I have a 2014 crosstrek and the luno life mattress. I love the set up. I slept on one half of this mattress for over 30 days straight while traveling the country. Very comfortable considering its an air mattress.
Very cool! That is great to hear.
Jules Weiss Exactly. Investing in a durable air mattress like this one that is custom made to fit the vehicle seems like the best options for extended periods of travel.
It seems great for one person. Have you used it with two people? I'm a bit unsure where I'd put all of our gear, even with a roof rack. Big cooler full of food can't stay outside and seats would be too far up.
renevas2 i’ve only used it solo and I’m very minimalistic with my camping so never found storage space to be an issue. If you need to carry alot of stuff that you don’t want to keep outside once you’ve set up camp than car camping isn’t for you, tent sounds more suitable
@@julesweiss6950 Yeah I have done a lot of tent camping and backpacking but am interested in the more comfy/climate-controlled option for car camping with the wife, especially during covid. Might be able to make it work with the roof box. Thanks for the reply
Oh wow, that definitely looks like a better option than lugging a sheet of plywood around.
Yes indeed! And a little easier to carry :)
Yup... "Pop!"
I'm definitely looking into one of these. I'm a backpacker and tent sleeper but I also use my vehicle as a basecamp and a nice comfortable basecamp option at the end of a long backpacking trip to recoup would be very nice. Pair this with an awning and you have a mobile fortress. Great video!
Thank you very much and best of luck. It is a great product and the Luno 2.0 is out now. The coupon code will still give you 10 percent off if you decide to pick one up.
Very good review of these mattress's. Definitely going to be a must grab for when I switch over to the Crosstrek from the WRX. I don't mind sleeping in a tent, but the quietness, safety, and solitude that comes from sleeping in your Crosstrek is a much better option to have!
Thanks Rick!
Awesome! I am very impressed with the design and quality. Very well thought out and executed.
Thanks for your review, Rick. I wasn't super into the air mattress idea (over a mat etc.) but your video sold me and we are happy with it. We put the flat side on top so there is no "crack." We also purchased some inexpensive window "socks" to screen in the back windows. Thanks :)
That's great to hear Samatha, so sorry about the coupon code mishap on my part. I bet luno life would credit you if you sent them an email. Happy camping out there!
Nice! A much cheaper alternative to a rooftop tent!!!
Happy to see another video by you on a topic I’m interested in. Very helpful, thanks!
Awesome. Glad it was helpful
The option to inflate just the one side is really good.
Definitely! Sweet idea on their part for sure.
Nice review, Rick. It looks like a pretty good solution. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
You are very welcome and thank you for taking the time to watch along. It seems to be a very nice set up for sure.
Hey Rick,
Thanks. I just purchased my Crosstrek last week and bought a tent today. I am looking forward to my getaways.
Awesome. Congratulations!
Been looking for ways to get the most out of my new Crosstrek Sport, this is awesome. Great video thank you! Might need to throw a rack on the roof to secure any gear/luggage once bed is inflated, then re-pack in the morning. Again, thank you!
Glad I could help! Don't forget the coupon code in the description! It is good on pretty much everything except bundles. Have fun!
This is sweet! I'm so glad I got a Crosstrek!!!!!!
Great review/demo and wow! He must be a fitness guru! I wasn’t mad at that physique toward the end!! 💕🙄💕🙏🏼🙏🏼💕💕
Great Video Rick!! Definitely grabbing that for my 18 XTrek. Great just to have in a pinch too.
Thank you John! Much appreciated. It is a nice little set up and very nice quality.
Take weekend trip and pretty a video on how it holds, thanks for posting
Coming soon! 😃👍🏻
So now i only need the Xv. Soon 😍
Cheers mate 😇
Great demo! We weren’t in the market for such a mattress, but now maybe we are!
Thank you. It is a great little set up and works really well. They have a 2.0 version now that has a few upgrades.
Nice that Lunolife makes this for a variety of vehicles. Wish I would have known about this years ago. It would have been a great option for my VW Alltrack.
They are a nice little set up for sure!
