- We lost our dear Lucky... but thankful he went quick, and didn't suffer. Still hurts us as we really became connected to this sweet boy.
Finished hoof trimming, and even did the boys!!
Found a pretty messed up eye on another boy, so I treated for infection and took a pic for my vet to look at.
My wool is washed!! So let the magic begin!!
AND...
We got to celebrate a Friday night with friends and colleagues as a good friend and mentor retires this year.
Finished the week at Jack's to fix his basement... and it was worse than we hoped.

The love you gave Lucky, is undeniable. Giving him that _lucky_ chance to stay when all his fellows left the farm really did make him special. He'll be part of the heavenly flock we all count trying to get to sleep to dream of that Lucky Boy. 💜
Beautifully said!💙
Thank you for saying what I couldn’t. Rest In Peace Lucky.🙏♥️🐑
Will miss Lucky just like we miss all our favorites. Condolences to you both. 💕 Your videos 😢❤❤❤❤❤
I can not imagine a farmer not being affected by the lose of their animal. From birth to first baby to last day. And crossing over the rainbow bridge.
You are not heartless. Far from it. Your sheep are your living and your life. They grew with your kids from high school to collage. Through Jesses illness and healing. You are so strong yet tender and sweet. Never forget how far you have come.
Aww... Poor Lucky. 😢 We hardly got to know ye, laddie. Thinking back to when Sandi decided that full breed Suffolk rams were too big to manage, especially when it came to chores like hoof trimming - we always wondered what was special about this fellow, who she chose to keep. Wasn't it around the time that Goat was ailing? There is something so endearing about those floppy ears and kind natures.
He passed away old, warm, and happy. Plus with a lot of breeding females around him. What more could a male sheep ask for.
Yeah, he was kind of living a playboy's dream!
@@saga2964Definitely a Lucky Boy. ❤
Lucky refused to leave on the trailer and he left on his own terms. It always hard to lose the special ones! A farmer who no longer forms attacments is a farmer who time is done with frming. Never ever regret forming attachements and loving on the critters Sandi!!!
Well said! Too many farmers/ranchers keep going when they should stop because they only see the animals $ on the hoof or/and only work.
So sorry about Lucky!
😢 Lucky was loved and he left after telling you and Carissa bye . It is like he waited for yall to be gone from the barn. Sending hugs.
I thought the same thing. ❤💔❤️
That was hilarious when you kept trying to get her to go under and she wouldn't. Then you opened a door and she went down under and through.
I am so sorry about Lucky.
I could never do your job. You have all my respect for you doing this job. I would want to keep everyone one of them.
As always, thank you for sharing with us ❤❤❤
you said exactly what i was thinking
Cinny is like ‘yes, I know this area is for lambs- that’s why I’m here, I’ll always be your little lamb! 🐑 “
Cinny is the sheep limbo champ! She is amazing ! 🤣😄
Billy is lookin good!, I'm so sorry about Lucky passing away. He was an important contributor to the succession and development of your line of sheep. A "forefather" of your generational line! Kudos, Lucky!, RIP❤❤❤❤
I have been a silent but dedicated watcher of your channel for years now and had to comment as Lucky was one of my favorites in your flock. Thank you for giving Lucky so much love and being with him in his final moments. He fathered a lot of great sheep for you. His antics will always be remembered!
Lucky had a GREAT LIFE. He had a peaceful natural death. We should all be so fortunate. He got head rubs & love, then took a nap. I'm sorry for your heart..
Cinnamon is just all the good things...❤
Just a reminder, he was one happy boy at your barn. 💞💚💞
The care you give all your animals YOU ARE NOT HEARTLESS.Its also sad when we half to be reminded THIS IS A BUISSNESS.I was attached to all my wonderful friendly buisness sheep. We Love you.
I am not sure I have ever went from crying to out right laughing so fast in my life. Sandi opening the gate for Cinnamon to go through and Cinnamon was like "oh I know how to get out" killed me.
Sandi, I'm so sorry to you, Carissa and the sheep for the loss of Lucky.
Cinnamon cracks me up! Thanks for giving Lucky a wonderful life. He really was lucky!
Lucky is with Ruby and Goat, munching on all the food they loved best.
Thank you “Lucky” for the joy, happiness & love you gave to SO MANY of us. Your legacy WILL carry on and your spirit shall continue to live forever. We will ALWAYS love you. Thank you for being YOU❣️ love always….
Jack is fortunate to have parents who know how to fix things❤ both you and Mark are amazing 🥰.
Lucky provided so many lambs over the years. He had a good life.
