What's the exact story? Does his dog die? Does he drop the dog off to that other dog owner? Does he get the dog put down?
Its amazing to me how this song and video can explain so much about someone. I have friends who just dont get it, cuz they havent experienced loss...real loss. They are in the midst of the heartbreak, raising kids, etc. Nothing wrong with that. But this song is about loss.

It’s been two years since I first got my dog back in May 26th, a companion who was there through my toughest & some of the happiest moments.I first listened to the song last week and finally decided to watch the video tonight. I can’t help but break down when I watched it a couple hours ago. It’s such an amazing song. And I still have his collar hanging from my door knob. Miss you boba.

When you get to your own heaven, he'll be waiting. That's a small perfect understanding we as humans have knowing that our heaven, whenever/however it happens, will be amazing. Our dogs will be there greeting us at the door, wondering what took so long.

Been in love of this video and this album for almost 2 years now but never pointed what a low blow the story on the video is. Then I lost my cat to a terminal ilness and related so bad to the song and the video again.

This song really hits me hard, i lost my dad five years ago...and my dog buddy has been there every step of the way. He is getting older every day. All i can do is enjoy the time i have with him.
I had one dog that passed away way back when I was around 2 years old, I don't remember much of her loss. One day, a friend of mine told me that his dog had passed away and this song depictures how he felt, but I didn't get it quite right at the moment because I didn't remember much of that dog I had, and now, that's another story.
Since like a month or so, one of my oldies lost the last bit of energy to go outside, we walked her just outside our house to do her thing and then she wanted to get back. She had a lot of trouble walking, and a few days ago she couldn't stand without feeling pain, I've heard her several times crying last night, even this morning. I felt terrible because she was next door to my room, and a few minutes ago, my mom knock the door of my room saying "I'm sorry, but can you hold her and let her in the car?" and I've tried, but I couldn't. When we let her in the car I've touched her one last time, it was painful, she was cold, I said good bye, I couldn't stay there and run back home. She was a good girl, and I loved her deeply like if she was my little sister, I don't want her to suffer any longer, even if it's painful for me, she will have dignity in the end. Good bye Mora, you've been the greatest.

Mojo... A few days ago from today, I lost you, he was one of the best and brightest dogs Ive known, fucking cancer had to be the thing to do him in too... I barely even got to know him but he was my dog five years was too short. The absolute worst thing is 5 years before I lost another dog I loved to Cancer aswell... I feel like an aweful owner but all I really could wish for is to have the both of them back. RIP Mojo RIP Puppy

madinsomaniac If you've followed them, you know that they really moved away from the hardcore side of their music. If you haven't then go check out some of their older tunes. It's more along the lines of archetypal post-hardcore.

The video is beautiful but the song has such an amazing lyrical content for a loss of a friend or family member being metaphorically dead or really dead, that a video of a dog dying is sorta weird. Wasnt this sorta written about his dad's passing?
How is it weird? Many would consider their dog a close friend or even family. Seems appropriate if you ask me.
The song is about loss. Losing a loved one, whether it's a good friend, family member, pet, etc. We all go through it and will never be prepared when the time comes that they are gone.

It's about his father who was diagnosed with Primary Progressive multiple sclerosis which is the worst type of the illness and usually takes 15-20 years for people with Relapsing/Remitting multiple sclerosis to advance to progressive MS if they do at all. So his father's disability progressed quickly and took his life, It's a horrible disease and I would know because I have it as well and I just recently have progressed to secondary progressive MS myself after a long battle with it already. I met Kyle several years ago after a show and we spoke about multiple sclerosis and he was very polite and when I said I had MS he got real serious and listened to everything I had to say and we hugged at the end, great guy, great show and fuck MS.

Severin Perović Not true. There's a bit of grungier vocals in April and Repine. None of the songs are really anchored by the screams though.
+Severin Perović (sorry about the long chain of comments, yt is going wack) i didnt listen to the album, and im not all too familiar with the band, but Ive listened to a previous release (the windows one) of theirs and some of their other solos of which i was comparing, not gonna listen to the album if its filled with cringing spoken word as others have suggested the album as, same reason with the world is a beautiful place... and if they lose the screaming entirely from their band then they kind did also lose a lot of their charm.

Personally I find it a great album but it's not exactly for fans of the older stuff - that being said; this and all their previous releases have been absolutely amazing imo. I didn't mean any disrespect by the comment, just that it was a bit awkwardly worded haha (or it might just be me going crazy)
+madinsomaniac This is nothing like what The World is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die did on the "Between Bodies" ep. The World is went right back to form with second LP anyway That was just an experiment and it was awful and it contained only one song with singing. Keep You is much different in that he does this thing called SINGING throughout the whole album not "spoken word" as you say. If you can't accept a band changing sounds you are probably to young and need time for your taste in music to mature.
