    Michael Bublé's rich, warm texture puts smiles on faces and encourages festive, steaming drinks. He's able to excite and sooth the ears of listeners at the same time and no matter what he's singing, he feels like he's right there in the room with you.
    This calming and present vibe is present in many of the crooners, but Michael really dials this up a notch. There's lots going on with his voice and approach! Let's dive into resonance and placement more deeply than we've done with any singer before in this series.. We'll discover many ways to bring our voice out of hiding and right where it needs to be for a full, confident and inviting sound!

    This is actually probably the best lesson you can get and it's fucking free man. Michael just talks with his singing, it's just amazing how effortlessly he sings and Chris is doing an amazing job dissecting and pretty much chewing it up for us to be as easiest as it can be to understand. And thank you Chris for uploading this gem and I don't think a lot of people have even thought about Michael at all when it comes to singing. (Speaking from myself, since I don't really listen to Michael at all, but I gotta say the techniques just universally applicable). ! Cheers Chris !

    I actually taught myself how to sing by trying to imitate him. Eventually my imitation stopped but the techniques stayed. I'm not a professional singer and I only sing for fun but my vocal strength increased and I landed a few community theatre rolls. Practicing all the time I still listen to bublé and sing along. Thanks for the video

  • @barrybach
    @barrybach Před 3 lety +5

    Great video! I've always admired Bublé for his skill with dynamics (especially with how he introduces it into his pop music, and not just his classic "big band" style; something I feel is often missing from pop music today, where everything is overly belt-y). An interesting aspect of Michael's technique is also the overall wide-ness of his vowels (learning towards "ehh"/"eee" a lot; for example, shown ever so slightly at the 4:57 mark); definitely adds to his unique style, but also (perhaps intentionally) adds more excitement to his phrasing since most people don't do that. Not to mention his range is RIDICULOUS for a baritone! (His low notes are something I'll never have, unfortunately, haha!)

    Michael Buble has always been one of my favorite singers. I've always been a fan of his type of music and I liked that he was more dynamic than most crooner style singers.
    He's a great singer to study because while he's not a ridiculously technical singer but he uses resonance and transferring between registers.
    It sounds good and its approachable for most people to practice. This is a good one Chris. Maybe you should do a cover :)

    Hello Chris! I stumbled across your content about 2 weeks ago after watching one of the videos you did with Glenn, and I was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY when I heard your singing demonstration! I knew I had to learn more from you and I’ve been hooked ever since! haha. Anyway, I’ve been trying to find my mixed singing voice, and after a few of your videos, I’ve noticed my range has increased quite a bit and it doesn’t hurt my throat! However, every time I try to experiment and find my mix, I end up getting exactly what you describe at 13:06 . So I assume what might be happening is I’m lowering my larynx when I try to hit higher notes, but I’m doing it without meaning to do so 😅

    It took me seven minutes and 10 seconds to subscribe to you. It was when you said you love feeling good. But it wasn’t because of that it was the synthesis of knowing your understanding of musicality and vocal description. My sister is a middle school music teacher, she’s a year older than me and we both grew up with music, chorus, and band. I always was inclined to sing and do so frequently and discarding all other resistance to this ultimately. But I did grow up with parents being like stop singing so much blah blah blah, etc. very much looking forward to your class that you mentioned in the beginning as a first time viewer.
