It isn’t for you to insert your anime kinks onto your players without their consent or ability to stop the creepiness you are forcing onto their characters. Me: DM sorry for interrupting, but I feel like this is my character. So what I would do when I see the vampire is [proceeds to describe the scene in horrible, gory, monstrous details, taking care in making it as uncomfortable as possible and being dead serious]
Then get up and leave the table. People like this DM enjoy control over the uncomfortableness they bring. Take it away from them and the moment they hear a single word they don't like coming from a mouth that isn't yours, they flip out.
Me as a gore hound and horror fan : *Takes a shot* let's go
It also doesn't matter if the person grew up around a Sex Postive enviroment, an *actual* sex postive person would have understood bounderies better than this person did. Consent would have also been a HUGE point for a sex positive person because they would want to be respected as well. The point of sex postivity is that it's more about how comefortable *you are* in *your own skin* and not forcing it on other people. I have a feeling the DM twisted the actual meaning of the term just to get the OP to not argue with their choices in the game. Which backfired.
This, mostly. I would say another point for sex positivity is creating an environment where *everyone* is more comfortable with themselves, but that goes hand-in-hand with having a framework for what everyone expects. You know, that whole "showing basic consideration for other people" bit that's a big part of being a decent person.
@@TransientWitch Yep, this point you make is the reason why I think he only used the whole "sex postive enviroment" Argument to shut any questions down, especually since a lot of his players were first time players and didn't even know what a session 0 was.

My group was infiltrating a demonic brothel, with our fighter and druid going inside, and my ranger waiting outside.
Our DM described, in great detail, the druid being mounted by a centaur demon, and I got super uncomfortable for the rest of the session.
I explained NY issues to him, and we've never had a graphic set scene since.
Hopefully it stays that way
If the sorcerer can cast wish to undo an unwanted pregnancy, why wasn't a wish cast to undo the dryad transformation? Or at least remove the uncontrollable pheromones? Makes no sense.
The DM decides whether a wish is granted. Likely wouldn’t allow him to un-dryad her.
Nowhere in the story did they say that they try to reverse her curse in any way. Bad things happen to characters that's what makes it interesting. We had the same thing occur in a game of Pathfinder. But we had the sense to realize the Crystal shards were related to the seven deadly sins and we're going to use them anyway. It sounds like a bad group of inexperienced players
@@dm2ortiz Bad things happening to PCs is one thing. It often offers players a chance to engage in role-play while deepening their characterization with moral dilemmas and difficult decisions. This is different. It removed choice from the equation and redid existing characterization without genuine interaction between the player and DM, all while inserting needlessly sexually charged themes into the campaign. Player boundaries weren’t discussed or respected. Player agency was removed via railroading. And it didn’t even have fun results. This sounds like the DM’s fault to me. New players just wouldn’t know to call him out on it.
So this is basically giving a PC whats basically a permanent werewolf curse?
Personally I'd rejoin the campaign as a Male anti-Mamono Paladin, trying to end this vile plague. Also Paladins gain disease immunity early on, and since a Mamono would be more concerened with s*x you should be fairly competent at killing them.
I am the cleric in this story, he tried to wish it away but the DM wouldn’t let him.
He wasn't drinking. He was deflecting the issue. It was smart to leave when he was proven to be an unapologetic bastard
Honestly, I miss the stories where the focus was on the story built by the players. I just loved the Astashan, Onyxia, Oogie, the three goblins Malkot, Ctunk and Zeng and so many other characters you guys brought to light along the years
Didn't they say they were going to start doing more positive stories? I Don't quite remember 100% but I'm fairly certain there was some post like that and then i don't think i saw a non-horror story from them after that
Honestly I'm fine with this kind of thing once in a while but after soooo many in a row, I'm burnt out on it at this point
Edit: apparently going back and reading it, they didn't mention positive stories specifically but the post was supposedly about doing more actual D&D stories instead of stories about the group themselves.
I still don't think they kept their word, because what else is this video about?

