Starship Valiant: Legacy - The Special Edition (2015)

  • You all have seen Starship Valiant but you haven't seen the complete story. Back in 2014 when the film was made, a sequence was written that would have introduced the Chief Medical Doctor, Roger Floyd and Chief Engineer Erick Minard as well as the fatally wounded Captain Jeffrey Clark but this scene was never filmed...until now.
    Going back to the original cut, Executive Producer Michael L. King & director Brady Foster joined together to shoot the forgotten scene with new visual effects and music. This time around, Starbase Studios, (where Valiant was filmed), completed a partial sickbay set making this all possible. Check out a more detailed accounting of the special edition here: starshipvaliant.org/starship-v... What we have noticed is that you tube's encoding software seems to have screed up the aspect ratio but the film is still very watchable.
    ...Thank you all for watching.

    Been a Trek fan from first show decades ago. Hell got a signed thank you from Gene Roddenberry after turning in 1000's of signed petitions to get one more season, and the show continued. I never knew about these Fan made films. Yesterday I found all these great films. Bravo from a old Star Trek Fan. You captured the style of Human interaction and Great Star Trek effects. Mr. Roddenberry would be proud of these films. I hope You continue.

      +Laura Ess Thank you for watching and the comments. We were pretty proud of our work on the sickbay as we completed all the work within one week and after a major flood had hit the studio and did a lot of damage. To keep our shoot date, we only had a week and we worked tirelessly to meet that date, which of course, we did. Looking back on it now, we did have to cut corners but one of the biggest compliments we got was from James Cawley himself after he viewed the footage in Ticonderoga and he said, "Great job. You guys are way ahead of where were where when we started. That meant a lot to us. As trek fans we were very happy to share what we had accomplished and hope to do much better in episode #2. More than that, we appreciate you taking the time to watch and sharing your thoughts.

    The dude playing captain Jack Bishop gives a performance that feels real. He seems like a slightly awkward guy, but i think that is part of the characters background, and his emotions feel genuine. Nobody else in the movie is quite as convincing as him. Some good actors here, such as the girl playing Lisa, but Bishop really stands out.

    First off let me say that the movie clip was pretty good yall did a good job for working for the first timw with each other... i have seen alot of good things as well as bad well in some scenes it looks like the captain dosent have any emotion when fighting with his daughter and when he looses half of his ship.. he seems as if he dosent knw how to react to those situations. Secound on the begging of the clip when the first captian is about to die the doctor without saying anythimg basically with the gestures said that hes out of luck and the nurses couldve played a better role other than not saying anything and with the argument with the engineer and the captain i thought was good but again no emotion from the captian i think the graphics were pretty amazing overall i think u guys should record and sell to the public

    I hope Vailant and his crew from the ship still many adventures to see.

    Two blips on the motion control sensor?

    • @StarshipValiant
      @StarshipValiant  Před 6 lety

      This line was a reference to the classic TOS episode, "Balance of Terror," and one of Michael L. King's favorites.
      From TOR.COM: Spock can’t detect the enemy vessel-it only became visible when it fired the weapon-but he finds a blip on motion sensors that may or may not be it. The blip has changed course, and in a leisurely manner. The invisibility screen they’re using consumes tremendous power-probably why it needs to be dropped in order to fire-and that may also keep them from seeing the Enterprise.