Thanks for suggesting this! I had been thinking about buying a small RV, but they are hard to get now. I may try car (wagon) camping this summer, and the Luno sounds like a great way to try it out.
Awesome! Best of luck with it.
Thanks for sharing this! I'm not really a camper but this opens up some possibilities. Not a fan of tents either.
My pleasure. It really is a great option and really easy set up.
Dude, you're awesome 😎 thanks for these videos! Can't wait for my 2021 Crosstrek adventures
Thanks so much. Have fun with your Crosstrek and thank you for watching.
Rick this looks like a great product for camping and even long distance road trips! Great solution! I would also want to make some black out curtains since I love the dark and hate the light. Also I like white noise so would need a portable fan. I would also have those overnight bathroom trips. Maybe I need a motel room!
LOL Dave! Funny stuff. :) It is a great little set up and I agree on the white noise. I always sleep with a fan on at home and work. I even have an app with ambient noise for when no fan is available.
@@AZdroptop Rick I also have in my bedroom 2 20 inch box fans by Lasko made 6 miles away in West Chester, PA. I can't sleep w/o them. Last year on my road trip to AL I even brought a fan with me for the white noise. If anyone saw me they probably thought I was nuts!
ha ha. Good man.
Thank god you double tapped the spacers or they would have flew out the door!! Great video ty!
Biggest pros for this mattress seem to be the ability to inflate only one side, it's compact when not in use, and it's custom fit for the vehicle. I do think it would be cool if Luno Life let you purchase just a set for one side. That would be a better option for solo campers and reduce extra cost. Overall its a nice option if you don't mind spending some money for the features offered.
Well said Kyle. I will let them know your suggestion about the one side only set up. Thank you for watching and for your comment.
Hi Rick.
Another of your great videos! Informative as always! Thanks for the research to find another comfortable way to sleep in your Crosstrek. With other equipment you may need to take with you on an overnight expedition, the blowup mattress is a great space-saving idea and may be more comfortable than a thin foam mattress.
Its design looks to be a great fit allowing you to make adjustments for extra comfort if required; and if extra space is needed, the opportunity to only use one side is another plus for this mattress.
Thanks, Rick, for working yet another way to get out and enjoy the outdoors with your mighty Crosstrek!
Cheers my friend,
CFDU,
Martin
Hi Martin, thank you kind sir! It is a really nice set up, design and execution for sure...all very well though out. It might even work as a comfortable way to sleep in a tent. :) Cheers my friend, hope you are enjoying your weekend.
I like this option. The blocks are a great idea for head support.
Luno life did a really nice job design wise for sure!
Nice review Rick, looks like a nice mattress. I will be buying one
Thank you! It’s a sweet set up! Make sure to save the 15% if you get one! HUTTON15.
Do you feel the difference in floor level from the cargo area to on to the seat back?
Not on the short time I was laying on there and filming, but I will have a better idea once I sleep on it over night...Hoping to get out tomorrow night so I will do an update video.
".... the NIGHTSTAND...." Haha I love edits like that.
:) I accidentally called it something else when I filmed the video.... and of course everything was torn down already so...ha ha
Nice comprehensive review👍🏼
Thanks so much!
Being short, I've been sleeping diagonally, used a thermarest as a mattress.
Nice!
Just buy a cheapie wal mart twin air matress or just some cheap foam, no need to spend a ton of money.
Just bought one. Can't wait for it to arrive.
Nice Chris. I think you will really like it.
@@AZdroptop I'm currently lying in the back of my car on a therm a rest pad wishing id stumbled upon your video sooner. My current set up isn't bad but yours looks infinitely better.
Awesome Chris. Let me know what you think once you try it out. I did a follow up video as well after sleeping on it for the first time. It really is a great set up and I am normally not a fan of air mattresses, but they did a really nice job on this set up from design to execution. Here is the follow up if you are interested. Cheers czcams.com/video/m-lUNT9XvPg/video.html
That's very cool! I'm going to check out the website
Awesome! Use HUTTON15 for 15% off if you decide to buy one. Thank you for watching.
After many times of using air mattress, I finally had enough with leaking, being too soft, pump problems, and trashed it. Hard folding bed is the most reliable solution, and I recommend it to all.
