  • I've been searching for a quality set of flaps for my G80, and these are the ones I chose for a few reasons. The protection/coverage for the rocker panels and rear side splitters is the best I've found!
    Overall, this install is simple and mounting is secure. I breakdown this install step by step and give my opinions, and review, about this product from ‪@TommyLGarage‬

    What do you think of painting the backside of the mud flaps black gloss? Would keep the coloring the same

      I like that idea! It did cross my mind. I thought about powder coating them. I have a friend who runs a business and he has a paint booth… I may look into this further 🤔 it would look good with the gloss black trim.

    I'm thinking maybe we can put some rubber spacers for the rear flaps?

    • @legacydriven
      @legacydriven  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I thought about that as well, but with the positioning of the flap, combined with the smooth plastic surface, I don’t think it will be an issue over time. Especially since they don’t “flap” at all and mine really stays in place nicely. I may end up creating some type of protective barrier between the paint and flap in the rear. But for now it’s very solid!

      @@legacydriven oh I'm sorry. I was talking about the spacers where the screws go in since it's sitting at an angle.

      @@21void5 Ahh! My bad. Yeah I have thought about that as well. Given that the threaded insert for the screw is rubber it seems to hold its position rather well (so far) but if you find a good solution as far as a suitable spacer please let us know here!

    I understand they're super useful, but not sure about the look.

      I honestly wasn't sure either prior to install, but, I have to say that they are hardly noticeable. This may be due in part to the fact that my car has a dark blue and black color scheme so it hides them better... but I haven't seen them in person on a light colored G8X. Regardless, they seem to be less noticeable than other ones on the market, IMO.
