Awesome - I was half expecting the little cracked part to drop off, as they usually become brittle around the edges. But you did a splendid job of straightening it - fantastic find!
Brilliant find Liam, congratulations Mum ❤
Nice job, we've a few we need to straighten so might have a go, cheers 👍
Warm it very slowly to excite the molecules and make them stretch
I usually put bent coin inbetween 2 books and press together hard. As Marcus said, warm water won't have any affect. Look up a process called annealing 🍻
Done a lot of that process with fabricating steel conduit and tray. I thought was a bit extreame applying so much heat , quite a thick coin and more of a bend than a crease. I read a book once it was blue 😂 hope your well bud
I was watching from behind the cushion.
Treat yourself to a pair of nylon jewellery pliers Liam, perfect for straightening silver. The hot water will hardly do anything as the water will cool down too quickly. Silver is very soft but if you’re gonna heat it you’ll need to anneal it with a blow torch. Lovely coin mate, well saved. Hope all is well
Cheers bud yeah quite a thick coin and not really a crease but a slight bend in it so just had a go with the boiling water and the missies truncheon technique. Will be getting a blow torch though for future bent hammereds 🙏
I would of been quietly crapping myself too doing that, knowing it already had a small crack in it. Well done on a great job Liam 👍💪
Cheers buddy 👍🏻
lovely coin liam well saved
I do the same Liam. Rolling pin lol
though would off have plenty off old ones with all the time you been detecting mate well done
Nice one mate you take care.
Great job mate, bet you were pleased.👍
Congratulations. Nice coin 😀
That's awesome mate
Really amazing find, congratulations.
Thankyou 🙏
@@HistoryRevisiteduk your welcome. I'm in California, so I don't find anything super old. My oldest coin is an 1864 Indian Head Penny 😆. Hope you find a giant hoard one of these days.
Nice job straightening Liam. Great find. Which detector were you using.

What's a coin like that worth? Hello from Vermont USA, where we have nothing that old.
All depends on rarity, condition any miss strikes anomalies etc . Some can be £50 some can get into the 10’s of thousands
