He’s unreal…I got all the divine intel and he dead hit me with 9999…..but this video is soo helpful I finally won with 1hp and a cross slash limit away from death 😂
I can't beat it, got revival earrings on everyone, all have debuff spells, atb boost, first strike, even have the pheonix as my summon because he always hits me twice with the one hit kill. But the pheonix doesn't do shit, it still ends the game
You need to stagger him fast. Use Tifa. His Zantek move is either time based(unconfirmed) or something else that I can't figure out what.
Just build stagger fast with Tifa. Chi Trap x2, Unbridled Strength, Spam Omnistrike/True Strike.
@@NoHairD0ntCare I ended up doing it solo with cloud, made it a lot easier for him not to use his ultimate attack
@@NoHairD0ntCareso Odin does his instant kill if you get hit by his moves a lot but if you do a lot of damage and barely take any hits your fine. You can’t be overly aggressive with him but you can’t be overly defensive either.
And why doesnt safety bit work when it says immunity against instant death???
I knew Odin was powerful but goddamn I didn’t know he was that powerful enough to fucking one shot me in 50 secs at the start of the battle
ATB skills .. the more the better , once he's pressured the stagger bar goes up way faster !
I tried getting a win against him as soon as I found all 3 of his strines and everything was good until he 1 shotted me 😅.. I went through the rest of the game forgetting about trying to acquire him as a summoning but here I go now trying to squeeze a win against him watching multiple videos on how to beat it him lol 😂
Yup and I'm back after 7 failed attempts.. yup that quick .. it's just not gonna happen tonight I guess lol 😅😅
you have to keep him from doing his finisher for as long as possible by evading and countering his attacks and pressuring him, casting detrimental effects on him delays it to. Equipping revival earrings helped that way you can get away with him one-shoting at least one time lol.
Here’s how I beat Odin:
My toons were lvl 44-46. Difficulty Easy.
Yuffie is essential for this fight. She is by far the most mobile character, and can dodge all Odin’s attacks with relative ease AND she can keep damaging Odin with her remote controlled weapon while doing it.
I gave Yuffie ALL the recommended materia, which is:
Disempowerment (lvl 1)
Enervation (lvl 2)
Precision Defense Focus (lvl 2)
Poison (lvl 2) (Yes it does work)
Bahamut Arisen
Weapon used: Crescent Sickle
Weapon Skills: Synergy Damage Up, Limit Break Damage +10%, Shuriken Mastery
Spend all initial ATB on casting all the status effect spells on Odin, and maintain them religiously. Whenever I had ATB to spare I did “Art of War” at the opportune moment right after Odin done a move. You don’t wanna do it while he’s beating on you. Otherwise STAY THE FUCK AWAY from him while keeping you remote control shuriken on him, dodge, run, and block only of you need to.
Keep performing ATB attacks and Limit Breaks with the AI controlled characters. Using their ATBs is mainly to create Synergy attacks, which helps to halt Odin’s attacks. Cast Bahamut as soon as available. While he is active, use all your ATB to cast Summon abilities.
After a while, Odin will become pressured and his Stagger gauge will fill rapidly. WHEN STAGGERED, I switch to CLOUD and spam Braver. Don’t forget to check all characters for Synergy and Limit Breaks. With a little luck you should a few lined up at this point.
Rinse & Repeat. Odin died on the 2nd Stagger. At that point he had done his Gjalerhorn Warning right before the Stagger.
Good luck. It seems impossible, but if I can do it, anyone can. I’m a total amateur gamer, and was about to say fuck it and never look back. But using Yuffie, I noticed I was able to keep the fight going longer and longer each time (about 5-6 tries) and that’s all I need to keep going.
Thank you for this. Bested Odin using your explanation. It is also worth mentioning that after his 1st stagger. Status effects will be ineffective. So should focus mainly on dodging and atb abilities. Instead of using Art of War i used Blindside instead. Gives me plenty of room to dodge afterwards. Could not have beated him without your tips.
Hey I just glad I was able to help. I honestly didn’t notice that the status effects were useless after the first stagger. I was too busy running and dodging. Also I was too mentally encumbered to dare try anything other than what I knew to work, so using anything other than Art of War never even occurred to me LOL.
Anyhoo, it’s good to have to Odin Materia because you’ll need it when forging the Protorelic… amd that’s when your chin will surely rest firmly in your lap when you realize you now need to face both Odin and Alexander at the same time. I beat this on 2nd try, but it seemed as if it was a bit easier TBH.