I’m so sorry about Lucky. He was one of the characters of the barn. Sad news. 😞
Then I laughed at Cinnamon’s antics. Wouldn’t go through the lamb gate, then you disconnect the panel and out the lamb gate she goes. Big Mama must have told her to keep you on your toes with that one! 😀
The thing people don't understand is that with you your animals have the best life they can have until it's their time to go . Without you they may not have the same quality of life.
7:05 how very typically sheep! “I can’t go out there! It’s too small! (In spite of having gotten in there). OK, here’s an open gate. “Nope, not doing that, I’ll go through the small hole.” 😂😂
I've always loved Lucky! So sorry he's passed on...thanks for the smiles Lucky.
It’s never easy to lose an animal wether it’s a “farm” or a “pet” cause even if we have them to pull our buggies, sleds,, plows, sell for food or just a companion they always take a small piece of your heart with them! You’re not cold hearted or calluses you’re human!❤❤❤
at nine and he was still making lambs. I think that is what a sheep would call a good life. He served you well and you did your best for him.
I initially started to watch this while I was out having a coffee and had to stop once I realized what it was about and wait until I got home because I knew I'd cry. Rest easy sweet Lucky. Sandi you gave him a wonderful life. Love and light ❤
I am so sorry about Lucky. He's with Ruby, Ruthie, Goat and so many others now. You are such a good shepherdess. I love the red sheep and the white with black faces as well.
Lucky, Ruby and Goat are in heaven frolicking in the clover fields. May they be forever happy.
BEST VIDEO! I CRIED FOR LUCKY. LAUGHED ABOUT CINNAMON. My condolences about Lucky. He was a good boy. Beautiful 😍 Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing. GBY'ALL!
7:06: 😯😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😅 Cinnamon for the win!👍
I sometimes wonder if they do that on purpose to remind us that they have good lives while they're here and that _they_ still _need_ -- and want -- us no matter whatever else we're facing. _That there's still joy in the world._
I am sorry for the loss of Lucky.
Lucky was always my favorite on the farm. I grew up raising Suffolks and love seeing the little black face lambs when we knew he was the daddy. Sending hugs.
Cinny has a sense of humor.
So sorry that Lucky has gone. He thoroughly enjoyed his time with you all. Cinnamon was so funny getting through the bars. Quite the character.
The stubborn suffolk that wouldn't let you get tags in so he got to stay, he knew what he was doing he got WAY more ladies lol
Oh Sandi , so sorry about Lucky! But I do enjoy Mark being a part of your videos and hoping Jack gets his home back together ❤
The way she had to wait for the door to be opened before going out the way she came in! 😂
😂😂🚧🐑😂😂
I had to pause it for a moment to catch my breath and wipe my eyes. 😂😂😂
So FUNNY... That is exactly the way my day went yesterday!
So funny!!!!!!
@@hex310 that has been my day today. 😮💨🤣
Laughter through tears within the first 8 minutes. ❤
Only 11 minutes after posting and 2.1K views. Just reminding you of how much we love and support you! So sorry for your loss❤️.
Very sorry about the loss of Lucky. He passed peacefully. Love your videos!
I’ve realized that sheep are like children. They will make you look like a fool and make a lier out of you every time!
Poor Lucky 🍀 may he rest in peace and my condolences to you and Carissa, losing a pet is like losing a child. 😢
Awww. Sweet Lucky. Rest well boy. Roam free grazing with your ladies on the othe side
Losing a good companion and friend is never easy. Sandy, your empathy is undeniable. Sweet Lucky will truly be missed ❤
So sorry for your loss. Lucky will now be with Ruby and others in heaven.🙏🙏
Oh Sandi💔. So sad to see Lucky has passed . This one hit close to home as I lost my gelding of 32 years yesterday. More tears shed for you. You are the best and your animals are so "Lucky" to have you. 😢❤
😢
I feel your pain. No matter how long they share their time with us, it's never long enough.
I'm so sorry for your loss, sometimes we have a special animal that stays with a long time here on earth, and it still feels too short. He will be with you forever in your heart.
Lucky will never be forgotten from all the babies he produced to all the various videos.
Wasn't Lucky missing an ear tag?
❤❤
Billy just standing there while Lucy barks is the best and cinnamon getting in the lambs pen😂😂
Lucky was a super loved, it is obvious to all those who watched you interact with him ❤
I’m so sorry about lucky😢 it must be hard to lose any animal but especially after so many years. To think anyone can say ur heartless is ridiculous with all the care you put into this. Its obvious to all your genuine supporters that you put your heart ❤ into everything you do ❤
Watching Cinnamon was a hoot - animals will always find a way!
You and Carissa gave him a wonderful life!
BTW, I love your haircut. ❤❤❤❤
Got a great laugh out of getting mama back in her pen. Murphys Law!
Just when you think you help a sheep they go through the gate the way they came in. Priceless! Made me chuckle. Sorry, about losing Lucky. Having a friendly sheep for so long and losing them must be hard. May he rest easy.
