Made a conscious decision to elevate my style a few months ago... Suddenly began to notice that I was getting way more attention and better service when I went anywhere! People smiled at me and older men gave me that 'checking you out' look. Huge noticeable difference. I was in a shopping mall and a younger woman came up to me and told me how great I looked and wanted to know where I got my shoes (Vizzano pointy toe heels) - talk about an ego boost. I have now gone through all my clothes and turned them into outfits. Once I got started it was easy, so much fun and I already had 95% of everything I needed. Now I am becoming that 'shoe' woman (you know the one...) I am 64. Ha!

Hi from Annie it is amazing how we can get so many different looks right from our own wardrobe with out shopping it is fun doing a real girly thing to have fun with what clothes you have there I do that sometimes and there are endless looks one can achieve by mix n match of what is already there no need to shop, but I do not go out much at all and have no social life so I am just happy to wear what is in my wardrobe knowing it is clean and freshly washed is fine for me and I look after my clothes so well it is hard to believe some are from over 20yrs ago thou some may not fit have kept a few for memory of times they were worn to those interesting events they hold many memories. of some great times.

Good under garments and having clothes tailored - the winning combination for style.
I always wear a camisole even with a T-shirt. I have a nude colored one and a black one that are on a hook in my closet to grab and wear.
I love how you keep the common woman in mind in your videos. Your tips can be used by anyone and I love your style - not over the top. I often see women of a certain age (like myself) trying too hard to look young...you hit the mark just right.
Very true about the cowboy boots. I have lived in Texas for over 20 years. I used to work for a podiatrist and did physical therapy in her office. My specialty is plantar fasciitis. The podiatrist used to say that cowboy boots are the best shoes a person can wear because they are so supportive. When you find the ones that are right for you, they fit you like a glove. Also most have about an inch to an inch and a half heel, and it is the perfect amount of lift to give your arch and heel support

All your looks are so great! Today I wore a white shirt and very light cute ripped baggy jeans. I had some white Kendra Scott earrings and then tall light colored boots. I believe the earrings and the boots elevated my look for work and I felt like I looked so good in my outfit! You have taught me how to do this! Thank you

Well you have certainly done it. You have changed your style to a more casual, youthful, chic and edgier look. Growing your hair longer and a more natural makeup look fits you very well. Looking glamorous over 50 can age you. Also, being as slim and in shape as you are (great abs), only shows that you are not giving to your age. As I often say, “I desire to inspire.” When you get compliments from younger people, you know you are there! Bravo!

This is one of my favourite videos of yours, Dominique; love that it is loaded with so many good suggestions! I‘m travelling (carryon only) later this month, and am taking one purse with three different straps - 2 (shoulder and crossbody) that came with the bag, and a guitar strap that I picked up in Barcelona last Fall. One purse, three ways. Also couldn‘t agree more about how Banana Republic has come into its own again style-wise after a loooonng break. I‘ve picked up a few items during their 40% off sale last month and couldn‘t be happier. Thank you for continuing to let us all in on your wisdom, wardrobe-related and otherwise.

Suggestion challenge bcuz you’re a terrific teacher: switch up mindset, demo Target with a serious tone as if a high-end brand. Quality is different for sure but confidence sells any brand!

Watched this while getting ready to do a walking tour of St. Moritz. Grabbed my black hat a tied a cute little scarf I’d brought on the trip to tie around it. Game changer! Loved the look and it made the hat pop against the 7” of fresh spring snow in the background of my pics!

Hello Dominique, this is Bridget from southern California …although I enjoy your videos for the most part, I find that on occasion I feel rather sad that so many of us out here cannot afford some of the things that you seem to be showing in your videos. These are very hard times for most people and if one is lucky enough to be able to shop at all for a few new spring items it’s usually a stretch to even get them at bargain prices more less items that lean toward high-end. I work in a field where I daily encounter women in various stages of financial stress and I’m sure it would make them feel wonderful to see something that they can possibly own without breaking the bank. Thanks.
She’s just giving you different ideas. You can take some ideas. I’m sure you have something in your closet. You don’t have to spend and just have a look. Experiment and really the best thing you can wear is confidence. I’m a fellow Southern California gal, don’t fall for the frenzy. ❤😉

I just think that if she would show more affordable clothing more often it would be very heartfelt and very helpful to a lot of different women.🌹

I agree…Target and Banana Republic have upped their game! Have bought several things recently and been very pleased. Love the scarf idea for the hats…I just started wearing hats for sun protection and am finding out I am a hat girl! This was a great video and I am now obsessing over that LV bag!

Great tips. Yes I alter my clothing to my shape. Thanks to my mother she taught me sewing skills so it helps when you need to change your new purchase. Yes colour my world. Coming into Winter here in Victoria Australia so yes I wear bright colours in winter and through out the year. Love the cowboy boots right up my alley. I went to order coat, but noticed all polyester, no natural wool, the pull on jeans from target....all polyester.☹️ I would sweat too much in oil based fabrics, however, did order bra, appreciate the idea for it, under tank tops. It looks very comfortable and pretty.😊

Ordered the Knox Rose jeans from Target in both light and dark wash. You are so right...they fit like a dream and are just the right length and silhouette. Thank you! It's so hard to buy jeans these days. Two other pair I bought recently are going to my local charity shop.

Dominique I really love your videos with your clothing suggestions and appreciate that you show Target, Boston Proper etc. that are affordable. A lot of the influencers are showing darling outfits but unattainable in price...not even worth it to watch or possibly I am watching the wrong influencers. Thank you for your videos. You put a lot of work into them. Love that you post the links. Even though our body types are vastly different, I find there are always tips I can use. Keep making great videos. Love seeing Audrey. We need to style Audrey. She is the cutest! Also, would love to see video of makeup brushes. There are so many types it gets confusing. And one more request when it comes to skin care. I never know in which order to apply creams, serums, etc. Help! Lol.
Some years ago, an approach to selecting color shades (not the color per se but the tones within the color) that worked best with skin, hair, eye color called "Color Me Beautiful" (or similar) was very helpful. Your programs on cool vs warm toned skin and proper choice of makeup shades were very, very helpful. It would be ever so great if you combined the cool vs warm makeup info with a tutorial on which shades of each color work best.
Color me Beautiful was a game changer. Once I started wearing the correct colors, I got compliments from strangers! The funny thing is, they know you look great, but don’t know why.
Excellent! For me, it was learning that I could wear most every color and that it was the "shade" of the colors that were correct for me that made the difference. For example, I avoided green. Then I learned that green with black undertone (I think that is what it was called) was wrong and that green with warm undertone was really nice. Same for blue, red, purple, etc. I noticed that Dominique looked totally amazing in the blue dress. That blue has warm tones (not a navy blue). The makeup selections (warm tones?) and the blue dress resulted in a head-to-toe, coordinated and stunning look.

It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. I would love a video with Spring/Summer fashion pieces on different body types and also stylist flat shoes as some of us can't wear high heels anymore. One of my go to fashion piece is a nice scarf. It elevates an outfit immediately. I also change my purses belts to create different looks.
