@@kayaaajay She had a high paying position before deciding wedding cakes were more fun. She applied for apprenticeship and did a morning shift for baking with her other job as her main job, then quit her main job doing cakes for a bit.

I am 51 years of age and came across the Streamer Awards. Even though I am not familiar with 90% of the streamers, I found it informative and enjoyable. It's fascinating the direction the internet has taken. The self deprecating humor when Tom Brokaw is predicting that the internet is going to revolutionize science and medicine only to proceed with a bunch of clips where people are just doing the stupidest things made me laugh. Self awareness, and then the ability to laugh at oneself,........ Amazing!
This type of awards show really brings to light that a vast majority of streamers are not just turning on a cell phone and recording random things (some, maybe), but take the time and resources to have a higher quality production video. These are almost like multiple mini studios bringing to the fore why so many utilize Patreon and the like to generate revenue.
I know there are some who might criticize the show comparing it to the Oscars, but I applaud what has been created. This is in it's infancy, so why would you chastise a two year old for not sprinting, yet? QT, thank you! If anyone in the industry paid attention, they would recognize that YOU COULD run an event such as the Oscars. 👏👏👏👏👏

She's got that personality that you can tell even if you've not seen any of her interviews, that she's been through bad shit that has tempered her. She's never let it break her and she's just amazing.

The Streamer Awards were amazing. It's crazy how QT can bring all the different communities and streamers together under one roof. She literally just created the Oscars for streamers. LOVE IT!!

Her just wanting to bring people together knowing that she was probably doing it at a loss is just amazing, very inspiring and a lot of viewers and streamers said they enjoyed themselves. I thought it was great too!
This event was awesome. Not only did you bring a bunch of people together, but you also provided a great platform to highlight people who have done great things in a niche platform. Can't wait for next year!

Just want to say you have a great sense for what is "toxic". I think its really easy to get sucked into saying inflammatory things because they are interesting, and you care for other people really shines when you refuse to do it. Loved the awards and looking forward to the return of wine about it!
I might not be an avid QT watcher but I do enjoy the content she puts out. She's great, and watching all these events that she hosts. I'm glad she does it. When I do drop by a stream, it's fun and chill. Seeing her smile and laugh with her friends, it's great. Watching the award ceremony stream, made streaming feel like it has a chance to compete with something as big globally like the Emmys or the Oscars. Obviously, I don't think that's QT's goal but her hosting the awards just made streaming feel so much bigger and just as important!
The streamer awards is literally my fav event besides the master baker, love your content and the amount of work you put into them.

straight up, QT, i am a longtime convention staffer. next event you run like this, is there a way i can like. volunteer to be your PA and make sure you're fed and watered. I will keep my noise out of everything else, i swear, u just work SO hard and the mental health sounds like its trying to not be healthing and like. AAAA ur amazing and deserve to experience the fun of ur events a bit as well. either way, sounds AMAZING and thank you so much for answering questions and doing this.

It's so sad to hear about your disassociation and inability to be proud of yourself. We're all proud of you, it seems like you're achieving your mission of bringing the community together, and I'm glad you got fulfillment out of it!
for such an erratic or flighty industry, the streamer awards really allows for a great time stamp on what was or is happening. clips, trending games, and significant moments get brushed aside so quickly that it's nice to have something substantial in the midst of the rat race.
actually such an icon and inspiration. she puts so much effort in to everything she does and no matter how much credit she gets it will never be enough.

My only complaint is that QT won't let herself get nominated for anything. She absolutely deserves it, and I think she would handily win best event regardless of if there was that association of her running the awards or not

There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes of these kind of events.
Getting to watch this event live was the highlight of my weekend. It's a small thing but a big ask, but I think if they could figure out how to mic up the crowd more so we can hear them better between jokes that'd make a big difference. All the lulls/silences in between were a little awkward from home

Honestly QT I'm so proud of you, it's clear that you've worked so hard on this, and I hope everything pulls through money wise. You absolutely deserve it and I'm sure everyone had a great time; I know I did watching it! I understand what you mean about not being able to feel proud of yourself, it's often I feel this way as well even if I know I did a good job in theory. As a small streamer the Streamies are yet another motivation for me and I'm sure it is for many others as well! Keep it up, what you're doing is fantastic and so are you!
Subbed with my prime that's been laying around for months now (I don't go to twitch often) during the Awards. It's free for me and if it helps pay for the absolutely amazing event and months of QT's (and probably her team's) hard work to make it that way, hey, that's a win.
Also, much respect for talking about mental health, like mentioning going to therapy, talking about stuff she talked about in the Anthony Padilla interview, and much more. We need to normalize this stuff, and I think it's great to see someone talk about it, as much as they're comfortable (but it's ok to not talk about it, if it's better for one's mental health, it's not an obligation just because you're an online figure).

