You are now my favourite! Thanks for the support!
The International Space Station crew just called.
They like your watch.
Just pick one up last week in the sandy colour. Even though I have a 6.5 inch wrist and i was worried it would be too big, it isn't, and it fits lovely. Its so legible, and when im outside, pilots in low flying aircraft can see the time. 😊
Thanks for another great video as always.
Superb my friend!
I purchased one of these in khaki a few months ago and love it. It’s hard to beat for the price and the ten year battery is a plus. Another one I use a lot is the SGW-300H. It has an altimeter, barometer, temperature, world time, and more and the time is visible while using other modes. Have a great day! 🙏🏼
I’ll check it out!!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR the trt-110 is where its at....mud resist, super illumniator, front facing light button, vibration alarm...... for 25 pounds.....its basicly a mudman
@@michielroskam3877 I have that one also but it doesn’t have the sensors of the other one and the buttons are hard to push and the display is smaller. Still a great watch though. 👍🏻
@@LS1007 prob talking bout different watxh, buttons are perfect
@@michielroskam3877 The TRT-110 Mudman like all of the Mudman series have harder to push buttons than other Casios because they have double gaskets. I have a TRT-110H with blue accents.
This is my favorite budget Casio. Yes, it’s too big. But it takes advantage of that size to create that huge, legible display. And that is the star of the show.
I am not a big watch guy. Most of my watches are under 40mm. That said this watch rocks. It has all the basic function you need and as the MWC says you can see it from space. No more squinting at the date on my Casio Royal. Love the channel, cant wait to see your field watch.
Picked up one of these a month back. Very legible, and Its so available and cheap, It has become my go to beater.
I bought the khaki version around 7 months ago and loved it so much that I had to get the white and the grey versions with the negative displays.
I still have a variety of g shocks, so I surprise myself at how often I choose to wear these instead. Great value!
I got the fever for this watch also and have 4 versions of it. I have one mounted on my motorcycle.
I'm so glad you covered this one. I think it's the ideal watch for anyone wearing gloves or with vision issues or with limited dexterity. Perfect for OAPs come to think of it. Probably wasn't the demographic Cassio had in mind. I got This one in Desert Sand with the idea I'd wear it on hikes and outdoors. However , it has ended up being my daily watch. It's so easy to press the buttons, so easy to set a three minute timer for tea,and so easy to read at a glance. The khaki color goes with almost anything I wear, and it kind of blends in rather than stands out. And I know it's tough so when I do take it out on a hike, it's ready to go. I wear this more than any other watch.
I picked up this exact watch for a mere £20 in a Walmart in Florida last year. I flippin love it.
The amazing legibility and easy to use buttons means it generally gets more wrist time than my 6 'proper' G-Shocks.
Another big casio easy that is on the wallet is Tough Solar
AQ-S810W-1AVCF. Features solar power, analog face and hands, dual time, stopwatch, countdown timer.
The main shortcomings are the tiny digital display and the pathetic backlight.
There are also slightly smaller sister models that are not comically large.
I have the negative display one and I call it my "Casio Equalizer" because it reminds me of the Suunto Core All Black that Densel wears in the Equalizer movies
yep my negative one also reminds me of Denzel's watch in that movie and since Suunto call theirs Core All Black i called mine Casio N for..
I have the tan one for regular wear and the black one for work. Iam an hvac service tech, so it gets hammered and takes it no problem. I would definitely stay away from the negative display, very hard to see. Great back light, can read it at night without my glasses. Love the channel!
I purchased the khaki version back in 2021. Rarely wore it so I gifted it to my neighbor who's 20 years my senior. He said, "I don't even need my glasses to see the time!" Then in 2022, I bought the black version for myself. The five multifunction alarms do come in handy. You are absolutely right! There is nothing new under the sun! This is the Casio Mudman prototype!
An absolute banger. I have an olive positive one and a grey negative display one. The negative display is very legible with the giant display. Amazing watches.