Now you are talking! Great solution for your camping comfort. The wife might even join you now ;)
Thank you Deb! You hit the nail on the head there my friend. :) How did you know camping is not normally her cup of tea. She was even excited about the sleeping platform...she is not a fan of tents....Have a great weekend Deb!
Rick, Happy Wife, Happy Life 😉
Amen sister. :)
Great show Rick!
Thank you Patrick!
Very nice review and video. Mine is on its way. Discount was a bonus!
Nick thank you! Very cool. enjoy. Hoping to try mine out in the 'wild' in a couple days.
I slept a few times at the back of subaru sti hatchback. With the seats folded down you can fit diagonally really well.
you mean Subaru Levorg
2012 subaru sti hatchback😀/ USDM /
Purchased a couple of "Igloo BMX" coolers..that seem to fit almost perfectly between the front and rear seats of the Crosstrek...as a more functional alternative to the support cubes (although not as soft). I'll try it out this weekend.
That is a great idea! Let me know how it works out.
@@AZdroptop Hi, Rick! Seems like it should work out well. However, our campsite starting raining hard, so I didn't have time to inflate the Luno Life mattress! :P Us doggies just climbed in the back and slept on a camping pad and some blankets. However, while the Igloo BMX coolers did fit properly, they lean at an awkward angle, since they are resting on the floor tracks that the two front seats ride on. So, I need to figure out maybe a three inch thick wooden "T-shape" gizmo...to stabilize the coolers. Also, there is a gap between the coolers...so i tossed some gear there.
One serious issue...that would be remedied by the Luno Life mattress...is the gap between the folded down rear seats...and the rear doors. While I was asleep, one of my dogs slid backward into that open gap. He was alright, but I fear he could have been squeezed and suffocated in that space. Especially if he had slid face-first. :( I must get a solution to that.
Bummer about the rain, but hopefully you still had a good time getting out. Sorry about your dog getting stuck in there and glad he was ok!
Thank you for the idea Rick. BTW, Cycle on!
Thank you! Cheers.
225 dollars!!! Out of your damn mind. I bought a 4 inch memory foam mattress for 70 bucks. So comfy.
Not the first time I have been told that LOL. :) foam mattress will work.
Was it the WELLAX one from Amazon? I use that in the back of my outback and it works great.
If not, which are you using?
@Bobby Brady you can fold one up, then use a vacuum storage bag with a small hand pump and it'll take up about the same space as a deflated air mattress
iLoganC a little more work definitely worth the savings.
I bought one for $20 at Fred Meyer
Nice, thank you. Don’t think most people would need the air blocks though. Fill that area with a small cooler and backpacks or soft bags etc
Thank you. I used the blocks in my Crosstrek, it not when I use the mattress in the Jeep. Thank you for watching .
That makes so much sense. I had no idea that company existed!
Kurt, I didn't either until Channing posted a couple of weeks ago. Good stuff! Being pretty tall, do you think you would fit in your Forester? I am really ready for camping now. ;)
@@AZdroptop The mattress for the Forester is 6' 6" long, so in theory, I would fit!
Nice! I know you are more of a hammock guy, but maybe for a back up?
Awesome video. I have a 2019 Crosstrek Limited and just ordered the sleep system; thanks for getting us the discount code, Rick. Look forward to watching more future content!
Hi Mark, thank you very much. Very cool that you ordered up the system and happy to help out. The folks over at Luno Life seem super cool.
Thanks for the review
Thank you for watching. It is a great little set up!
Hi Rick, I enjoy your video's. I was wondering if you were considering a roof top tent. You do alot of outdoor stuff and seems a roof top tent would be perfect.
Hi Tony, thank you very much! I have looked at them a few times and might consider one after I retire from the Fire department in two years when I hope to get out camping more regularly. They are not cheap, but look like a great option for sure!
I wish they put a screw on cap over the deflate/inflate valves. I move a lot in my sleep and I always subconsciously end up catching my hand on the deflate plug and pulling it out
This is just perfect 👌🏻
that's awesome rick.
