  • Ran into a scooter tour on their way to Chicago from Santa Monica. They're taking Route 66 all the way. I don't know how long it'll take them but this should be a neat adventure! The man said their website is scoot66tour.com but that domain doesn't work. Their IG however is: / scoot66tours
    Have a great weekend, ya'll.

    A couple of comments:
    Be very careful of those guy as they are a VERY DANGEROUS GANG!
    I used to live right where you are. On Sunset right near Barney’s Beanery. Most of the 1980s while at UCLA Medical School (when you could still get real cocaine).
    And lastly, and I kid you not, within the next hour a Sondors Metacycle is being delivered to my house in Maryland. 100 true!

    Thank you for posting this awesome video. It looks like the Sondors Metacycle will be perfect for my needs. I did cringe a bit at the lane splitting early on in the video. It's not allowed here in New York and in over 40 years of riding I never felt the need to attempt it. Please keep the Metacycle videos coming.

      thanks for watching. in california, lane splitting is essential AND legal. i had no idea it's not allowed in new york. ride safe.

    Do you ever feel it’s too quiet? Or you don’t miss the noise and awareness?

    • @smithlongworth7389
      @smithlongworth7389  Před rokem +5

      i'm still getting used to the quietness. i needed to use the horn the other night because it's LA and there's just constant bad drivers everywhere.

    That seems appropriate considering that the Metacycle has the performance of a 150cc scooter, not a 300+cc motorcycle. Also, like a scooter, has no clutch or gear shifter.

    Does your brakes squeak? Mines does. I'm hoping it's just taking off the gloss from the disk

    Please, please, please tell me what the 0-60mph time & max speed are for this real life metacycle ? .. Sondors specifically told me “6 seconds, although this may improve as sports mode is still under development” & claimed 80mph for top speed. I’m told it’s nearer 11 seconds. The wing mirrors were changed, the battery isn’t removable, naked silver isn’t an option & the supermassive is being shipped with silver wheels, not black as originally intended. I can see a false advertising case heading their way..if this thing doesn’t accelerate like an electric bike should, I’m cancelling & opting for a Horwin CR6 or saving for a Tarform

      0-60 realistically is around 11secs. fastest i've gone so far is 67mph. i didn't expect much from this bike. it does the job for commuting to and from work.

    Can you please tell what’s the battery range on highway? My commute to work is 40 miles round trip. Thanks!

      @smithlongworth7389  Před rokem +2

      Sondors claims 80 miles. i think that only works in the city. if you're looking at hwy speeds, the range would be a lot less. 40 miles round trip would be fine if you don't mind carrying the 8lb battery charger and your work has access to a wall outlet. the battery is not removable.

    Gimme some Max Speeds, up n Down PCH, & Range..can u go past Malibu n back to SM

    • @smithlongworth7389
      @smithlongworth7389  Před rokem +1

      i've done 67mph before. if i'm coming from santa monica, go up PCH to Malibu and back it would work. just gotta not use Sport mode because that drains the battery really fast.
