    Some of these horses are a million dollars or more. I dought they are being hurt in any way. I was a trainer for 30 years and I never hurt a horse. I am proud that God let me take care of his wonderful creatures.

    I own a saddlebred who was never taught to preform these animated movements but when he gets excited he looks very similar to these horses. Saddlebred horses love to preform and show off how beautiful they are.

    The second canter transition floors me: Pretty as any equitation horse. I was so happy to see Boucheron FINALLY win the Gaited stake after winning the gelding stake for so many years and then not being able to hold it together when faced with "The Louisville Roar". Face Card, Boucheron, and now Bravo Blue... Rob always has the most wonderful stake horses.

    These horses are BRED to do this. Besides, some horses are born with the ability to rack and slow gait. PLuis, tone s of horses love to show. I've been riding for five years, and I would know!

    Some horses regardless of breed have a natural talent to rack. 5-gaited Saddlebreds are rare, and they do the gaits naturally. Yes, weighted shoes and conditioning accentuate that natural talent,but the talent has to be there. I had a Morgan that racked. She wore only standard shoes,and it was such a blast to ride her when she racked. There are abusers in every breed, and there's wonderful people who love their horses,too.

    As a ;long time Saddlebred owners as well, I can tell you the gait you see are do to collection and training, not abuse. I have had colts, barefoot in pastures running with as much motion. It is a level of excitement and collection, conditioning and training that produce this gait in the Saddlebred. I am not a fan of the cut tails but after the cut is done, there is no pain to the horse. You might be thinking of the Tennessee walker with Soring, not Saddlebred's. they don't do that

    oh! goodness no! Please do not confuse us with big Lick TWH! We do not sore our horses like the TWH trainers! This is very natural. Saddlebreds were bred for the high stepping action. You can see saddlebred foals high stepping and being only a few months old! Their tails are also natural but to enhance it you hold it up in the place you want and wrap it and keep it up for the day. This does not bug the horse at all. Please, I am a 13 year old girl who rides saddlebreds like these. I love horses

    I can tell none of the horses are abused, they may look bad, but that's because they have freakily great motion in the back feet. Trainers specially pick horses who have the motion and head set to teach five gaited to. It would hurt an aqh for instance because aqh's just don't have that motion. These horses are also at world's people, they aren't kept in some shack in a field, they are kept in big show barns with the best of care, etc. No ones going to risk and 80k horse health for showing.

  • @number1saddlerbed
    @number1saddlerbed Před 12 lety +2

    They are naturally like that plus weighted shoes help, soreing is a twh thing and their tails are "cut" meaning the two tendons holding their tails down were clipped and no it isnt painful

  • @Badgersj
    @Badgersj Před 12 lety +2

    Other breeds such as Hackneys have this high-stepping action as well, even free in the field. The Tennessee Walking Horse "trainers" who use pads and and chains to get an extravagant action out of their horses should be sat down and made to watch this video. (don't like the tails though...)

    @projectcoooks are you kidding me? i own saddlebreds and we dont "break thier tails" oh and by the way that "unnatural gait" is called a slow gait or rack and is natural for saddlebreds.......

  • @Byrd968

    Whats up with the dude in the tan hat, with chicken elbows? He could help the horse look a little better, keep his back a little more flat, chin up, elbows down. He should try harder to look like a fine rider, to match his fine horse. Lovely horses!

  • @asrotties
    @asrotties Před 12 lety +5

    I think you are confusing the breeds that are being most abused. The Saddlebred is truly bred to move like that. I am not a huge fan of the cut tail either but the movement IS a natural gait for the Saddlebred. There are 3 gaited and 5 gaited Saddlebred horses.
    I am sure that there are some trainers that abuse their horses but not all of them do.

    Wow, I love all the responses to this video that claim, we don't hurt our horses, that is a TWH thing. The truth is there are bad trainers in every breed and dicipline, but reality says they are far exagerated from what the HSUS and other groups would like you to know. QH have been bled to keep heads down, Arabs are whipped to arch neck, dessage has rollkur, the list goes on. There are sure to be bad trainers in the SB ring a well. Just don't accuse with our proof. Nice vid by the way.

  • @funnysummerfun
    @funnysummerfun Před 12 lety +1

    and I would die before I would hurt my horse. What they do to TWH is sick and all people involved should be punished badly but saddlebreds are very beautiful and know for their high stepping action. The barn we ride at, the horses have very large stalls. Mucked out every day, fed properly, not abused at all! Our trainers are so sweet and funny! The barn is a $4,000,000 dollar barn. Please look us up online or on Facebook and Louisville Equestrian Center. I ride with Betsy Webb

    Beautiful horse. Did not see any collection at all! Saddlebred people should study what true collection really is & then apply it. I guess you probably won't post this but it is the truth.

  • @funnysummerfun
    @funnysummerfun Před 12 lety

    Neophyte? I do not know what that is. Please look at my previous comment at the top. Our barn sets them but putting them in a harness for the day to the position we want. The is not bothered at all! And 99% of these tails have extra hair extensions. You can buy hair extensions like humans do. We all love our horses and would NEVER hurt them

  • @valeriems87
    @valeriems87 Před 11 lety +2

    We do no such thing. We train our horses on if they got or they don't. There are many different divisions for saddlebreds if they don't have such a animated trot. I live in tn and I'm getting so tired of those TWHs

  • @cns2782
    @cns2782 Před 11 lety +6

    Their tails are never broken, and the animals wouldnt perform and have their ears up if they werent happy. Get your facts straight.

  • @tinkerbrittany
    @tinkerbrittany Před 12 lety

    they are NOT Tennessee walking horse for one, (read the title) two, this is actually a natural stride for them, and three notice no one is agreeing with you and your lack of knowledge.

  • @HorsesAreMyLife1994
    @HorsesAreMyLife1994 Před 11 lety +1

    Horses don't stick there tails up like that naturally while in the standing position! Kinking of the tail is supposed to be natural, like when a horse is excited. I may not know much about horses, but I would like to see how they are trained to do these 5 gaits "Naturally" I know much about Tennessee Walkers, and have ridden the way less exaggerated gaits of them. They don't do any of the things show walkers can do. this is due to weighted shoes and padding. its unnatural and that's my opinion.

  • @Tennwalkerfan
    @Tennwalkerfan Před 12 lety +3

    I don't know much about saddlebreds but watch this video and then go watch a video of a TWH show. The walkers look awful and very unnatural. Have to wonder how many have been sored.

  • @theappachiprincesse
    @theappachiprincesse Před 12 lety

    It's only ignorant people who say things like that. Ya, sure there are some bad trainers but that's true for all disciplines. The "unnatural gaits" thing is total poo. These horses especially the horses in this video have been specially bred to have that gait and more importantly that motion. You can't force a horse to pick up it's feet that high- the horse has to be able to on it's own. Like making a person touch your nose to your elbow, its impossible. Trust me, these horses are not abused.

  • @Tennwalkerfan
    @Tennwalkerfan Před 12 lety +2

    Hurting horses is NOT TWH thing! All disciplines have stupid trainers! You can have a big lick horse without the horse being in pain!

  • @1110horsecrazy
    @1110horsecrazy Před 12 lety

    I couldn't agree more. Watching this is sickening and knowing they hurt theses horses to train them to do this makes me very upset. Saddlebred horses are very beautiful but no one knows because this is all they see of them.

  • @Squashnmoon
    @Squashnmoon Před 12 lety

    This is the ugliest, sloppiest riding of any horse sport. Why do they sit so far back and have their hands all over the arena? Everything about it looks so unnatural and uncomfortable for the horse and rider.