Hi Ed, thank you my friend. It is a really nice set up they have come up with!
Really Cool!! Now I just need that they make a mattress for my 2010 Skoda Superb..
Thank you Kenneth. They are great mattresses and super comfortable.
Hello! First, thank you from France! Second, have you got the same for Outback 2008 (outback called 3)? I love this bed! Thanks a lot for the video!😊
Hello Jessie! Thank you for watching from France. It looks like Luno life does make the mattress for your Outback. I do not know however if they ship to Europe? Here is a link to the 2008 Outback. lunolife.com/products/signature-air-mattress?
They have great customer service and will respond quickly if you email them. Best of luck.
nice review Rick.
Thank you! It is a nice little set up.
I subscribed I can’t wait to start camping more
Thank you! Awesome, the Crosstrek is a great car camping companion...have fun.
Thoughts? Any type of screen for the windows so airflow without bugs getting in?
Hatch canopy?
Wheres the portapottie?
Hi Dan, the window screen is a good idea, but I have not looked into them as of yet. Portapottie is the bushes unless I'm at a camp site. :)
why would anyone thumbs down this video? ... oh yeah.. humans. got it. Great video buddy. Gonna def grab one of these. The wife wasn't fond of the bears passing by last camping season. Cheers, thanks.
Mike, thank you! Much appreciated. I believe the Lunolife2 is coming out very soon and the discount code should still work. I am just not sure when they will be in. The mattress is great and my wife and your wife sound similar! :)
Rick Hutton Rick! Yeah I noticed that it wasn’t yet available after checking the link. I’ll def use the promo code for sure though when/if it becomes available. And will surely grab one. Last year we had an 1100 or so pound mom and her cub walk by at dinner (in the poconos) and that kind freaked my wife out. I can’t say it didn’t freak me out a little bit as well lol so yes sleeping in the car will make convincing ny wife to go camping EVERY weekend easier rofl.
Wow! That could have been a youtube sensation if you had your camera rolling. :) I bet it was scary and amazing all at once. Have you seen the video of the guy sitting by the river in Alaska? A giant grizzly walks up, sits down and kind of hangs out for awhile. It was pretty amazing. Once you get the mattress and try it out let me know what you think of it. Have fun!
Rick Hutton You aint kidding lol. I do wish we had the cameras rolling. Side note, what’s interesting is that we were on state park camp grounds, which have all the elements for bear to roll on through. At the privately owned more “party camp grounds” people play music all night, are loud etc. and I think bear are afraid or at least deterred. On the state grounds they have a sort if curfew and rules about sounds after a certain time. I think what’s happened it that the bear are now conditioned to know that all they have to do is walk through, people drop all of their food, get in their cars, then the bear just grab up all of the food and do it again the next day 🤣 yeah definitely excited about the bed though cant wait, hopefully this current madness doesn’t slow up the release, although it likely will I’d bet. Anyhow cheers! Keep up the great vids we love them!
That is a great story! :) I hope the bed isn't delayed as well. Best of luck with everything and give me a shout when you finally get it. Cheers!
Thanks for the video.
Thank you for watching!
Despite the price, I am sold. Will have to put aside an extra bit of money for when I pick up my 2021 sport!
Awesome. And congrats on the new Sport! I think you will enjoy the mattress. Just found out prices are going up in January. This code will work for 10% off. NEWYEAR10 My code does not work anymore. Cheers
@@AZdroptop t-minus 17 days before I pull the trigger on ordering my crosstrek and I still 100% plan on ordering one of these once the car is in my hands. I am also planning on getting some aftermarket tint on the windows to help make sleeping in the car less vulnerable:)
Muy práctico y cómodo 👍, good job Rick
Gracias Jose! Cheers
Saludos Bobby
@Bobby Brady Hello Bobby👍
Need one for my lexus rx!
Rick, thanks for introducing me to this! I just got a Crosstrek and will definitely be using it to go car camping. Question: Can you leave the hatch/lift gate open on the Crosstrek for extended periods of time without any battery drain? I've seen a lot of complaints from Ascent owners about dead batteries after sleeping in their Ascent with the hatch open. I was going to buy one of those awning tents that attach to the back, but this could be a huge design flaw that makes me re-think how I'll have to camp in this.