Can’t believe how great the nanny lambs look.
Lucky will surely be missed. A big void in the barn, you provided him a safe and loving home and exchange he has provided your ewes many babies to always remind you of him ❤🙏
2:43 Wow, Kinsey is a sporty and fit gal, jumping over the fence like it was nothing! 😳🥇
So very sorry about Lucky.
Laughed. Out. Loud. 😂🤣😂 You opened the gate for her, and then she zooms UNDER the other opening. 😂
Thank you for all the beautiful babies Lucky! You will be missed
Losing am animal is always heartbreaking. 🫂🫂🫂
Such sad news about sweet little Lucky. You gave him such a good life, he always seemed so happy to see you! Losing any animal you've developed a bond with is tough, I'm sorry for your loss. 😢
Laughed so hard when Cinnamon made you open the side panel then went through the other opening like she was supposed to! that was hilarious! Oh My! rofl!
Poor Lucky. The both of you must be hurting. It's hard to lose a beloved animal for whom you have cared and raised.
Noticing how much Piper & Lucy are becoming shepherding dogs. Following Kinsey's every move, and loving it all. Lucy's diet seems to be coming along well. Big hugs and take care!'
The love you gave Lucky, is undeniable, Rest In Peace Lucky
Omgosh Sandi, you ARE NOT heartless, far from it!! You give your heart and soul to every lamb that comes to your farm. Lucky had the BEST life possible, and it was YOU Sandi that gave it to him. Your simply the best!! RIP Lucky ❤ 🐏❤🐏❤. Love and God Bless always ❤ ✝️ Jennifer
P.S. Cinnamon is such a character 😂 just adore her 🐑
The gate-challenged ewe made me laugh 😆
Lucky passed peacefully, quietly on his own terms. We can only hope for such a passing.
RIP LUCKY. You love every animal you have and it shows by how well you take care of them, hoof trims, feed adjustments, pets, talking to them, noticing the slightest difference in their appearance and so many more things we see you do on a daily basis. This is your job but on so many levels it’s so much more. Thank you for showing us every side of you and your family. ❤💜♥️
So sorry about Lucky! He was definitely a special ram!
I love your respect for the circle of life. It’s perfectly OK to mourn.
RIP Lucky, sorry for your loss Sandy. He was one of my favorites too
Lucky was always one of my favorites. Sweet boy said goodbye and left while you were away. Some people and creatures do hold on until they've seen everyone important, and/or choose to pass when they're not around. He was a sweet gentle boy who lived a great life. He will go on to help your crops grow strong. Who could ask for a better life. ❤
Mark: Today's Thursday my love. Ok, who the hell is that guy and what has he done with the real Mark? On second thought, never mind, I'm really loving this guy! 😉
Ohhh no... sorry to hear about Lucky. 😔 Hope next week is better! Sending some SoCal sunshine and hugs!💛
I am so sorry to hear of Lucky’s passing. I am sure that Ruby and the others greeted him when he got up there.
I am so sorry to hear about Lucky passing. He was a beautiful gram, and he gave you guys some absolutely gorgeous babies for many years.
I had to smile when you were trying to get that lamb to leave the area under the bar, as soon as you open a side fence, it decided to go under. Sad losing a lamb you have loved for years.
Love to you all from Mike ❤
I’m so sorry Sandy, you are so sweet to your sheep, they are lucky to have you as their BoPeep! ❤
Wow like nine year's old. That's incredible for a ram.
❤
Poor young man what a job to clean up the flooding damages. Best wishes
Aw, Lucky.. He was my favorite after Goat... I love the suffolk sheeps... They're so pretty!!!
Hugs to you. Lucky was a good boy and lived his best life with you!
Yeah, Wednesday was a tearjerker for me also. 😭 I finally made the call on Pudge, my CH kitty with CKD. He was down to 4.5 lbs.- just skin & bones, basically. The vet discovered that his canines were infected, which meant he WAS in pain. He was almost 17 years old. I had puffy eyes for a couple of days. 😭😧 My condolences to you on Lucky's passing. 🤗🤗
Making the decision is so awful! I am hugging you.
My condolences to you on Pudge's passing. Hugs and kisses and warm compresses for your puffy eyes.
My old fellow is also 17. So far, appetite and body functioning is good, but needs antiinflammatories to help with joints. Still jumping into my recliner and onto the bed.
I'm not looking forward to a future without him, but cherishing the time I have left with him.
I'm so sorry for your loss 😢 it's so hard to lose them 😢😢😢🥺! Take care of yourself, please.
I had to make the decision to put down my 3 tear old dog. She started having trouble breathing. They took an gray that showed a tumor that wend down her entire right side. Her right lung wasn't working anymore and it had spread ti her lynph nodes. The ver said she probably had the tumer when she was born.
