I got the amazing opportunity to conduct the Regiment hornline through Ave Maria. This was just before my senior year of high school-first time conducting a group by myself.
@futuremaster1000 yeah, I could have done more with my cues. but, in my defense, that was my first time conducting a group on my own. however, i still feel as if i put a lot into it emotionally and i am very happy with what i did. i am capable of giving different cues, just watch the other videos this guy posted! thanks for the feedback!
@hhsconductor2012 Out of all the educational clinics we did last year you were by far the best conductor. Don't let it go to your head now ;) but keep up the great work
You don't always need fancy cues man, let the music speak. Really beautiful..the music and the conducting. I've done a year of corps as a DM and I'm pushing to continue. I hope to see you along the way!!
@futuremaster1000 no worries. my band had a little over one eighty total members this year. and yes, last year (before the video was recorded) i was a side conductor and this year, i was the center drum major
@futuremaster1000 Chief first time out that was actually pretty damn fantastic. I doubt you'd have done better at 15 coming off the bench. Nice work kid. You're gonna be great!
Hello Phantom Regiment. I am my high school drum major in the Rose parade. After I graduate from high school, i plan on going to Phantom Regiment and become a conductor ASAP. I just wanted to introduce myself to you and say hello. It is my life dream to conduct Phantom in DCI Finals ever since I was 10. I look forward to seeing you next year. :) I will be at your camp.
@hhsconductor2012 Your welcome man again your really good and I understand how it is your first time in front of a group you know a little nervous but I can tell that you calmed down and freed up a bit more as you went along which is always good. You are a drummajor correct? How many do yall have just out of curiosity? And sorry if I sounded a little negative I wasnt trying to be I was just saying that you could have been a little more expressive but again really good conducting I really enjoyed
nice dream! I too also have that dream! Maybe one day you and I both can conduct side by side for Phantom! And congrats on being Drum Major in the Tournament of Roses? What band are you marching? I'll be in the Tournament of Roses as well! I'll be marching with Music for All's 2013 Bands of America Honor Band!
@N8TheSnake Ha, I love to be doubted by people who think there better me just to kick there ass in contest. Ill upload vids of me conducting soon to prove my point. And yes he was pretty good like I said in my original post but theres a lot more he could have added, wouldnt really consider that negative just saying he could have added more.
honestly, I have no idea. I just took it close to the tempo that they had played this at right before i went up. the percussion in the background wasn't helpful at all, haha
hi im trying out to be drum major at my school and im using your video as my audition piece. i was wondering if you remember what tempo you took this at
I love everything about this. The musicality in the direction was great. However, it kinda bugs me that he never uses his left arm for "3". Not sure why. Odd.
Seabass the thing is that y'all didn't really put any emotion while y'all conducted it always seem soo dry and strict. That's coming from fluffy lol but u were my fav drum major conducting lol
Well I will say that hes a good (fluid) conductor but hes boring he only does the same stuff over and over and he could have a lot different and better cues than what he was giving
Dang. He didnt just conduct though. though he put everything he had into it.And i loved every second of it. keep that fire

Still watching in 2020. I was a saxophone in 2009 the heist for LHS and miss the experience so badly. Love you all.
This is a year late but, I went to LHS and came in as a freshman the year after The Heist. So happy to see a comment repping our band here :)
@@jaredbitz did you participate in THE WILD? watch the lhs the wild performance. Love the intro.

Who is your mellophone soloist from last year and what drumcorps is he marching with?
What grade is this piece? I'm interested in conducting this song for my Drum Major auditions (:

gotcha. well, he's a two year all state horn player, but he is not marching with any corps this summer
are you talking about my high school marching band or phantom regiment?
I love everything about this. The musicality in the direction was great. However, it kinda bugs me that he never uses his left arm for "3". Not sure why. Odd.

@futuremaster1000 And been more expressive
Seabass the thing is that y'all didn't really put any emotion while y'all conducted it always seem soo dry and strict. That's coming from fluffy lol but u were my fav drum major conducting lol