This is an awesome discovery! I have an F-91w that I used to wear in Northern Mozambique in 2011. It was not long after that I started to need reading glasses which was a bit annoying when it came to reading the LCD digits. So I never went down the G-Shock route (much as I admire them). This one really is for me, many thanks!
Quick edit: mine is arriving at my brothers place on Monday for me to pick up when I'm back in the UK!
Just bought this one couple weeks ago and it's the perfect budget beater, plus with so many features!
Just ordered mine today off of Amazon. Got it for twenty one dollars and some change. Can't wait to get her. Yeah !!! 😎👍
I'm a truck driver and the legibility of the display instantly grabbed my attention. It's so legible at a glance. The amber illuminator is awesome, too. I was really, really skeptical about how effective the backlight would be but it's bright and fantastic. And as far as budget Casios go, I paid $24 for it, then got a coupon for a Black Friday sale and got a second one for $18. Love this watch.
I’ve owned this for 12 months, LOVE IT bar the backlight but it’s perfect
I have also had this watch for several months, and now it's basically the only watch that I use. As you get older, you start to appreciate legibility, and this watch has all the features that I need. Mostly, I use a timer for cooking and an alarm to wake me up. The alarm on this model is particularly loud compared to my G-Shock, which has a very weak sound
I've got two of these, the black one you featured and also a khaki one. I love these watches. They are some of the few watches that I can get to fit my big old wrist without having to change out their original band for a NATO band or something. I think they look great on my big wrist. And the big displays are super easy to read. Love them both and along with my big old GW-9400-1D Rangeman probably wear them more then any of my other watches.
Had one a while and use for work, it’s very good, thinking about adding other colour versions , it was about £27 on Amazon when I got it,
Great watch indeed. I have owned the dark grey version with negative display, AE-1500WH-8BVEF, for 2.5 years. Because of the large numbers I think the negative display works very well, and it hides the hot spots of the backlight better than the positive display. It gets a lot of casual wear at home. I use it as my alarm clock, and for timing things when I'm cooking. Quite comfortable too. I wish Casio would release this same design as a G-Shock made from more premium materials. My main criticism would be the acrylic crystal which picks up scratches quite easily.
I got one of these on 2022 christmas , used it for training and excercises in the marine core , never had a problem other than scratches and ocasional bumps but man it has resisted some abuse
Quite interesting to me, largely because it has some of the major attributes of my Casio ProTrek PRG 330-1 (super-legible LCD, rugged case design), but the ProTrek manages to include stuff like a Triple-Sensor Tough Solar movement and digital compass in a considerably smaller package. The only issue here is that this ProTrek seems a good deal harder to find (at least here in the States), and while I lucked out on getting mine at a great price (US$80, sone three years back), the few I've seen lately run about double that. I'll still take it over most any G-Somethingorother. 😁
Had my khaki version for a year now. Nine to go! 😁 Awesome watch. Love the easy to read display. It exceeded my expectations for sure. definite G Shock vibes!
I've actually been meaning to get one of these to replace the current Casio I wear to work.
It’ll have a decade of work fun innit!!
I got this last year and I love it. I put mine on an elastic strap and I use it almost exclusively as my sleeping watch! Easy to read at 5am when the kiddos barge in asking for apple juice!
I got the khaki coloured version with negative display just before Christmas. Absolute bargain. Thank you for another fantastic show. Absolutely fabulous as usual Sir.
I bought one about an year ago that is dark grey with a negative display for work. It quickly became one of my favorite Casios ever.
What are the chances? I have picked up this exact model from the mail about 15 minutes ago. I'm wearing it right now while watching that video. One of the best values for money I have bought so far.🥳🥳🥳
I like mine, picked up two for $26 on a Blackfriday sale. Gave one to a watch-less bro as a gift. It’s a pretty freaking huge watch, and the Illuminator/WR text fades of the case pretty quickly, the resin screen does scratch more easily than my other Casio’s and the alarm isn’t as loud as on the F-91W, W800H, and A168, likely due to the thick rugged case. It’s basically a budget G-Shock, and it’s loaded with features. It has withstood, day to day work, landscaping, gardening, construction, ect so I’m pretty happy with it. Solid budget watch.
