R.I.P Wildchild, one of the legends!!
This is one my favorite songs of all time. The solo. The fucking SOLO .
the solo is something to behold
The duel between the guitar and the keyboard is just awesome
Too bad Alexi can never really play this song too well live. And well , i wouldn't blame him. He does vocals and plays leqd guitar at the same time. Fucking song is HARD to play. Especially the solo. Christ i fuck it up all the time.
@@JuniioMusic by the way. THANK YOU. you get it. Very black metal esque sound and a blend of different subgenres of metal. In this stage of their music people called them "Extreme melodic death power metal" haha i swear to god i didnt make that up
@@thecheif00 the longer the sub-genre name, the better the band
many people dont even know that the singer was also the lead guitarist..... talk about having musical talent....may he rest in piece
Hatebreeder album (came out before this). Alexi took a lot of inspiration from classical music on that album (I think Mozart in particular, although I could be wrong). It's probably my favourite album from them.
Vivaldi was the inspiration for Hatebreeder and Something Wild. Great stuff.
Also from Yngwie Malmsteen.
@@johnwhite8847 both of them and more actually...definetly Bach and some Beethoven aswell.
Red Light In My Eyes Pt.2 is absolutely Mozart (parts of Requiem I think), The Nail has lots of Toccata & Fugue in Dm by Bach, Hatebreeder (song) references the Magic Flute (Mozart) and Black Widow another piece also by Mozart that I can't remember right now. Oh and the intro to Warheart is a line from the Mozart movie
I can't think of any direct Vivaldi reference but without a doubt he was the main inspiration to how Alexi put together his solos and developed his own style...so it's hard to choose, he feels more like Vivaldi but he definetly paid the most tribute towards Mozart
FYI his main black metal influence was Dissection and there are a few CoB riffs that clearly were inspired by Dissection riffs (The Days Are Numbered, Lil Bloodred Ridin Hood, Halo of Blood)
This album is pure gold.
Children of bodom - In the shadows song has black metal vibe, and it's my favorite bodom song.
Well I sure am into Black Metal... looks like I'll have to add it to the list!
In The Shadows is awesome! Especially the end. Also checkout Warheart! I think it has a similar feel.
@@TheAspiringFitnessGuru I'll add it to the list!
Awesome. I'm glad you went with this. This isn't necessarily their most well-known song, nor their 'catchiest', but I figure I'd request the one where they completely obliterate everything instrumentally and where the lyrics aren't offensively bad (because a lot of their lyrics really are terrible). Their keyboardist is a big deal in the band, and he really bounces off with Alexi on a lot of the soloing. If I were to request another one, I'd go with "Silent Night, Bodom Night". Another early power metal styled song of theirs. But a song that maybe a lot more people know that's worth checking out is "Sixpounder". From their album where they started introducing more thrash and groove stuff into their sound, but on that album they handled it much better than a lot of the albums that followed it. Sixpounder was the song that kind of put them into international fame as it came with a music video and stuff like that.
Yeah I had a lot of fun with this song, thanks for the suggestion! I really liked the dynamic instrumentation a lot, that keyboard seems like such a signature sound of theirs.
Dude knows what he's talking about. I too love Hate Crew, the new elements never took from the band's sound, but rather enriched it. Hatebreeder, Follow the Reaper and Hate Crew are all 5/5 to me, great stuff. Relentless Reckless Forever is my favorite of all the albums after those masterpieces, even though it never reches the heights of those 3, it's a very well rounded and effective album imo. Anyway, react to some more of their stuff, you will not be disappointed. Cheers, guys.
I freaking love this song.
Never heard of them, sounds dope actually!
Oof this interpretation hits hard. Rip Alexi 🥺💔
Best song, solo and album they ever did. The lead guitar in this song... Jesus! Just an amazing record. Their mix of melodic death metal and neo classical was just great, sadly their lost their "touch" after the next record.
But I can't wait to see your reaction of Sons Of Winter And Stars by Wintersun
Thank you sir for another great reaction! One of my favorite bands and definitely not one that is often reacted to (definitely should be). Many like to label them as "melodic death metal", they've definitely one of the more accessible death metal bands IMO and I mean that in a good way!
Blooddrunk is actually one of their "later" albums, In Your Face is a song from their album Are You Dead Yet, that one came right before Blooddrunk. If I had to give a rough description about their discography, I'd say their later stuff is more riff- and hook-driven, and the earlier stuff focuses more on virtuosity and solos, make of that what you will. Hope the video gets a load of views, and keep up the good work. Peace!🤘
Hell yeah, I actually started learning this song a couple weeks ago, but I’ve been too busy to get back to it. Sign? I’d say yes.
