This reminds me how badly I'd love to see Mojang give wolves some much needed upgrades. Like, even just the option to deck them out in armor so they can take more hits from hostile mobs would be nice.

@@CJMoody Yeah, it should be able to be upgraded just like player armour, & the wolves themselves deserve some upgrades too, they havn't changed much since their introduction. I'd love a game mechanic where we can train them to make them stronger. Maybee they could have their own XP, & the more that they train & fight, the stronger & faster they become. mabee the model itself could change, growing & becoming more beastlike as their strength improves. maybee they start as the vannila wolf, & grow into something more like the dire wolf from the empires SMP as they get stronger. It would certainly give us players more incentive to take them with us on adventures, to level them up, so-to speak.