I have this exact model. It’s a good watch with clean readable lcd display but it’s a bit too chunky if you looking for a daily wear watch
MWC is the best Casio Ambassador on the planet.
The display looks the same as much more expensive protrek series references, the negative display version has excellent legibility, and a great pick up for sure, unless you are MWC wife, or my wife.
100m is such value for $.
I love my W800h negative display as a current daily, with that same 100m WR for my daily swim coach duties.
I have 3 of these because they’re so affordable and the most legible watches in my collection.
I have the olive green with positive display. 10 year battery (who needs solar), 100 meters of WR, and buttons I can actually push. It's a real.....Banger !
It’s no SGW-100 but not bad.
I’m going to say it until I pass out. = The SGW-100 is the best Casio or gshock ever made.
It’s awesome!
Legible, el light, compass, thermometer, world time, stop watch, 5 alarms with a snooze, count down timer and 200 meters water resistance!
The only con I think is there is no auto light and it is only a 60 min stop watch.
But only about $40usd
I’ve had mine for over 13yrs and only one battery change. It’s awesome!!!!
Just got this watch and I agree 100% Favourite watch I’ve ever owned
Own 3 of these, negative and positive displays. I love the stormtrooper look of the white one with the negative display. That ties in nicely with your wife's description of the space helmet. 😂
The black, green and khaki one. I love it.
Ooooooo yeah! WHO needs a GShock?!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR me. I have quite a few of them too 🤪🤓
I paid 13$ on their online website its a banger watch for the price i got no complaints.
I bought this model back in 2022 on father day. It can take a beating and till this day it’s my tru beater. Been to Korea and back with this watch. Active Duty, and I recommend my Soldiers on a budget watch I recommend this AE 1500. Mine is scratched, banged, mud, still strong 💪
Have had this watch for about a year now. Simply put, I love it. I don’t live a life that would warrant a G-shock, so this was a great choice for me. The strap is a bit long, but being “rubber?” I trimmed it a bit to fit my wrist better. Can’t beat the price, great watch for the money.
... Got this from the States through Amazon best thing about the delivery was there was no import tax arriving here in the UK. The watch is a blessing when your in your mid 50s and rely on glasses 24/7 lol!
Yes! Finally the 1500! That's my favorite! It has everything I need AND it's incredibly easy to see with a great light setup! I originally bought it for when I do my paranormal investigations to have something be quiet (no ticking), dependable and bright to read in pitch black but it became my go to watch quickly. I've got one of the negative displays but I don't use it as much as I find it hard to read at times.
I got one and it's a fantastic watch for the price for 20usd after discounts.. light, legible and lovely
Got mine in military blue. Love it!!
Your review reminded me of a Timex I bought a few years ago that is my walking/exercise watch. The Timex "Big Digits" TW5M41400 at just around $30. It is 45mm wide and just over 11mm in thickness. My eyesight isn't what it used to be and the large numbers are great. It also has "Indiglo" which doesn't hurt. Very similar to the Casio you reviewed but has a cleaner and slimmer look. Your wife might like that one better. LOL!
This is a watch that almost seems perfect for anyone in the military...the mud resist especially. Would like to see a durability test.
Casio is probably choosing amber leds because it helps preserve night vision. If you are in an area so dark you can't make out this display. You really just need a little light.
Great point my friend
Hi Russ. Hope you are well.
My son just gave me a GAW-100b.
It looks a bit like that, but cheaper.
I love my G’s, I now have 3…
All the best.👍🏾😉🇬🇧
recently received my g shock gprh1000 range man in yellow. great looking watch. mineral glass lets it down, yes its a fitness watch but i simply wanted the phone notification. I wish the more expensive g shocks could receive phone notifications. the mudmaster and the mr g watches.
love the show!
