    How a cooker's air flow is managed depends on it's overall design. On our Gators, no problem. Air intake vents, firebox size, hole between firebox and food chamber, stack placement, size stack, height of stack, etc all play an integral part in the flow or distribution of air through out the cooker. Our design does not have any air flow issues. No restrictions to cause stale smoke/ heat control issues. Stacks fully open and our air intake vents on the firebox open and you will be just fine.

    Designed right and it is not a problem. We have designs that take weight distribution into consideration. Front to rear and side to side. Why we are known world-wide for our designs and have a cliental that spans the globe. That Gator can be pulled down the freeway at 70 MPH easily with the appropriate 3/4 or 1 Ton pickup. Ritch

    I've heard that there are problems with keeping the heat in the cooking chamber of smokers, if the bottom of the stacks are placed up high in the chamber. Is this a real problem, or just a myth?

  • @GatorPitofTexas
    @GatorPitofTexas  Před 11 lety

    Not sure I understand the question. You aren't around/over any open fire. The door counterweights are positioned such that you aren't reaching over the heat of the racks. Hope, that answers your question. Ritch

  • @leroygreen1877
    @leroygreen1877 Před 5 lety

    O do I want one, price is reasonable for that kind of quality. One problem if a guy buys one from Washington State how would he get it home from TX? Can you add a custom cooking upright cabinet to the value line 40 inch offset? I know it will cost more but can it be done? Most people here don't appreciate true hand made quality!

    @zundappchef : The doors are counterweighted and they also serve as door stops. As they assist in lifting the door they hit on the backside of the smoke chamber. Extremely easy to open and close. When open, the door handle is just above eye level, making it very easy to open and close. No burn. I assure you of that. We'll thought out and designed by Gator Pit.

      Not sure what you are referencing or stating when you say "Kettle" compared to a 33 foot long mobile cooker, 8 feet wide, just under 11K pounds, and can cook for 2000 people a day????????????????? So, you "prefer my kettle, hands down." Sorry, but I am just a bit confused. That comparison or statement is relevent to this video in what way? Just asking! Ritch Robin

      Quentin Mosley Takes approx. 2 months for 2 -3 Welders to fabricate. The labor alone is over 60K. Keep in mind, these are hand-made. To build at today's costs, labor, material, shop, you are looking around 100K.