Hi Nick, I have not slept with it open personally, but the light in the back can be turned off so I can't see why it would drain the battery over night? My buddy Trent has the Ascent and was just talking about how the battery dies . :) He just pulls the fuse now. When my son get's home later with the car I will check it out closer and let you know what I find. LunoLife just came out with the 2.0 for the same price and my discount is now 10% instead of 15 just fyi. HUTTON10
@@AZdroptop Thanks, looking forward to seeing what you find with the car! And awesome, I'm hoping to buy it in the next week or so, was checking out the 2.0 last night.
@@AZdroptop and from what I've seen from the forums is that opening any door (including the hatch) "wakes up" the computer in the car and slowly drains the battery while open (it uses about 4 amps when left open). I just bought a new base model that doesn't have the automatic power gate, so it may not even apply to me anyway, but definitely curious!
Interesting. My son was home and then off again so I will check it out as soon as possible. I know the light will go off on it's own after awhile, but I don't know if it still drains the battery? Will sill see if I can find out somehow.
Hey Nick, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. My son and I have been missing each other so I couldn't get to the car. I went out and opened the hatch to see what would light up on the info screen up front. It shows the rear hatch is open but turned off in about 5 minutes...I didn't set a timer and got distracted. :) Anyway, I didn't see any other indication that the car was draining the battery so I think you should be good to go if you turn off the hatch light.
Looks very good. Does it fit in a 2017 Subaru Impreza?
Hi Antonio, I just checked their vehicle line up and it looks like it is out of stock. Here is the link if you want to contact them to see when it will be available. Currently they are offering $50 off for Black Friday until Monday which is better than my HUTTON15 code.lunolife.com/products/signature-air-mattress
1. Does the uneven floor still effect the level of the bed or does the air mattress work that out?
2. Where or how would you store the other camping items like the kitchen stuff, cooler?
Thank you.
Hi Dawn, The mattress does a pretty good job of masking the uneven floor, but it is still noticeable. I have been using it without anything under it though so it isn't bad.
Storing your stuff can be an issue. I either put it on top of the car in a bin, or underneath. I have heard others bringing along a small tent to keep some of their gear as well.
@@AZdroptop thanks. Good tips there. I appreciate the reply.
Happy to help and best of luck
Hey Rick,
I’m new to the Subie family, just got a Trek myself. Live in Tucson too. Like your videos, keep ‘em coming. Gives me some good ideas for mods on mine. Hope our paths cross one of these days. Any local suggestions for installing a lift? I’m looking at the ADF 1.5.
Hi,, and congratulations on your new Crosstrek. We are seriously blessed to have so many awesome places to explore around here. Send me an email sometime and I'll give you a heads up when Trent and I are getting together for a drive. As for lift install I'm not honestly sure. I know Desert Rat does a ton of suspension and lift installs, but I have not used them personally. I'l'll check and see if I can come up with a place for you. The ADF lift looks like a good one. I am still planning on doing the LPAventure 1.5 here soon...Thanks for checking in and have fun!
Thank you. I’m pretty stoked, moving slowly with the mods, but for sure when I’m done you’ll know it’s no one else’s :) Absolutely will drop you an email. Talk to you soon.
Awesome.
Hey Rick, how did you go about closing your lift gate from the inside when getting in? (Assuming you got in that way when using this). I just picked up the 2.0 series mattress system for my 18 and am curious about that. Hope you're enjoying the new Jeep.
Hi Chris, thank you! I went in the side door actually. It is a bummer that there isn't a release on the door to make life easy. :) Hope you enjoy the 2.0! I haven't had the chance to try one out yet.
@@AZdroptop Thanks Rick... appreciate the input. If I can figure out a way to close the rear lift gate from the inside, I will just use the trunk release on the keyfob to get out.
REI Co-op Passage 2 Tent with Footprint $112, REI Co-op Flash 3-Season Sleeping Pad $109. For the same price I can leave my cooler, camping gear and bike in the car and sleep comfortably in the tent. I have never found sleeping in a vehicle to be comfortable, except for my RV.