If you want to fuck up Gshock yes.
Great watch
I bought one just before Christmas for £24.99 from Argos. A real bargain!
I did same (managed to get it in blue/grey and after years of going back to analogue watches, this one has restored my faith in digital - what a beater. I bought a titanium automatic that seemed to be popular before Christmas, and this is more comfortable on wrist! Thinking of getting another colour. Casio triumphs again lol ;-)
Mine was the blue /grey as well@@nickclare5984
I just got one last week and I have not taken it off since. I do not know what to do with my 20 plus G-Shocks now because this watch really has it all for the price paid. I opted for the extra long band even though I have a small wrist but I choose that version because it has the double clasps which I like a lot. I am going to get the tan one next when Amazon restocks them. This is such a great watch and a true hit for Casio, if they upgraded this to a G-Shock by only adding Tough Solar and WR 200, it would be the only G-Shock that anybody would ever need. Easy to read, comfortable to wear, and just an amazing price. Thanks Mad Watch Collector for your videos, I appreciate you!
The G-Shock that I own and really adore, which is equally legible, is the G-2900F-1VER. I think you might like it because it‘s not so oversized but still extremely legible.
wait until you check out the WS-2100H ! it's a G-shock look-alike with a step counter. 5 alarms, countdown timer, stopwatch, dual time and something else that I can't remember
I purchase the dark grey with negative display a couple of months ago and it's great. Very readable. And for this value, no concern in case of scratch, shock etc.
I call it the "Expandable" .
For most of the people, it can totally replace a more expansive g-shock.
Love the video...man they should have a large display on the ProTreks or G-Shocks with the ABC modes.....
Absolutely
Another feature is that one of the five alarms has a "snooze" option. The alarm will go off every five minutes for seven times. If you press a button as the alarm is sounding, it will silence the alarm at that moment, but the alarm will then go off five minutes later just like the snooze on an alarm clock.
My personal fav AE1500 are the WHX ones with the extendo strap
Great for winter over-the-coat wear and it'll even make it around snow jackets
If you want to find top value Casios. Please review tne casio aw80 and sgw100.
Oh. I got one of these. And i gave it away as a gift to my father in law. Because he mention the face is huge and he can read it easily. Now I'm planning ok getting another one. And they have it in the extra long band. Super noice
You are definitely the best watch reviewer for me ...
Love ur craziness bro ❤️ 💙
Is it insulting your work if I tell you that the moment I wait for in your videos is when you give wife's critic on the watch ? I love you videos bro you are crazy
There is a similar model that was also released, it’s the same module but with a longer band and dual buckles!
I bought the extended band model for a more comfortable fit. It is also nice to have a watch I can read without my glasses on. Minor complaints come in the organization of modes. Stopwatch should be first instead of alarm and you should be able to check the stopwatch from the Home Screen. Also, a bit perturbed that I can’t turn off the button beeps when I go from mode to mode. Still - these are minor compared to excellent wearability, durability, water resistance and back lighting. Plus, you get all of the robust features of a g-shock with a larger screen and half the bulk.
Got one of those for $10.00 off a buddy of mine because he didn't like the size.
Love it
I considered getting one for use as a desk clock. It works perfectly at the 2-4 foot range.
Another Great Video - I have big 8.5 inch wrists and own quite a few Casio (and other) watches some £300+. All excellent but this one I wear most. Too me its damn near perfect and at under £25 it has to be the best value/legible watch on the planet. It's light, fits my large wrists perfectly and does everything I need and nothing I don't.
If you want legible, and equally affordable, but don't need dual time, consider the WS1000H: more stopwatch features and Big Buttons
Had the negative (8/2021) and the black gold one since 6/2022. Love them both ☺️
Well, I've bought one, after watching this vlog. I must be mad, as I've always hated Casio, but I need a watch while I'm doing jobs around the house, and getting dirty with my classic scooters.
