    Your scrolling back and forth filmic treatment is simple but genius. It's literally what we all do with all these tutorials anyway, so a great idea. Really slick video.

      Right ?! I'm trying to learn the bunny hop 180 to fakie rollout myself . Ali Clarkston has a decent tutorial but as you said , not as in depth as this . I really like the forward/ reverse clips . Really shows body language and made me realize where I need improvement

      It's pretty hard to make a tutorial for a move like 180s, because the parts of the move that take the most time to learn are things you can't really teach. You just have to figure them out by trial and error.
      But I could make a video explaining what those things are and the other basics.

    • @maxspl153
      @maxspl153 Před 3 lety

      That would be cool ! I understand. I can 180 my fourplay , but it feels violent. Hard landing , and most of the time I can't seem to roll them out .

    I think that might be useful for your audience if you explain a roadmap of suggested tricks/skills from trakstand to *i don't know what*, so that a newbie can figure where to start or improve. It will be also useful for you to figure out which video to make after this one.

    No this IS the best explanation. I've seen thousands of videos, but this is the most explanatory. I just started and I always tried to jump with the rear wheel as well without perfecting the initial movement. I'm going to try tomorrow!

    • @gradynelson
      @gradynelson Před rokem

      Some of the tutorials says you shouldn't rock back, some says you should just be jumping n shouldn't use your arms, some says you should jump from the middle and a lot of crap like this. Most of the tutorials has 3 mins of intro where they argue about the name of the bunny hop, talk about their own nonsense theories and discredit all the other tutorials.
      I wasn't able to improve myself for a month like not even a bit just because of the mess. Finally almost solved it myself but I could be doing much better now if this was the first tutorial I watched bc everything he has detailed here fits what I found and corrected myself. CZcamsrs were elaborating it in a very different way, distracting you from where you should be focusing on but this one here is making everything 10x easier to understand.
      People talk about bunny hop like it's politics.

    Thanks for getting that shinner on purpose. I could tell it was not a real mistake.

  • @squiresuzuki
    @squiresuzuki Před rokem +1

    I think the first part of this tutorial (getting the front up) is one of the best out there. However, like many tutorials I believe it makes the mistake of focusing on the "scooping" thing when getting the rear up. Scooping is basically necessary when lifting only the rear tire from rest. But if you watch the slo mo of your own full bunny hop, you'll see that what gets the rear wheel up is actually just pushing the bars forward, which pivots the bike around the BB and therefore pivots the rear wheel up. Your feet are flat in the slo mo when that happens and never point toes down. I might be wrong though, I'm terrible at bunny hops myself.

    • @TheUselessTrials
      @TheUselessTrials  Před rokem

      This is false. Yes, pushing the bars forward helps level the bike out, but it's never going to do the lifting work for a really high bunnyhop. For an over 1 m high bunny hop for example, you have to lift the whole bike violently with everything you've got. That includes arms pulling up at first, then pushing forward, and legs/lower body pulling up. (taken to the extreme, even shoulders lifting the bars above your head - watch Ali C and Danny Mac)
      So, the correct answer to 'How do you pull the rear up?' would be: You pull up the whole bike with your arms and legs at the same time while pushing the bars forward to level the bike out.
      Maybe check out Part 2, where this is explained and shown.

    • @squiresuzuki
      @squiresuzuki Před rokem

      @@TheUselessTrials Ah yes, sorry I was only referring to the leveling-out motion once you're in free fall (or getting the rear up for small hops), not the hops that are so explosive that the rear lifts significantly as part of the first motion as well. But now I've seen part two and you seem to acknowledge the same thing around 7:00, saying the scooping is only for practice?
