    I love your cupcake soaps Karen and so glad you voiced your rant about the safety assessment rules everything you said I 100% agree with you, it is unfair and is the only thing stopping me from selling the soaps I make cause I just can't afford it, it makes me so mad 😡 btw what was the silver powder you dusted the cupcakes with, it made them so very pretty 😍💖

    Hooray, cupcakes. I just love cupcake soaps. They are so special to receive also to use. Totally gorgeous Karen. Yes…. These government rules are just money making schemes, designed to break the small business profits. Totally unacceptable for your country. 1% would hardly even have a fragrance in the finished product. 🤬🥰🤗

    Heeyyyy sista- girl from The Catskills in upstate NY! Love ur channel! I wait 7 days before I wash my soap dishes. I wash everything on Sunday and then I master batch all my oils n butters and I freeze all my ice and I weigh it as I bag it so when I just grab a bag n a bucket to make soap. It’s just a lot easier for me to do it that way.

    It does baffle me that British people are not trusted like the rest of the world to make safe body products and that so many people have made tons of money except the soap maker on this craft. It’s horrendous and unfair and thanks for standing up and saying so! You should be able to sell your soap assessments for a fee as you own them! Beautiful soaps as always 😍🥰

    Where did you get your safety assessment?

  • @7slaper
    @7slaper Před 2 lety

    Well, you're piping skills are still excellent Karen! 👌Beautiful cupcakes.
    I'm totally agreeing with you regarding the assessments! Pure robbery.
    I'm in the EU, but the rules are the same.
    IMHO, if you can produce the COA and MSDS of an ingredient, you should be allowed to use it, regardless of the supplier (like FO's often come from the same manufacturer, but they give it another name).
    Imagine how much you have to pay when you make other cosmetic products than soap!
    More bizarre even are the mica; you buy a basis of a certain amount of colours and for each additional colour, you have to pay extra.
    Insanity! Those assessors make lots of money, Within a few years, they will be retiring to their new home in the Caribbean.
    Besides that, do you trust them?
    Besides that, they rob you of your artistic freedom creating a beautiful soap.
    And then, are they able to physically prove what % of e.g. an FO is used in a soap?
    I'm all for good labelling, give allergy info to the customers - the total package. But this ....
    End of rant. 🤣 Have a good day!

  • @twosheepsoapery

    I personally think all these assessments are a huge swizz. Yes they are a requirement now but it still peeves me paying it. Especially certain companies who shall remain nameless that charge numerous extortionate 'admin' fees for various things. Then they have bought out a charge for EU customers - a toxicology charge. No other chemists add this fee onto their reports for eu customers & yes, I have spoken to many chemists about this subject. I did email this particular chemist about this & got into a argument & he threatened me with a solicitor. Subsequently I got bullied by all his friends on social media & had to shut down my original account as I was being trolled relentlessly because I spoke about this issue on my account. It was horrendous. I have all the emails. It’s a total rip off & a money making scheme. I will always speak out about this & never forget it. I’m a registered aromatherapist since 1996 & have formulated soap & cosmetics for years. I feel really put out that I have to pay for someone to check my formulas when I’m already qualified & studied for 4 years in total. As to the cupcake/food imitation nonsense….Karen, ignore the trolls. You’ve been making them since gods dog was a pup. You & me know all about trading standards in various areas & all the rules of old. You get the usual relative newbies having a pop all the time about food imitation. Wind your neck in & worry about your own business for once, not what others are doing. Jealousy is a nasty trait. Xxx

      As a newbie would you be willing to share the knowledge you have as to why these cupcakes are legal to sell?
      Not having a pop lol seriously curious as i am currently looking at designs and the food imitation thing is really kinda scaring me... as pretty much anything with piping on could be food imitation depending on how people interpret it and i dont wanna get fined or anything but like piped soap in jars like body butter type things, piping on soap with embeds etc im finding could be a minefield and id love to make cupcakes but i dunno if thats even a possibility some help from someone with knowledge of the industry would be really helpful

    I always wait until the following day to wash my CP soap dishes as then it has suponified. Your Cupcake Soaps are always gorgeous to look out. The rules and regulations and safety assessments soap makers have to go through in the UK seems very harsh and ridiculous compared to Australia and USA. 5% Fragrance Oil for soaps in Australia and we can use or make any recipe or use any Australian bought FO or products it's so unfair for soapers in UK for new soapers it's extremely hard to start a business from the ground up,

    • @susanmoyle8143
      @susanmoyle8143 Před 2 lety +2

      Tanya, I am also in Australia and I always buy my fragrance oils from Australian suppliers. I have some that is 1.2% max usage. I always check the max usage rate for all my oils because they do vary.
      I also wait until the next day to do my dishes but I’m always extra careful as I’m sure you are too 😊