Holy crap. Talk about railroading. That's really over the line. When this happens to you (even without a session 0), stop the game, and tell the DM immediately that this is not ok.
I always have a session 0, but I also have a set of rules that includes NO unwanted sexual content is allowed. Because its always gross. ALWAYS!
I feel like saying "it's the source material" is just DM speak for "it's what my character would do".
If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: don't make big changes to player characters for no reason, and definitely ask them if you're about to do so for no reason. If a werewolf bites a PC, cool, they're a werewolf now! If a PC needs to sacrifice a finger or something bad happens, cool, they made the choice, now they reap the rewards. If someone wants to take a kind of established character, and that character happens to have the horny magic, I think making them hornier MIGHT be ok as long as it doesn't change the PC too much, (as long as the DM doesn't take control). I would even say that in this case, saying "It's not what my character would do" is completely ok to say.
Exactly. Once was in a Warhammer game as a guy that got turned into a skaven but kept his mind. Since he was a fire-mage he explained his heavy obscuring clothing as him having burnt himself terribly and wanting to hide his deformity. First five minutes of the first session, GM forced me to roll a magic check, and as such roasted the clothing clean off, revealing not a skaven, but a "man that looks like overcooked bacon, like he just got back from Mustafar." Which was absolutely not what was agreed on and approved. Instantly killed all enthusiasm and enjoyment, alongside more trainwreck decisions made all the players unanimously decide to bail so hard he disappeared from the official discord dedicated to the system.
This.... this gives me the uncomfortable feeling of the DM being my old DM... because this is the kind of game he looked to run after the whole group decided to move on from him as a DM XD

The MOMENT I lose player agency, I'm done. It happened to me during a campaign before, when all of us were transformed into dolls. We lost most of our abilities for three sessions and were pretty miserable. I started out playing a Dwarf Barbarian for four sessions and a doll for three. Not fun. The minute the DM takes over my character, I'm gone.

Sooooo… I’m the cleric in the story 🥲 we haven’t played with him in a long time, he played the victim hard and we all ditched. He still messaged me and it’s super weird lol, but I’ve told him to leave me alone yesterday and I think he’s finally listening.
Glad they stood up for themselves. Too many people suffer bad GM's and I hate to see it.
The valuable lesson he learned from that girl's total 180 is that apologizing and offering to fix the issue is all you can do. If that's not good enough for her, good riddance. The rest of the players can carry on without her and her girlfriend.

I would have been like: Ok so my speices changed, thats fine i can tweak my char a bit for this why not. {Sex thing gets explained} Oh so you just turned my char into your char! Ok then well now we putting this on pause while I make a new char then! We can resume when my new char is done then add the new char in at a good time for them to show up!
Then assumeing people are ok with that Id take as long as possible to make the new char so then either the sex thing gets dropped or the session ends for that night. Not like Id have somewhere else to be! As you dont mess with chars if their player dont like it.
Do I care that my reaction might be passive agressive? No I dont as people shouldn't be putting their fetishes into the game like this. The DM wants to make a char like this? Fine, either get permission from the player they picked, away from the others if they want to surprsie them, or the DM can make their own char like that themselves! Wont lie this would piss me off!

I'm very much for the Mamano* going OVER THERE where it doesn't have as much influence, namely due to intervention by the cleric's god(s?) and their allies , than ripping it completely out of the game, mainly because I'd rather have it there as reminder that "we're okay with sexual stuff just not it being forced on us "
That a really crappy DM. This is stuff that they should have asked the party about in session 0. This is clearly just a sexual fantasy of the DM that they’re acting out on you without your consent and I’m sorry it happened
Removing agency from your players' characters is the best way to ruin their fun.
That is the whole point of a curse.
There's a reason they exist in the game. It's an obstacle to be overcome
Look....If your table is using a book like MGE or the more sex-positive work BEF. Then you either know what you're getting into with that table or you should walk away.
On a more meta level, DMs shouldn't apply zombie rules to a given setting without establishing this in session 0.
I'm not gonna pretend like I've never had some slightly nsfw elements in any ttrpgs but literally forcing them onto players like this is bullshit. And I admit I haven't brushed up on the MGE recently but doesn't it usually take a bit longer then one interaction to cause a full transformation like that?

