- A move to punish four backbench commissioners of parliament who are accused of giving themselves UGX 1.7 billion in total without the consent of parliament has been met with resistance from certain members of parliament. Opponents claim that the motion lacks evidence and that the gathering of signatures is against the procedural procedures of parliament. Theodore Ssekikubo, the motion's proposer, claims they are not breaking any laws and that they have already gathered 131 of the 177 signatures needed to advance the proposal.

I am really disappointed by all participants. If it was passed in a budget, it was a budget for which year? These people paid themselves in May of 2022. Was this from the budget of 2021/2022 or that of 2022/2023? This could not have been in the 2021/2022 budget because some of the mentioned commissioner were not yet there. It can not be from the 2022/2023 budget, because that budget only start running in June/July of 2022. So in which budget was this money allocated?
