not alone does Eddie and her beautiful friends preserve and promote the great and beautiful works of Robert Burns. but the do it so well with great musicians I saw her live last year with Donal Lunny She has a great personality on stage xx
I've had the album for years and liked the song. But I've just been touring Scotland for the first time properly and when I played your burns album this song stuck.. I sing this song in my head will be a forever memory of my grand tour.. thank you.. I'll gang to the Highlands any day again xxxx
I can't understand why more people hanent liked this song. It is a true gem. I became a huge fan of Eddie the first time i fou d her on CZcams and bought all of her music i can find, alas it is all mp3 off amazon. Haven't found any cds on this side of the pond.
Miss Reader gets more pretty as she get older. She also has lost none of that amazing voice either. I hope she will carry on singing till she is old and grey, cause the world would be a sadder place without her angel like voice.
I just wish they'd managed to cut down on the sibilance in the mix. They both have beautiful and technically accomplished voices, but it's irritating when the high frequency noise in every single "s" and "z" sound is so prominent.
Leezy Lindsay. I sang this song for my Mam who died at the the age of 39 in Dublin of cancer, within 5 days she was gone. I was 12 almost 13.
Such a devastating loss at probably the most vulnerable stage of your life!
Hope you had plenty of support & the comfort of knowing she's with God.
Sometimes I forget that 2 singers singing a simple song can be this beautiful.
first heard this song in c.1976 sung by a floor singer at Dartford Folk Club - and it has stayed with me ever since - thanks to that unknown singer

Eddie Reader melts my heart 💖
Oh my dear god. Some of your angels are down here, singing. And they've found some of the most amazing people to make music with.
Their voices really match well. Lovely.

Ye canny beat a guid auld Scots sang, sung by by twa bonny Scottish lassies.
I think Burns had it right. This a pure substitute.

I am a great fan of Eddie Reader, but she has butchered one of the most beautiful songs in the Scottish
Historical folk tradition.