It's lightweight and cheap, and I won't mind it getting roughed up a bit
YES!!!!!!!! Well done Stephen!!!
Nice and legible any more legible it would be in Braille too.
Brilliant!!!!
From all those big numbered Casios my favorits are W96h and W800. Not too big, great night visibility and nice, crisp numbers on positive display.
And price for those is sick.
So happy to hear your thoughts on this one MWC. I very nearly bought one of these when they came out but the size put me off.
But if you want that chunky action watch or Garmin type style but you don’t need any of the extra functions on a G Shock or smart watch then this gives you exactly that for a bargain price! Maybe I do need one after all 🤔😂
Great show as always MWC 👏👏👏👏
Cheers Gareth!!! You’re up early!!!!
I already purchased that one last 2 years and still giving me a good TIME ..
I have the dark gray one with the negative display screen and I love it. Do not buy if your wrist is not big enough (at least 6 inches).
Got mine in the negative display for £16 from creation watches, a cracking watch for the money, especially with a 10 year battery life 😊
The wife is hilarious. Buy it and wait for more colors to come out and buy them too. 🤣
Could eat my dinner off that screen, jeezus
Love the new watch! Where did you get the Casio F91W T Shirt? I've been trying to locate it since the first time we saw you wearing it. My son is a big Casio fan.
I have it in blue. Awesome watch. Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
Love your channel mate and your love of Casio. Just like me! Had my first Casio calculator in 79 along with my first Casio watch. loved them ever since!
There's two types of people... Marios, and Merryohs.
I love meeting Merryohs. Myself being a Mario.
Just when I thought I was out, you pull me back in....come on MWC 🤣I'll be ordering one of these tomorrow!
Sorry Stu!!!!
It's okay, I forgive you 😂@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR
i bought this 2 yrs ago, and still using it today
Finally made me comment and purchase off of a video after 1.5 years of watching, mainly because you're entertaining as heck.
Thank you always! (And I've always left a like) ✌️
Very good watch , i have negative version, used in snorkeling, swimming, etc still no problem, planning to buy positive display version
my girl got me one for xmas it goes in drill water an mud an clean it good everyday feels tuff but lens scratchs easy my first casio
just got one 2 days ago and its awesome, use the stop watch for work and it works great
Love the Starbug badge
i've had one of these for a few years and its a beast, love it!
This is a bit off topic but I haven't heard anyone talk about it. SKXMOD the makers of the AE1200 steel mod have come up with a solid steel case and bracelet for the A168. I'm sorry to be bringing this up on a video that isn't the topic but I was so excited when I discovered the new mod. Just so everyone knows I'm not an affiliate of SKXMODS. I just love their products. I bought the mod kit for the AE1200 and I was really happy to turn my Casio Royale into a watch that can live up to that 10 year battery life. Cheers to the MWC community!!
Amazing watch 😊 Instead of water resistant, I think the "WR" in Casio should mean Warmaggedon Resistant 😂
I’m happy for you my guy, you got him, so have I.
An absolute great beater
Was just watching Mercedes SL videos. Came here to embrace something that's more in my price range.
Great video MWC! I always wear a g-shock or other casio resin watch (dw290, royale, etc.) to bed. Often I'll be awake enough to want to check how much longer I can sleep, but too comfy to wake myself further by rolling over to check the clock. Sometimes my sleep-crusted and aging eyes need a moment to focus to read the display, but this might be just what the doctor ordered! I guess I just HAVE to get another casio lololololol. Some might want to beat this watch... me, I want to sleep with it ;)
Hahahahaha cheers Chaz!
That very well might be my next work watch. Not sure I would wear it to dinner though lol
I've had the exact one in the UK in that same colour combo. Cost under £30 delivered, real bargain for what you get.
I would have said both this and the newer madmen are trying to be more like the ProTrek, with their display aesthetic.
