I tried to buy a set of those display stands but they don't ship outside of America. Cool idea though, the foot pegs look like they'd help with the space issue of those display arms taking up space.
I thought the Mafex cape was a plastic mold at first, that’s how good Mafex did on the cape with this figure. Mafex is looking like the better Go-To between these two companies.
I usually go with sh figuarts, but i think I’m going with mafex for this figure.

Fantastic job on this comparison. I don’t plan on buying either one of these but I really appreciate the amount of work that went into this and enjoyed watching it.
My choice of Batman was either the Figuarts or the McFarlane. I went with the Figuarts for the extra accessories, and the unmasked head. But i will say, if i had the budget for the Mafex, I'd go with that hands down. This was a great review, I know the pros and cons of the Figuarts, and for the discounted price i got him for, its worth it!

Agree...figuarts cape design really pull the figure points down. I swapped my figuarts batman head and cape with Muff Toys custom, and boy those change elevated the figure to another level

David, great in-depth analysis. I would like to point one something- the gun at 40:00 is actually the sticky bomb gun, it was used off screen during the final fight where Batman glides down the glass ceiling to fight Riddler's henchmen, it's also mentioned in concept art included in The Art of The Batman book. The Mezco figure also has it listed as the sticky bomb gun. It's a error from MAFEX's side.

the figuarts is fine except for the cape yeah. still happy i went with the mafex though, now waiting for it to arrive.
Does you figuarts have the unsealed seams on the side of the figure when you turn the torso?
Mafex’s cape just makes the figure look so much better.
I already took shf batman when both were shf and mafex announced that theyll be releasing the 2022 batman. even with the complaints with the cape. I’ve replaced the caped and it all looks fine compared to the mafex release.

Both are inspired by concept art. He doesn't have a gun on his leg, it's just a pouch and the empty cowl has a strap for some reason

They should always use a thin leather for the capes…cotton just doesn’t look right
Looking at the movie design, and now that mezco is out, these both missed the yellow/orange line on the shin.
Also both suit color are not correct, Mafex may be closer to actual, mezco got it correct.

Is it just me or has FiguArts gone a bit downhill in terms of quality and engineering over the years? It used to be a stark difference between one of their figures and something you'd find from American toy line at Walmart or whatever. But now like, many of their figures don't look that much better than something you'd find for general purchase at a Walmart.
might be kind of a hot take but I prefer the recent mcfarlane 6 pack patterson batman figure over these scruple wise and the simplistic cloth goods cape honestly looks better to me over these two verisons

I got s.h figuarts the batman during that $60 sale, and that was when I barely started collecting figures, and i wish i had done some research beforehand. As of right now, it is my least favorite figure in my collection. I do plan on getting mafex the batman throught plaza japan eventually as it is cheaper on there.