Thanks for sharing!
Wish com
sells a generic version , dont know if it will fit but does have those support air chambers ...i like this one lots more
Thanks Lee, I haven't seen the other one, but this set up is well done.
It’s very frustrating that the floor is not level when the seats are folded down. The cargo space is lower than the back of the seats by maybe an inch. We’ve filled that space with layers of foam to level it out but still be able to raise the seats by why doesn’t Subaru just make it flat so we don’t have to do that??
Agreed, it is a bit off kilter, but not horrible. I don’t notice it too much with the Luno
@@AZdroptop shouldn’t have to pay $250 to make the back flat or level with the seats down. Other cars just come that way. 🤷🏼♂️ Ultimately we love the car, but coming from a car manufacturer that caters to people that love the outdoors, it’s a pretty huge oversight. Even if they can’t make it flat because of the all wheel drive or something else, we feel they should at least offer a rubber insert for the cargo area to fill it in and bring it up to the height of the back of the rear seats. They could make a little extra money and I wouldn’t be looking at $250 air mattresses on CZcams that I’m never going to buy getting mad at Subaru for not offering their own solution. 🤷🏼♂️
I hear you. I'm not sure if you came across the other video I where I made a sleeping platform out of plywood? I incorporated a fix for the level problem, but it was pretty unwieldily to put in and out of the car. :) You should see how un-level my Jeep is with the seats down...almost a recliner. ha ha.
Nice! Have you used it camping yet? Do you have to crack a window overnight? Also, thanks for the coupon code. Does it expire?
Thank you for watching! The coupon code is good so no worries there. I did use it one night while camping and it was great. You can find my review here. czcams.com/video/m-lUNT9XvPg/video.html
I didn't crack the window when I went...it was kind of chilly, but my windows fogged up quite a bit. :)
A roof box would pair nicely with this.
Hi Annie, unfortunately with my roof mounted bike racks I can't fit a box up there with out taking them off, but I have looked a bunch at the Thule large box. :) Would be awesome for sure.
To me its shocking how many vehicles, especially ones that a lot of people use for this kind of purpose dont have simple level design so people can sleep there. Crosstreks, 4runners, no excuse for not giving it a thought. Better yet, nationwide accepted "camper" shells for trucks dont have a proper handle so you can close and open the hatch from inside...Oh, I guess I can pull on springs to open it in emergency lol
I hear ya, but I can see where car functionality on a day to day basis would be the focus. The camper shell on the other hand is not a good thing to be missing in an emergency.
To deflate really well, just put the hose on the other side of the pump and it sucks the air out and flattens the mattress like a pancake.
Thank you Anna, great tip.
Wow truly nice. I do not fear being homeless anymore.
Hey Rick, if you needed to drive or leave immediately the seats have to be pushed back / deflate the mattress huh? You can’t drive and still have the mattress set up?
That is correct Christian, unless you are just using the mattress as a single and have it on the passenger side...you could possibly get away with it that way, but the seat would be a bit goofy for seeing out the passenger side I think.
I am loving this!!! But...not available for my 2019 😪😔 I was totally ordering it 😭
Hi Michelle, not available as in out of stock? It should be the same one that fits my 18? The coupon code should still be good to use if you do end up buying it. It is a great set up. Looks like it is out of stock. It might be because they have the 2.0 model coming soon so keep your eyes open for that.
2 yoga pads for $10 each from Ross should do it. Two plastic boxes from Home Depot for front support. Can be used for storage as well. Luna mattress is $320.
It has gone up the past year, but it is a quality piece that works great. It really all depends on your comfort level and what you need to achieve it. 1 yoga mats would definitely not do it for me. :)
I'm curious what most people do with their items when sleeping? For example if you are camping and it's raining what do you do with your cooler or camping grill etc?
I generally bring a small tent along in case I need it for just this situation. If not raining I put it up on top of the car.
Great video! I got something similar but I’ve found it gets a little small and all cumbersome when I’ve done it for grouse hunting. In the morning I’d have to deflate and stow the mattress to make room for hunting gear and my buddy. But it’s still nice to have the option. I think I’m going to build a small trailer that a roof top tent will mount to, that way I can tow it to where I’m going, take it off and leave it.
