  • I love the Hemingway pouches that ‪@centerstreetquilts‬ created. As I watched her create I wondered if I could use my As Many As Technique with her idea and get two from one. I worked!
Fabric makes As Many As pretty easy, we can make fabric any size we want! lol
If you are new to this channel, check out my other channel ‪@MaymayMadeIt‬ for paper crafting.

I am convinced that every video where someone just slips the zipper pull on easy-peasy was edited to remove the 576,092,855 times they tried and failed to install it, LOL. These are very attractive, and what a clever way to put them together. Hopefully Santa will bring the zipper tape & pulls I had on my wishlist so I can make some of these in January. This is an excellent tutorial; thank you for sharing it with us all 🙂

I know what you mean. Zippers are my nemesis but I practiced with the tape before I sewed it in, over & over & over (you get the idea) until I got the knack. Good luck😊

Love the 2 from 1! Try binding from the outside side, - press away from the center, fold to the back & clip, then stitch in the ditch from the front to secure the binding.

Oh, glad to see a new channel. The other zipper tutorials are edited, until they get a successful shot of the zipper slipping right on. And you showing that it’s not perfectly square is refreshing. Other tutorials think they’re showing the perfect project technique. But I’m not perfect. This would be great for tablets or bigger for that laptop that goes back and forth to school in a backpack, with food crumbs, lint, and who knows what else. Thanks for the great idea.

The YT algorithm suggested your video and I’m so glad it did (I often question what they suggest I watch ☺️). You won me over when you said something like you weren’t the greatest at this but you just loved sewing, and I couldn’t agree more. It’s about the enjoyment we get from our hobby, not whether it’s perfect.
I’d never seen one of these pouches and loved your tutorial. You didn’t prattle on unnecessarily and your enjoyment with your sewing was evident in your voice. I love your accent by the way. Thank you and best wishes from rural Victoria, Australia. Cheers, Lisa 😀🇦🇺

Loved this tutorial! That being said, as a seasoned quilter to one who is starting out, do yourself a favor, if you won't cut paper with a dull blade, don't cut fabric with a dull blade. You not only put yourself in harm's way if that cutter slips but you also run the risk of ruining your cut which will impact your piecing. And, please, take the few minutes necessary to press the wrinkles out of your fabric. You don't need to steam or starch, just get the wrinkles and folds out. They, too, have impact on your cuts and your piecing. Looking forward to your next project!

on the zipper if you clip off a few teeth on one side and put pull onto the longer side it gives you a little extra room to get the next side into the pull. Also they make a zipper jig. Don't get the ones that are for towel holders... they look like a silver teardrop shape ... they are not helpful in my experience. Some ppl use a fork. I finally just started using the shorter teeth on one side method. I do put it down onto a table and use two fingers (one on each side of sip tape) and wiggle zipper pull it works lol.

Can vouch for how easy (and fun) this pouch is to make. The possibilities are endless. I used a larger tooth zipper because it was a two-color number that went well with my fabric, but I think yours lays flatter and looks better in the top corner using a smaller scale zipper. The pattern also has a glasses case size that would be perfect for sunglasses (as a stocking stuffer.)

I think it makes it less sick in one of the corners. I wasn’t liking how thick the one corner was, but by doing your method of binding, it should make the turned out corner much cleaner. I also like your explanation and how we can make two at once. I took the scrap piece from using the other pattern and made a bag but I liked your explanation. It gave me more confidence to try with any piece of material. Looking forward to checking out your channel.

Great tutorial. I love using the As Many As idea for sewing.
Also, check out That Purple Thang. It is even more useful than a stiletto. I love that it has a 1/4" square on the one end for checking seams.

I am glad you posted because I have the Purple Thang and I love it. I wondered if I was missing something with the stiletto, which I still may get. I never paid attention that the quarter inch measure is available on the end of the Thang

I have the purple thing, I just love the feel of the stiletto. But they are both great tools.

Dealing with back spasms so no sewing for me for a bit, but I'm going to try this as soon as I can. Great tutorial!