Thanks so much. I didn't realize how important it was to have the debrave/defaith whatever equipped. Was able to beat the Gilgamesh challenge with tifa/barret/cloud
Thanks for the tips! Using enervation and disempowerment materia helped a lot!
Great guide. I beat it first time after watching! Thank you
thx helped alot other vidtubers just shows what they used this was spot on
These tips helped. Also, having Phoenix summoned was something I added to my encounter and it helped.
Pheonix didn't revive my party after he wiped everyone with the his finisher.
My tip is… control cloud only… use other two to heal and be ready to bash the block button in punisher mode to parry his strikes. Some moves you will have to dodge but you can get a great deal of ATB, limit gauge this way and his block/parry does not count as a hit. Cast Bravery as well to up his attack stat. Switching to other characters occasionally to heal will build the Synergy as well. Try using one that will increase his limit break to help finish the fight quicker.
You need to explain reprisal. If a character takes too many hits they get red handcuffs that mean they can’t use abilities or else they get hit with reprisal.
The red handcuffs go away after about 30 seconds.
OH THAT'S WHAT IT IS! I THOUGHT IT WAS FUCKING LUCK BASED OR SOMETHING
@@Triforce_of_Doomlmao, i thought it was because you attacked behind him, but i still got hit lol xD
Then reprisal will trigger Zet?
Does that mean that if I use an attack while in that condition, the only thing I will achieve is for him to use his attack even faster?
Revival Earrings helped the most for me because I did fine until he hits the Zantetzuken with the unavoidable 1-hit KO. Reprieve wasn't as much of a help because it raises you with just 1 HP. I equipped Cloud with it and it revived him after the Zantetzuken, but Odin just came up and immediately killed him again with a single attack before I could use a Curaga spell.
Me lucky summon Phoenix & buff all party with Reraise before Odin Zantetsuken 😎
I had that happen, not even a second to react afterwards and he just sliced me in the face. The guy killed me and then killed me again. It was pretty comical despite how frustrating it is.
I managed to beat him with Cloud, Aerith, and Yuffie. Switching characters kinda helps before he strikes. I also spammed thundaga on him just so he can use sleipnor's fury (pressured him). I went in hammering him with physical attacks, magic, and using debuffs until he was staggered. Just rinse and repeat and viola...he's done for. Also having revival earrings equipped on at least one of your party members is a game changer just in case he does use Zantetsuken
This battle is all about hit and run strategy and mitigate his attacks as much as possible make sure to have revival earing on all characters and like he said use disempowerment and enervation not only to debuff him but to pressure him i also put synergy paired with poison to damage him without having to be near him helped a lot i found its good to have precision defense focus materia on all characters as well to parry his attacks if you good at reading odin moves.
Just beat Odin on normal after about a straight hour of attempts. This is what my set up was: Cloud - Red - Cait
*Red* is actually the perfect counter and the person I was controlling 90% of the fight.
Red brings Supernal Fevor and Watcher’s Respite and both synergies with needing to precise/block Odins abilities. All of this blocking also combos with using the Draconic Ring for his Limits
I kept haste on the entire team with Supernal Fervor the *ENTIRE* fight. And healed with Respite when needed. If you’re precise blocking often enough this is easy to achieve as vengeance gage fills after only a couple attacks from Odin.
With Cait specifically I had the Iron Megaphone equipped with his debuff extension weapon skill AND the Marlboro Orb to further extend detrimental status effects
If you want to go the safe route (which I did) you’re gonna want to conserve mana because debrave costs an absurd 10 mana and and keep a debuff on Odin *WHENEVER POSSIBLE*
I’ve found that when Odin is focused on chasing Red around he will be less likely to interrupt Cait casting spells.
It is not guaranteed *do not get discouraged*
The main things that will set off Zantetsuken is being hit by too many moves *AND* not applying *CONSTANT* pressure with attacks.
The main use for cloud is just to focus thrust Odin when he’s pressured after casting Sleipnir’s furor. IMMEDIATELY get him staggered ASAP.
After he’s staggers unleash any synergy abilities and limits.
I had no revival accessories and didn’t use phoenix or any summons. - ATB bars were too valuable to waste on summons. It actually killed me a couple times summoning something.
Hope this helps someone. Good luck!