Hey brother. Nice to see you on here. How are things? It can be a bit of a pain to have to take the bed down every morning so your roof tent and trailer sounds like a good plan. Have a good weekend.
Things are great! Been super busy and have been slacking on videos. I’ll have some up soon though
Good to hear! Looking forward to some videos.
Been looking here for vehicle with a flat (no step) platform behind the rear seats. That you did not address the step in the plane behind the front seats puzzled me. Wouldn't you feel that step through the mattress?
Sorry Richard, I'm not a professional reviewer...just sharing my experiences with the Crosstrek. :) I didn't go into detail on issues like that until I had a chance to get out and actually camping with the mattress. Here is the follow up video that you can check out if you are interested. czcams.com/video/m-lUNT9XvPg/video.html In a nutshell you can feel it a little bit, but the mattress does a pretty good job hiding it. In my follow up video I make a plywood piece for the rear section to help "hide" it even more. I also have another video where I make a full sleeping platform out of plywood. czcams.com/video/g3n0JQxQgWM/video.html Hope that helps. and thank you for watching.
Yeah...a Liger would definitely be better! It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.
-- Napoleon Dynamite
Bill, great minds think alike. I was sooooo close to putting Napoleon's Liger picture in the video. I mean, I even had the photo ready. :) Wasn't sure about copyright stuff so I left it out. Cheers
So other than the fact they are fit to the vehicles, thinner and the blocks is there anything else separate them from a regular air mattress? Thicker plastic?
The thing I think I like most is they don't feel "like plastic" The covering takes away some of the normal air mattress feel. They are also easy to adjust with the comfort valve, a nice feature when you are already in bed trying to sleep. You probably saw in the video there are two separate sections of the mattress so you can choose to inflate just one side or adjust each side to a different amount of air. And they are easy to deflate and store away. I have personally not had good luck with your basic air mattress over the years so this is a bit of a revelation for me. :) Hope that helps and thanks for watching along.
How long is this mattress? Probably ok to mention that several times in the video, especially once it's all set up. Thanks for your video.
Hi Bonnie, I don't remember the exact length of it....Luno says they fit a person up to 6'2"s tall. Personally I would say anyone over 6" would have to sleep just a bit sideways to fit on it comfortably in a Crosstrek. Not sure if I mentioned its length in the video or not? Sorry about that. You will need to move both seats forward so it fits the space.
This good idea when I travel to Colorado. I’m never fan of staying in motel just to get few hours of sleep. Beside Rocky Mountain fresh air are much better than motel air. I didn’t watch the whole video. Where can I buy this air twin mattress?
Hi Eugene, lunolife.com use code HUTTON15 for 15% off. Enjoy. It is a sweet set up!
Just one question. Where do u store your luggage? If u r travelling long distance, there should be quite of things and storage space is needed.
So far on my short trips with camping gear I have placed them under the car at night or on the roof. Another option is to throw up a small tent and keep it out of the weather in there.
Love it! Thanks for the video. How many feet long is it?
Hi Ashley, I can not remember the exact length, but Is at least 6 feet long. It fits from the very back of the car to the front seats when pushed all the way forward. I'll check when I get home and see if I can come up with a more specific size for you. I am 5' 9"s tall and fit with no issue, but I think over about 6' you would have to lay at a slight angle.
@@AZdroptop Awesome, thanks so much! Trying to figure out how to make this work with my boyfriend who is 6'6... Help? LOL
@@AZdroptop I was thinking maybe a hatch camping tent if he's too long for us to close the door? Tall people problems...
10:33 God interrupts. Great video ;)
:) Thank you.
@@AZdroptopexcuse me, what is the device that fills it with air?
Hey Rick,
Do you know if your discount code will still be valid once they release the new mattresses May 15th?
Thanks for the solid review!
Yep. It will still work!
@@AZdroptop Awesome, thank you!
May 15th is the release day if you had not heard. :)
The one concern I would have is if this thing starts leaking you won’t just wake up uncomfortable, you’re probably going to wake up with a real tweaked neck.
