this helps and thanks for watching :)

    What is the recipe for the buttercream? Is there a video or a website that would tell me? +Windsor Cake Academy

      @WindsorCakeAcademy  Před 8 lety

      Hi Katherine,
      In the tutorial we have just used our own 'Windsor Craft' ready made frosting. You can find this at the link the description box above. Other than that, searching the internet for a simple buttercream recipe should do fine also.
      Hope this helps and thanks for watching :)

      Hi Brenda,
      Thanks for watching! How do you make your buttercream? Do you use the traditional butter and icing sugar with a touch of milk? If so, you may just need to add a little more icing sugar until you find the right consistency.
      Hope this helps!
