      Frank Kathoewer It's fun to see the mix of the old chassis and the new lid. Dana comes up with these great ideas and they always turn out well!

    Knight Customs probably. He also has some very nice stuff for the Axial JK body and the Fast Attack Buggy.
    Not a fan of the Holiday Buggy, too many around me.. lol

    • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks
      @CarminesRCTipsandTricks Před 7 lety

      Yes, Knight Customs. He's also got a kit on there (über expensive!!), that transforms the FAV into a legit Sand Rail!! 😲😲😲
      It's got so much badass - and with his full Bug flat four(sold in 4 parts), it becomes an instant Show winner! It's made to fit a small lipo under the seat cushions, and micro servo and reciever fit inside a front mounted "gas tank". There's NO body, except for the roof panel, and this kit hides modern electronics very well!
      Also, full driver, foot pedals, shifter and linkages. since all that is open..... He made it look REAL!

    You've got some nice tires there. They fit on the original rims? What tires are they?

    • @GCMRacing1
      @GCMRacing1  Před 7 lety +1

      The stock rims are 1.50 size, the tires used in the rear are the 1.55 size M/T baja tire, very small, but not an exact match for the rim size. They fit, but not perfectly.

      Thanks. I'm looking for some spare tires for my vintage Holiday.

  • @Runionbarry

    Very cool dude! One curious question, why didn't you just update the suspension?

    • @GCMRacing1
      @GCMRacing1  Před 9 lety

      Barry Runion The re-release buggy has super wide suspension and giant shocks and tires sticking out and it doesn't look at all scale. That's why he used the vintage chassis for this build.

    • @Runionbarry
      @Runionbarry Před 9 lety +1

      GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada so the vintage chassis doesn't have the capability to flex more then it does now?

    • @GCMRacing1
      @GCMRacing1  Před 9 lety +1

      Barry Runion Nope. It's stiff as a board, and has a solid fiberglass rear spring with pen springs up front. Nothing going to flex on this buggy, now matter what you do.

    Dana, I don't make a habit of straight stealing people's ideas...... BUT, that is PERFECT!!! 😊👍👍🍺🍺🍻
    I only have two Rigs left, and one is the re re Holiday Buggy. HATE the colour and the texture of the body. I recently learned that it's a variant of PVC Plastic. .......... PVC??? 😲 😲 That's more used in PLUMBING! I can only guess that Tamiya used it, so beginners can bash the CRAP oot of it.
    I had heard about that method of "prepping with a blow torch"(!!!). I've got to find that video.
    Anyway, I kept staring at it for a long while, and could not figure out what I wanted to do with it. THEN, I saw yours....
    Sorry Dana, but I'm about to do at least an 85% copy of yours! 😀😎
    Being a retired Vet, that's just plain perfect! Mine will back all re re... but I've got ideas flowing. Including some of the 3D printed engine oot back.

      @CarminesRCTipsandTricks Před 7 lety

      ...... I just kept disliking it more and more, the longer I had it. The DT-02B is an OK chassis, and with Traxxas turnbuckles, fairly tight for an entry-level Tamiya! The suspension actually WORKS, especially after adding oil shocks from an RC10. 😎
      I agree with your complaint about the wheels sticking out too far.... and fortunately, like ALL Tamiya Series kits, SHORTER arms are available from other DT-02 kits! (Just in case you wanted to do something with your newer chassis)
      A bitch I'm adding to the list, is because of the front springs - the front of the body is actually RAISED up almost 10mm, to clear the shock towers!! I guess they figured that the entry-level guy wouldn't care.......
      I'm 33 years into the Hobby - and I noticed! 😠😠 I'm either going to cut down -or melt down(since I'll be using a torch on the Body - made from kitchen pipes!!!), the shock towers, or enlarge the holes in the body.
      Maybe I'm OCD, but I don't like looking into the left fenderwell, and seeing the right tire!! (OK, yes, I'm quite OCD!) 😜
      I just wanted to apologize in advance, because mine could look an awful lot like yours.😉 Maybe some more weapons, maybe no roof - just leaving the open cage look.... anyway, I've got a lot more time than money, for the unforseeable future, but I gotta tell you - this video really lit a fire under my ass!!
