    Great review! I'm a sucker for buying vehicles with high maintenance so this would be perfect for me. Gorgeous bike.

    Nice bike and video. One of the first things I did to my B3 800 was removed the pillion brackets and covered the holes. The bike has much better lines without them.

    Wife had a 675 Brutale, throttle was terrible couldn't wait to get rid of it, plus Sprag issues.

    Bike has been traded for a red and black Suzuki GSXS 1000. Lots of owners got wary of ownership out of warranty given the cost of sprag clutch replacement which still hasn't been fixed. Loved the bike but I ride as a means stress relief. When it became a worry not knowing if I'd get stuck in the middle of nowhere with a bike that may not start, and the cost of sprag clutch replacement being over AU$1000 it was time to move on. Better do a Suzuki review now I guess. The MV was fun while it lasted.

      Hi,
      I took a 2015 Dragster 800 for a test ride a few days ago and really enjoyed it. I was wondering if the issue with sprag clutch replacement is ongoing with 2016 models? Is there a way to extend the bike warranty? May I ask how much was the 12, 000km service? I am like you in the sense that I don't want to worry about reliability when I ride! I test rode a 2016 Triumph Street Triple RX and thought that it was a great bike too. I guess that it might be less stress to own a Triumph. How do you find the GSXS 1000?

      Drjfever ..... Any sellers regret?

    • @Drjfever
      @Drjfever  Před 4 lety

      John LeBaron. No, no regrets. MV has reduced their output of bikes and raised the price of their bikes but nothing has changed re: ongoing issues as any of the MV Facebook sites will attest. I wish MV would just fix issues properly. If I could put a Japanese sprag in the bike for reliability I’d still have it as it was gorgeous.

    Owned the exact same year and model in grey.Never again!Absolute disgrace with sprag clutch issues and lack of service agents in New Zealand.Save your money, buy a poster of your favorite MV and buy a Suzuki.

    After fifteen years of not being satisfied with the reliability of the MV Agusta F4 Brutale it has been finally rectified by the MV Agusta dealer that is situated at James Ruse Drive Parramatta. They have had the motorcycle for a whole year. They could not fault it. I insisted that they go for a 100 km road ride. After many months of not wanting to go for a ride (I said that I would pay for the time) they relented and went for a ride. Yes it broke down. The fault, the high revving motor was causing the alternator to overheat and stop charging and the battery would go flat. Why did it take fifteen years to find the fault? The motorcycle is now being enjoyed once again. The cost of the diagnosis (after I even told them my opinion) and the repairs? $2500.00. What a heart beak this motorcycle turned out to be.

    Well done review, I have read you've moved on to Suzuki. I have a '14 Brutale 800 with just over 2K miles. No sprag clutch issues.....during your ownership did you personally have the problem with this machine?

    Have the same bike, a 2015 model. Luckily I haven't had any problem with the sprag clutch yet. But I can hear rattle noise from rear siden at low rpm, round 2-3000. Did you experience that?

    Significant amount of seat of the pants difference. 800 is much stronger. Better for the more experienced rider. Just wished they made them reliable with the sprag clutch - I'd still have it otherwise.

    Thinking of buying this as a started. Do you think this is too much power? I heard that as long as you respect the power you will be fine? Thoughts?

    When you buy a motorcycle you expect to be able to ride it without breakdown. After sixty kilometres the motorcycle stops. It can take up to an hour before it will start again.

      i have this exact bike. im 5’ 5” and it feels like it was designed for someone my size. your legs may feel cramped and you’ll be very upright. check out adam waheeds review he’s like 6’ 2” i think. i think ultimately it depends on your riding style. but imo most likely not the bike for you from an ergonomic perspective.

    The MV Agusta is unreliable and so is the MV Agusta factory. They do not honour their warrantee obligations.
