    Thank you for this. I'm just a newly diagnosed kidney disease patient, trying to learn and understand what is happening to me. The first time I ever heard of GFR ...it was 27... Needless to say... I am on the proactive trail here.
    Thanks for your help! I'll be watching more!

    A great presentation guys. I recently find out that my eGFR is 57 and now I have a better understanding of what that means. Can a low eGFR be increased and how?? Thanks, Mike e

    • @ElectedOfficial1
      @ElectedOfficial1 Před 6 lety +1

      Mike e. A hundred percent GFR mean to get an A+ or you got all of them right. A 72 GFR means you got a B and a 60 GFR means you get a c and a 50 GFR and you get a d and below that you I got a D minus and then an F and you need dialysis. Or I should say we need dialysis if we get that low. Anyway 100 means 100% functioning and so on. Mine went up to 60 or 60% functioning filtration rate. Being a raw vegan and drinking plenty of water did it in three weeks! But I'm a type 1 diabetic not a type 2. My c-peptide is way off. GAD 2? neuron in my brain connected to my pancreas c-peptide lost its link somehow. Or something like that. It's in my blood work and is hereditary. C-peptide is the link between 1 and 2 in the pancreas guiding the insulin. But do not quote me yes do the research. I did and I forgot the terminology LOL sorry

    What else show dehydrated? I looked up BUN as at top edge of range, and found article on bun:creatinine ratio. Maybe I eat too much protein or not digesting well. If ratio seems high (21/.067)eGFR 82, is that worth telling Dr? What good steps to take towards better health. No one has mentioned it yet.

    apologies but if there is hypoperfusion to the kidneys in CHF, i can understand that BUN will go up - but wont creatinine also go up? As less of it is being filtered out by the kidneys, yet still being produced by the body?

    Hello sir,my creatinine level last oct.29,2018 is 1.7 mg/dL, 150.0 mmol/L, but my dr. says it still normal. Is she correct?or it really depends on the laboratory that does the creatinine test for me? I hope you can reply to me,because i'm so confused about it. Thank you in advance and GODBLESS YOU☺️

      your creatinine is quite high, however if you have lots of muscles and do lots of sports then your creatinine can be a bit high. Do you drink at least 2 litres of water every day. if not you run a risk of kidneys problems in the long term.

    You have explained well.But BUN and CREATININE are still bugging me.What happens when excess creatinine is discharged in urine?Is it healthy or the kidneys are in poor shape?You said BUN is reused while creatinine is wasted out.When you talk of kidney ,are you talking about the combined functionality of the pair of kidneys or any one?Sorry I am ignorant.

      But 2 times in a weeks eat salmon because of liver.

      Vishal Bardia I was a vegetarian from 1980 to 2014 and the toxins were horrible because all Dairy and even white meat is all GMO. Eating soy is like eating gasoline . Our food supply is so damaged that you must go organic . I've gone to a totally vegan diet and now I've gone Raw vegan. I put everything in my salads that I can think of. Go to raw vegan Kristina, and dr. Bergman is really good! He really explains everything about the kidneys. Marcus and Cara are great at making recipes and they look fabulous for being in their 50s! Of course I'm 66 and a half years old and I just put all of my stats at the top. Trying to figure out why I'm having my problems.

    • @ElectedOfficial1
      @ElectedOfficial1 Před 6 lety +3

      Vishal Bardia no carbs, no meat, no Dairy. Drink as much cranberry juice as possible organic and water, spring water, no fluoride no chlorine cuz those are poison. Being a raw vegan took my GFR rate from 47% function in my kidneys to 60% in my kidneys within 3 weeks. I have two blood tests 2 prove it. And other levels went down to match. I wish I had time to look them up again. But this is the jest of the situation. Good luck and remember to walk if you possibly can. That keeps the blood moving and filtering.