You should check out Angels Don’t Kill, also by COB
Epic! Better pick up that guitar/drums/keyboard again haha. And thanks for the suggestion, I'll add it to the list.
@@JuniioMusic Oh yes, but I personally would prefer the live version. You feel the energy of the band, you see Alexi ripping through the solos, and I also like the mix of the live version more. But that's just me. If you prefer the studio version for it's clearer sound, etc. then go for that!
The Reaper symbolizes angel of death of the children that were murdered in the lake bodom murders in his hometown in Finland. They got their name from the lake bodom in Finland and the children. Children of Bodom! Crazy shit
BTW, New sub from Australia. You seem like a smart kid. I like the way you interpret the lyrics. I never got lyrics much as I was too focused on learning guitar and that was hard enough haha. Peace mate.
I love CoB. I learned this on guitar about 10 years ago. It was quite the challenge. My fave song from CoB.
Rest in peace Alexi Laiho ❤️
nice reaction video! very intellectual breakdown even if not musical in nature. you def chose one of their better songs too. props!
This was pretty good! Takes me back to highschool days, when I listened to a bit of CoB. Lol
Say, don't forget my Battle of Mice suggestion(s), Juniio. ;)
haha don't worry, they're still on the list. I'll make a note to do them soon though!
@@JuniioMusic Nice. Haha but you don't have to bump them up or anything, I'm just happy to hear they are on a list!
CHILDREN OF BODOM - ANGELS DONT KILL please!
Bodom is lake near Hellsinki, and there were 3 murders (2 girls 1 guy died, 1 survivor) and he never get caught ... so i think in those lyrics are some of that...
and if you really want to get into something but you're definitely going to need the lyrics for Mercyful Fate is the group anything off of don't break the oath album or Melissa album
2.32 it's great
And as far as black metal goes, listen to Watain. MALFEITOR by Watain. Tasty black metal goodness
ooooh Watain. One of my biggest regrets was not being able to see them live when they came around to my area. I'll add them to the list!
Unless you don't mind actual pig blood being dumped on you by the buckets, dont stand in the front row when you go see em haha. That being said, they're fantastic
@@thecheif00 sounds like the front row is a must
If you like bands with many influences mixed with many other genres, i suggest you should listen to Swallow The Sun - Lights on the Lake, ranging from soft parts, doom metal, black metal and melodeath, ... in one song. But it works, better than that, it's masterful. It has a downright haunting lyrical theme, appropriate for the music. They are one of Finland's most respected musicians. Great video btw
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. And thanks for the suggestion, I'll add it to the list.
@@JuniioMusic awesome, hope to see it soon, or whenever!
If you want Black Metal, mixed with some industrial, check out Chelsea Wolfe - Carrion Flowers
Honestly this is the only Children Of Bodom album I have. But I dont regret getting it, it's all killer and no filler.
Ur right bout the album, but you should by the other ones as well.
Is this metal in a major key? (I could be wrong.) The intro sounds almost happy. Way cool instrumentally. Btw, I *am* spreading your channel to all my various foreign intelligence contacts as well as my black market suppliers and Russian mob friends . We WILL be in touch, my friend, at a time of OUR choosing. RECS! "New Blood" by Spacemetal (oh HELL yes), "Dark Charade" by Rishloo which is just so beautiful and intense, and for fans of vintage stuff, "Since I've Been Loving You" Live (HD) by Led Zeppelin, which will have you in awe.
I think this song is in C major lol
if it's black metal that you're looking for I suggest check out Venom Countess Bathory or 1000 days in Sodom you won't be disappointed and by the way that's when they were three piece band
YES. It's about time I got to the roots of Black Metal. I was planning on doing a Bathory song soon but I'll keep the other bands in mind. Got any fav songs by them?
@@JuniioMusic the song I was talking about is called Countess Bathory by Venom lol I thought I spaced it but it's Countess Bathory by Venom
or if you want to really be freaked out look for the video 1000 days in Sodom by Venom and check that out
@@williamoconnell2504 oooooooooooooohhhh hahaha okay my bad. I'll add it to the list then!
Moonsorrow - Huuto
I'll add it to the list!
Alexi said the lyrics were shit for the first half of their albums. Nobody listens to Bodom for the lyrics.
Brah, if black metal is it for you. It would be a crime not to check out MGLA exercises in futility V, Or VI. You can thank me later. Big ups brah!!!
haha crazy coincidence homie I was actually listening to Exercises in Futility V as I read your comment. I'll add MGLA to the list though, and their Exercises in Futility VI!
Juniio yo!! Trippy dude I'm watching you through your screen, creepy. Yeah for me Behemoth and MGLA are the top two Black Metal bands but I'm always interested in hearing something new or something I'm not aware of. That's why I love these platforms.
How can you enjoy a song if you are constantly stopping it? What the fuck.
