- Today we are looking at all the parts needed to install a carburetor on your LS engine and convert it to a carbureted LS engine. Down below I have a list of all the parts that you will need in order to successfully complete your ls carb conversion. The main player will be the ignition system which will be controlled by the Smart Spark LS ignition system by Daytona Sensors. Overall the process is pretty straight forward and most parts are plug and play. You might have to do a little bit of holley carburetor tuning but aside from that, if everything is bolted on correctly, you should be finished in only a few hours. For those trying to convert an EFI car to carburetor, you'll be spending more money but the process is not too bad either. Carburetors are a great way to simplify your LS swap and they always look great on top of a classic car engine.

Edelbrock 600 Carburetor- Its a solid carb for stock and mild engines. Picked it up on craigslist for cheap. Even brand new, they inexpensive.

Holley HLY-300-130 Dual Plane Intake Manifold- Went with the dual plane for more TQ at low RPMS, the Edelbrock one looks almost the same, but I wanted mine to say Holley lol.

Easily carb LS swap any car! I'm back again! Another quick video, but this time about how to put a carburetor on your LS engine. Here is a list of part, along with a brief explanation of why I used them. Running the smart spark and holley 650 for 2 years now. Zero problems. Unfortunately people still act like dumbasses and don't install it correctly and cry they have problems because they don't know what they are doing. MSD LS ignition boxes are garbage.

I ran 21psi on my 4.8 on this system and never had a problem. The main thing is getting you carburetor built correctly so that it can handle boost.

In the past you install a fuel adjustment to run e85 fuel… when running E85. What type of mileage you get vs normal gasoline
VS gasoline your MPG drops by almost half. Went from 12-15 down to 5-8mpg

Hey man. When hooking these up too power does it sound right to take my ignition wire run it too a fuse relay and then have the smart spark plug into that as well?
Dumb question I know 😂 but trying to figure it out
The smart spark should be hooked up to a fused ignition source so that it turns off when the Key is off and its also protected for shorting out. The relay is optional but not nessesary since it doesnt need more than 10amps to run properly. Ideally you'd want the ignition box on its own circuit but its not mandatory.

Can you add a pro charger to it without anything problems?
The ignition system will handle it no problem. You would just need to be able tune your carb for the positive pressure of the supercharger

the original pcm. It can be flashed to eliminate fuel control and work with a carburetor
So no msd 6014. Use the Daytona over the msd one?
Ive never had a problem with the Daytona box in 3 years and tens of thousands of miles. It replaced my old MSD one that lasted a year.
@@NightWrencher okay I am currently putting a cam in my 5.3 and then will be buying the msd/ or this Daytona. I see your link above says 370$ is that just the computer or all wiring and all too?

First thing mentioned is a 700 dollar ignition system when the stock (free) harness works fine. I'll stick to FI lol
You could always spend MORE money lol this was just the cheapest and easiest way to do it.