I'm a little upset that there won't be any Valorant awards next year, but it's honestly so shitty how some of the community acts when they don't get their way. Totally understand why she's taking it out, and it's lowkey deserved.
What happened? When she mentioned people not wanting targets on their backs, that made me go yikes. I thought Valorant was chill. It's so disappointing when toxic folk ruin it for everyone else.
It's amazing QT conceived of this idea, and then did all the work to execute and it turned out so well. I watched the pre-show and show live, great job!

Wouldnt it be easier to just tell the person presenting an award how to pronounce the names of their respective nominees before they walk on stage to announce them than to type the names out phonetically on the envelope?
Either way great job QT! You could tell that you put a lot of work into many many aspects of the award show and I really really love how this event commemorates big events and streamers while also elevating smaller creators and communities!
Hidden gem is def a good category. There’s a good amount of small streamers that are upcoming as of now as well.

To anyone that can make this happen- eventually QT truly deserves to receive the streamer of the year award. Not for having the most views or for having the most subs, but for exactly what she’s talking about here. She sinks money into the streamer awards, she exercises quality control for the community (see how she handled Minx, Valorant), and she just focuses on making the streaming space a safe and enjoyable place for creators and consumers. And, the cherry on top is that when she’s done spending her own money and working her @$$ off to host everyone, she literally just thanks everyone for letting her do it. S Tier creator.
Seeing the Valo community react the way they did was so saddening but not at all surprising. Riot is not particularly skilled at cultivating positive and healthy communities. The fact that Tarik wasn't even 2nd in the votes was surprising but also gave some vindication against the people that were a problem. Shows that anyone who was arguing that Tarik should have been the winner were just putting their own opinion above the majority. Every nominee was a great nomination, but the votes speak for themselves and Kyedae is the rightful winner. Thank you for a great award show QT, I cannot wait until next year's!
I feel pretty confident saying this is an event almost all streamer enjoyers will be looking forward too for the future, I really hope you keep doing this and find a way to make big bucks!

You have to consider viewership with regard to investment, and she barely broke even. That being said, she does have seriously high standards for herself, and really low standards for others, which is quite unhealthy for her, but she knows and ultimately that kind of healing doesn't happen in a day or even a year, it can take decades. Still an amazing event, truly remarkable.

@@madgodfan4652 I just watched Hasan's recap of the awards. He knows what the numbers are and said the rates were unbelievably low if you compare to conventional TV. They probably should be making millions.
I think if it was allowed to vote QT for a category, it woulr be a league of their own. QT is making these huge events for the community like nobody else. She said herself that her content is niche, her events are something else.

I thought I'd missed it because I was trying to figure out time zones and stuff so I was so disappointed, but the interviews at the start gave plenty of time to realise. I mainly watched for Alluux and Wubby but really enjoyed the entire show. Awesome work by QT and everyone involved.

It's a shame the valo award won't be there next year, but it's a good lesson to other communities that being toxic/hateful to winners benefits nobody especially the one who they want to win. Tarik in this case was extremely disappointed at those toxic people
I just caught that you can't see how to be proud of yourself, and in a sense, I think that's slightly healthier than being proud of yourself all the time. You have to always put yourself in the position of always being able to improve, and personally I believe you did so this year. Last year's venue was smaller, and the live audience on the balcony was an awesome new element this year. I still haven't had the time to see the whole event, but from what I've seen I have to give you huge props. Keep getting better buddy as I know you will.

I think (which means really wish and hope) companies need to take a look at this video. Right there she told you how much advertising they would get for the, what, couple hours of the streamer awards?
So you would make a crap ton of advertising and help reach an arguably desirable market that companies have a hard time marketing to and QT would be able to do more/pay less out of pocket for this cool arse event.

I used to have a coworker that I really liked talking with, but over time I learned that I was just entertainment to them and they didn't care about me in the slightest. So I just shut them out, and eventually they left the job.

People are always gonna hate but QT deserves recognition and more help with such a huge production.