      ***** OH, I,M SURE THERE WILL BE GOOD EPISODES.THE ACTORS HAVE TALENT, I HAVE TO ADMIT A TEAR CAME TO MY EYE WHEN I HEARD THE MUSIC PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND,WHEN THE NEW CAPTAIN IS ON THE BRIDGE ALONE.YOU HEAR THE SAME PRETTY MUSIC THAT WAS ONCE PLAYED FOR CAPTAIN KIRK AND SHWANA IN GAMESTERS OF TRISKILLION. AFTER JIM AND SHWANA WERE JOGGING DURING THEIR DRILLS. JIM PUTS HIS ARM AROUND THE BEAUTIFUL ANGELIQUE PETTYJOHN AND SAYS ,SHWANA, HAVN,T YOU EVER LOOKED AT THE NIGHT SKY AND THE TWINKLING LIGHTS? FROM THOSE TWINKLING LIGHTS THERE ARE PLANETS THAT REVOLVE AROUND THEM, AND THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO LIVE ON THEM JUST LIKE US. I HAVE REALLY LIKED STARSHIP EXETER NCC_1706, AND THAT GORGEOUS,BUXOM ENGLISHWOMAN FIRST OFFICER HARRIS.STARSHIP FARRAGUT NCC_1674 HAS HAD SOME VERY WELL MADE EPISODES. STAR TREK CONTINUES IS EXCELLENT,VERY WELL MADE EPISODES,VERY WELL WRITTEN. I,'VE ALREADY DOWNLOADED STARSHIP VALIANT, ALONG WITH OTHERS, AND THEIR LOGO. I LOVE OTHER STARSHIPS AND LOGOS TOO. I HAVE TO SAY STAR TREK CONTINUES IS EXCELLENT,ESPECIALLY THAT GORGEOUS RED HEAD IN THE MINI DRESS. SHIP,S COUNSELER. R.I.P. ANGELIQUE PETTYJOHN. SHE PASSED AWAY FAR TO YOUNG, FEB 14, 1992, WHAT A VALENTINE SHE WAS. SHE WAS A SIXTIES FLOWER GIRL. IF STARSHIP VALIANT IS ANYTHING LIKE STAR TREK CONTINUES, IT WILL BE EXCELLENT. I HOPE IT IS. MY FAVORITE TOS EPISODES WERE THE DOOMSDAY MACHINE, U.S.S. CONSTELLATION N.C.C._ 1017, THE FIRST TIME YOU SAW A DIFFERENT STARSHIP AND DIFFERENT LOGO. OF COURSE MY FAVORITE ALIENS THE GORN. MUCH MORE INTERESTING THAN ROMULANS OR KLINGONS.THEIR SCORPION DESTROYERS ARE SHARP.I HOPE I SEE THEM ON OCCASION ON VALIANT. THANKS FOR ENTERTAINING THE TOS FANS. WE,'RE PRETTY ECCENTRIC, HUH! I'm seeing this for the first time. I appreciate it's different starships with different captains and stories instead of changing original Star Trek characters and changing their personalities to fit modern social and political climate, which totally destroy the originals and the Star Trek original canon. I'm sorry the budget for this must have been small as the uniforms are the worse-fitting I've ever seen. There is also something to be said for having older people as spaceship command crews. For one thing the women are so old they don't show their legs and only show their body from the waist up. The older people in general should be advisers, overseers, headquarters where their acquired wisdom and knowledge will do the most good. Old(er) people's response times and reflexes are also slower, much slower. And, therefore, should "not" be a primary starship crew. Now that everyone knows their place are there any ideas for younger actors (who can "act") for starship captains and crews, and stories that can allow from time to time older actors to peek in - get shot - killed - sick - kidnapped - held hostage - betrayed - but keep the action going? Here's wishing you luck.

      ...Mmmk. Let me start out by apologizing to you & your hurt feelings and instead of critiquing it in an "Over-All," original idealism that helps supports the arts. Let me tell you want you want to hear: Special effects, B++, very nice, (The ship to ship engagement was interesting, but short). Set design A+ Excellent (Has an actual feel of the original series). Storyline: D+, Characters don't assume new rolls simply because others are dead or otherwise gone. Realism: F-, Starfleet in that era has only 12 Constitution Class vessels available for command, 34 later on, how likely is it the "Next in command will actually be the next in command," in the next rotation?! Too many waiting to fill that roll. Have any of you ever even read FASA/Paramount/Star Trek: Phase II ? Anyway, Acting: D++ (Almost believable), I realize these are newbs, so I'll bend a lot here - And honestly say - They didn't suck...(Side note, Captain Jack was actually interesting)...