Hi Matt no leaks so far and if it does leak it would just be like sleeping in a bag on the ground?
Is there any foam inside the mattress? My complaint with air mattresses without foam is that they don't compress like an actual mattress and, like you said, they can be difficult to get all the air out of.
Hi Alex, no foam inside. It is super easy to get the air out and get it back in the bag. The valves on the mattress are really good. I open the valves, fold it over and roll it once. That's pretty much it and it goes back in the bag. As for feel, to me it feels better than a standard air mattress. It isn't completely different...its still an air mattress, but it is definitely better. Throw down a nice blanket over it and it helps.
Nice demo. What is the product ID no. and cost ? Did you say we could get some discount ?
Thank you. Not sure of the product ID number but here is a link to it. Yep, on the discount, 15% off with HUTTON15 lunolife.com/products/signature-air-mattress
Is there any way to combat the slight slope? I notice my back is more elevated towards the front. Does the mattress account for this
Hi John, The mattress itself does not account for the seat slope, but with the mattress I don't find it as noticeable. If it really bothers you check out my sleeping platform video as I used a piece of 3/4 plywood to try and reduce the slope. Best of luck and thank you for watching. czcams.com/video/g3n0JQxQgWM/video.html
That gap is a deal breaker. Maybe make a wedge that fits in?
Between the two sides you are talking about? You could turn the mattress over as well if each side is at a different firmness level.
Nice, better than that bulky thing for a Tesla, this is a better option.
It is definitely a nice set up!
You have chairs in your car???? 🤣 🤣 🤣
Great video! What is the length of the mattress you used? I'm 5'10" so I'm curious about comfort.
Hi Michael, I am 5'9 and there is room for about a 6 footer I would say. I'm sorry I don't and a specific length of the mattress. The website say up to 6'2". I am not normally an air mattress kind of guy, but the lunolife is really nice! Easy set up and comfortable!
How tall are you? My husband is 6’1 so I wonder if he would be able to lay flat or he is too long for the crossstrek
I am 5'9. Luno life says up to 6'1, but he may have to lay just a bit sideways.
How long does it take for you to inflate one of the extension blocks? I just bought the 2.0 (with your discount code, thank you!) and the inflation seems to take forever! I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong.
It is very quick..maybe a minute or so? Is it possible one of the valves is open slightly? You are welcome! I hope hope enjoy the sleeping experience.
I think something's wrong with mine. Each extension block and each mattress side takes more than 5 minutes to have any semblance of inflation. Even after that, they are all flabby and I'm never able to inflate to a decent level of firmness.
For example if I sit upright on the mattress, all the air will move out from under me such that I can feel all the bumps of the hard surface that I'm lying on, and I can't inflate the mattress enough for that not to happen. I'll be contacting Luno support on this.
I got it figured out. The printed instructions incorrectly said to use the middle of the three small attachments for the pump. You shouldn't use ANY of the small attachments for the pump, just go with the default large attachment.
Oh good! Glad you got is sorted out. Have fun out there.
I didn't catch how tall are you, man? Thanks for your help!
Hey Levi, I am 5''9's. Cheers
I have a five door (hatchback) subaru 2020 impreza model. Would this Luno Air Mattress work like in the crosstrek?
Hi Paula, it should work with no issues. They are currently selling the second round of the 2.0 and they are available very soon. HUTTON10 for 10% off if you order. Have fun.
I know it's a stupid question.
does this fit in Forester?
Not a stupid question. They do make one for the Forester and my guess is it is the same one. They have a 2.0 model now that has some nice improvements. The coupon code mentioned in the video description still works if you decide to buy one. Have fun!
May I ask...which way is up? ...in this video, Rick set the Luno with the gap in the middle. On the Luno website, they place the gap DOWN. Or does it not really matter...just preference?
You can use it either way. Sleeping with 2 it is probably better to have the gap down, but either way works. Thanks much for watching.
@@AZdroptop Thank you for your reply!! I just purchased a Crosstrek...so your videos are a great help as I figure out what to do with it. :)
