- Friend and Fellow CZcamsr, @UncleJessy asked me to create a tutorial after he saw a post of mine from Twitter showcasing a Faux Mud technique I used on my Halo ODST Shins/Boots. So here it is! Don't thank me, Thank Uncle Jessy!

Omg! Can’t believe how simple that is! And looks amazing! Thanks for making this man
Anytime bro. Thanks for the Idea!!!
Thank you so very much for sharing your process!!! I've been struggling to get a good weather effect on my cosplay and this has given me hope to try again!
I’m definitely going to try this on my armor once I get closer to finishing it! It looks better than just doing paint chipping and scratches
you can also buy just earth tone pastel sets for under 15 which will give yeah more earth tones as well.
Even better!
Thanks for this tutorial!
I just ordered the pastels. I make props to use in our vintage videos we shoot for our CZcams channel and I needed this for an archeological video.
Oooh this will be great for that application!
This is so sick!
So good.
love it! great tips and your videos keep getting better and better too! keep on rocking!
Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing!
This is nice and helpful!
Pastels.... that's such a good quick process. Thanks for this!
Dude this was so fun to watch
great stuff brudduh
Yessssirrrrr
Dang you make this look easy! I bet even @Uncle Jessy wouldn't screw this up! 😝🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
Do you need to seal it once you're done to prevent it rubbing off or does it stay pretty much as is?
Wondering the same. Oh, and thanks for showing your technique, Darryl!
You can with matte varnish or alternatively add in some pigment binder to help adhesion. If its too chunky on the surface the varnish won't keep it in place. So be mindful of how much "mud" you're adding!
Great tutorial, I was just wondering if there is much transfer of the pastel pigment onto other surfaces?
Oh never mind, I've just seen your reply to someone else's comment, thank you
I’m building a halo reach armour and I’m trying to mud up the shins on it so it looks more real (I’m basing it off the halo infinite version) and I was thinking of using real mud then somehow keeping it on there until I realised that it would create mould
Real mud works too. This will keep the “mud” on your parts though.
@@offearth3d I was thinking of real mud but it’s just not as controllable as this stuff
Does the mud affect stay on or will it rub off easily?
Would this work on fabric?
Did you do it any differently for the chest piece? It looks overall less muddy and more so confined to cracks and crevices and edges on the piece rather than the whole thing
I didn’t cake it on.
does this work on fabric, or would we need a fabric medium??
I haven't tried it but i bet it would
black wash before or after clear?
After, Always after!
Dirty video Dude!
Does Jun need to get dirty? Hmmm
I think Jun needs to get dirty!