I think I wouldn't mind a DM taking creatures/races from the MGE because there is a lot of variety there, just, y'know, strip away all the rules/logic of that "world setting" as all it is a setup from sex stuff.
Also, I find it very interesting that some people have ZERO idea of what things are socially acceptable, like how did the GM in this story not even think to ask their players if it was ok.
Regardless of being raised in a "sex-positive" house, I feel like the GM would've/should've picked up on obvious social cues of people they've interacted with throughout their 20+ years of life to realize "Huh, maybe not everyone wants to hear about a someones ***** getting ****** until they ***. Who knew?"
So the dungeon master should have read her body language. Rather than her actually speaking up for herself.
Maybe the player should have researched the source material and she would have known what she was getting into.

The original storyteller said, and I quote, "...what I WASN'T aware of was the fact the automaton was a Mamano from the MGE..." as well as "...so of course, an attractive, as per the DM, Vampire walks into the room SHORTLY after I was bitten and my character immediately mates with him(character out of his control) and becomes pregnant..."
They only figured out the details about the MGE after they were surprised with it in the campaign.
Leave sex out of games unless you address it on session one....

@@dm2ortiz it sounds like the dm chose to role play it for them, by taking control of the character. Not that any PC should be cursed with ‘become a rapist’ without the whole party’s explicit consent to it

See, the critical sign from the first half that this DM wasn't actually handling this appropriately was that there was no mention or indication of Session Zero or Safety Tools being in place. Dude might be gregarious and not overtly creepy with this stuff. But not establishing boundaries and consent before putting this on another player, especially to the point of removing total agency from the player while they went on to sexually assault an NPC! Yeah... that is not someone who is going to actually be a good GM.

I played D&D for years and I don't remember this much sex involved in the game. I guess it was just the type of DMs we had...🤨
Indeed. There are two main reasons for this.
1. We have different people now. I can really only speak for America, but when DnD released its earlier stuff, we had a post-Christian culture. Say what you want about "Evil" Christianity; it gave us a moral fabric wherein adultery was unthinkable evil, let alone rape. So, since this type of thing wasn't tolerated but was more condemned, people were far less likely to pull this crap. Now, as people abandon Christianity in favor of secular humanism, they also abandon the more rigid standards that came with it, and make their own rules to suit them. So, there is less backlash for this behavior.
2. It's the Internet. Only the extreme stuff, positive or negative, gets traffic here. No one wants to hear about your normal DnD campaign, because they could just watch a movie or play their own, depending on their fancy. So, the only stories that make waves are the ones that have extremely cool stuff, or massively toxic stuff, or grossly horrifying stuff going on in them.

First of all the story writer shouldn't be saying anyone's a bad communicator when she herself can't actually communicate her displeasure.
If your character has been cursed well then fix it. That's the whole point of adventures. Adventurer shape the world around them.
I had a player who wanted to play a trans character. I told him trans doesn't exist in this D&D world. Instead of pouting he asked why not. I said because there's plenty of magic that will change your sex instantly, therefore no one is transitioning. He said he wanted to have his character seek out this magic. After a few months adventuring he was finally able to find the magic he desired for his character.
And they all lived happily ever after.
Lol yah, true. In D&d unless it's a really low magic universe they could just....make your body be whatever you're comfortable with. Honestly I wish we could do that IRL for my trans friends I've had over the years but it seems like God doesn't wanna make with the magic or hand over a spell book or anything 😂. Aw well, science will fix this silly oversight eventually, glad your player had a good adventure and is being whoever they were meant to be. ❤
It's pretty clear that the DM is on the spectrum, so I can't say that most of his behavior is unheard of. What I can criticizes is the way they took away player agency and changed their whole character without even asking, or thinking ahead that they might take exception to it..That's kinda messed up.
Please do not blame this on autism, I'm autistic and I know very well to not do anything like this at the game table.

Looking at the comments I see it must be just how young people are these days.
I haven't watched a video in a while, so I don't know the reason for the change and apologize if I am out of line for saying this, but I do not like the new voice for the stories. Please bring back the old voice if possible. I just cannot listen to these as is.