Awww... I had a CH kitty that I raised from the age of 10 days old until he passed at just over 10 years old from cardiac issues. Losing our fur babies is heartbreaking, my condolences.
We know how much you love your animals. I'm sure I'm joined by many who pray for comfort 🙏. Your love and compassion is evident. As is Carissa's. Big Hugs for you and her. ❤
I laughed alot watching Cinny's antics with the creep pen gate and you offering her passage through the open gate.😂
I didn't know Lucky was failing. I'm sorry he died, but glad he is not suffering.
I like the Suffolk sheep breed. They are very majestic with their black heads and legs.
So sorry for Lucky's passing. As a home for senior labrador retrievers I know the heartache all too well. Let the precious memories he gave so freely and the legacy of his prodigy help you and Clarissa through this time. He was truly one lucky boy.
I am so sorry about Lucky. 😢. You gave him a beautiful life!!! Another sweet soul added to Heaven's pastures. I'm with you, I love Eamon and Bec too!! That sourdough bread looks amazing!!! 🤤. I hope you have an amazing week ahead!!
Lucky had a good life, girls to hang with guys too hang with food served to him daily. But the circle of life goes forward he's left a legacy. Hope Jack gets his basement dried in properly, thank goodness he's got talented parents willing to help him.
That mama in the crip feed area was the sheep example of weaponized incompetency !! 😂😂😂
So sorry for you😢 Lucky is in the most luscious meadow jumping around like a spring lamb.
All the things we do for our children. Today at 72, I can truly say, thank you for all the things my kids do for us. Love your videos.
Sorry to hear about lucky. He will be missed when you would go in to barn to the boys he would jump up to greet you. But he had a good life and he was loved by all.😢
So sorry for your loss Sandy. It is like losing a family member. Fly high Lucky and enjoy all of the yummy treats in Heaven.
Luckys luck ran out but he was a lovable boy which earned him his keep when the Suffolk got the cut. Holy cow you have so many boys now! I’ve been with ya since 2019 😊 man power!
What I loved most about Lucky, was the beautiful babies he made. I was both relieved & amused when he "escaped" the sales barn😅.
"Hey Sandi, I'm just too big to fit through the gate!"😂
I hope you get at least a couple more Suffolk like Lucky and Goat. The color they give your herd is amazing.🙏🏼💔
Sorry fat fingers! Pressed thumb down instead of up. Sorry about lucky passing. 😢
It’s a wonderful thing you do highlighting mental health challenges. It’s more common than people know so raising awareness helps people get the support they need without feeling shame.
Nothing warms my heart more than the support you all give each other. The men working together to fix Jack’s home and all the times Jack and Jessica have come home to help during harvesting.
I really enjoyed your newsletter. I’m happy to listen to your monologue. 💙
we all miss Lucky, he took the chance to stay with the other rams, when you sell / to replace the old rams - just a gentle giant
Aww Lucky was such a beautiful ram. He will be missed so much, but he definitely was a lucky Lucky living with you on the farm.
In 2023 I was gifted some pet ewe’s from a neighbour and I love them so very much. Then in August the breeder called me, asking if I could take a newborn orphan ewe lamb. She was a house lamb for the first two weeks of her life and she is the most amazing ewe, I love her so very much. Then for Christmas the breeder gave me one of his pet ewe’s who had her lamb in October (Australian spring is your autumn/fall).
I am excited about this year, because we are getting a lovely ram this breeding season (who belongs to my local breeder). The six ewe’s have a 6 acre paddock, and we plan to fence the rest of our farm so they can rotate around.
I will be so unbelievably sad when I have to say goodbye to my ewe’s. Especially since they are pet’s, similar to your golden girls.
As it’s the middle of summer here in Victoria, Australia, I love seeing all the lovely snow. But it must be a lot of work just working around the weather.
Sending love to you, your family, Carissa and your flock!
Janelle
I'm so sad Lucky is gone, but oh my He was a LUCKY boy all his life in your barn. But I know the heart ache when a favorite passes. Hugs and blessings to you and Carissa
Condolences for Lucky ..... he hung in there for a long time and glad he was able to stay on the farm ... hope you get another Suffolk ram, they're a great terminal sire
Such a chuckle when Cinnamon wouldn't go under the white bar until you opened up the pen for her to go out. One can never figure out why animals do the things they do. So sorry for your loss of Lucky.
Sandi you are such a lovely woman inside and out. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
So happy to hear sports teams are valuing mental health of their players 👏👏👏👏👏
I am so sorry for your loss.. You are an amazing person who loves their animals.. Thank you so much for sharing your life
Well, dang. Lucky had a great life with you. He will be missed. What a character he was