I used Tifa, Cloud and Barret. Kept using deprotect and deshell and immediately switched to a different player each time I was about to get hit. Keep limit break and synergy until he is staggered. You can’t lose.
I get that Odin is meant to be hard but the fact you have to run then dodge to avoid some of his attacks and the ai isn't smart enough to have the other characters in your party try to dodge is annoying as all hell. I haven't tried fighting him since watching this, but I tell you even with his power reduced three levels he is still stupid strong. Reminds me of Bahamut in Remake. At least in that fight you knew you had a timer counting against you. This is run dodge and hope you can manage the fight. SMH
That's the whole reason this demake sucks. Not being able to control all party members at once ruins it. You shouldn't have to dodge and parry in a final fantasy game.
@@terry85marand you shouldn’t have to take turns to fight in any game
@@terry85marthe remake has rave reviews. It doesn't suck no matter your opinion or mine on it.
This fight isn't as hard as people are making it out to be. The players themselves have gotten into a playstyle where if it's not easy, they don't want to try it.
You can always skip this materia ya know. The game doesn't suck because you can't get it.
I didnt run/dodge when I beat him.....just swap characters when he targets the one you're on. It's a lot easier. He will get a zantetsjken off once during the fight sure, revival earrings will take care of that.
I posted my strat here, it should be near the top if you want to try it in easy mode.
@@jayr7613but it is a bad game design a boss at its weakest lvl shouldn't one shot u especially when he doesn't have a glaring weakness to stop set one shot move the whole game plain is to basically spray and pray and if u can't get with the program u not using him
Thanks, dude
The running and dodging helped me alot. I was wondering why i couldn’t get away from his attacks
dodging with tifa is amazing !
Bro I’ve been telling myself to try to beat the summons in their most powerful state and they were brutal, but Odin is the first one I just bit the bullet and knocked the difficulty down for, matter of fact I put it all the way down to his weakest and I was feeling very humbled thereafter even still 😂 imagine my surprise for his OTHER encounter lmfao
That Odin mdf kills me everytime, good vid dude ;-)
Finally!!! Odin was pissing me off so badly because I was so focused on nailing that perfect block with Steadfast Block and Precision Defense and I just couldn’t get it done. But stacking Cloud, Tifa, and Barrett with Disempowerment and Enervation made quick work of Odin! Thank you!
Got Odin, thanks 🤙🏽
It took me about a dozen tries, but I managed to beat him yesterday, using Cloud, Tifa and Aerith. Aerith was near useless except for the Fireblade synergy attack. I used Cloud and Tifa to strike him fast, avoid his strikes, and using heavy attacks like dropkick and braver. Staggered him twice throughout the battle before he managed to charge Zantetsuken, finished him off with Ascension.
Aerith is God awful sub her for yuffie ull have a much better time
@@JamesBrown-xb7yi I'll keep that in mind for my 2nd play.
Aerith takes to much set up for the pay off
Aerith is pretty much useless as a fighter. I use her as primarly a healer to support the other two since her healing wind limit break is very helpful. Caste Haste on her, give her all the buffs for healing materia and pray materia,. so she keeps everyone's health up all the time.
@@yokiryuchan7655 try playing her with first strike and ATB boost. You can double ward at the start of fights. It’s pretty neat
I will argue that Yuffie is the better long range fighter for this fight:
1) This is because she can spam 1 ATB for a long range ability attack and save one if she has two. Barret must use both ATB for his long range attacks.
2) She has better agility than Barret making it easier to dodge.
3) If there are moments you think you cannot dodge with movement, if you have 1 ATB saved you can use Brumal Form to dodge it.
Huh? Which long ranged abillity attack by Yuffie?
Something to note, the one shot kill meter hit only counts when your in control of the character. Just before he does any kind of hit, switch character and it wont count towards his one shot kill move meter. Thats what helped me, i had reprive, but didn't end up needing it. All though i did a lot of dodging. Also remember to use your ATB attacks.
revival earring, plus save some limit break or synergy attack and let it all out on him when he starts Zantetsuken, as long as you can stagger him before he lets it out its not gonna happen and he wont use it for awhile after. i knocked him out of it twice without any of the intels.
Hey brother. I loved your commentary and walkthrough of this. When you said things about special education i was thinking this kid is smart and knowledgeable of the mechanics of the game. I was in special ed through my whole school career.
What I mean to say is you're smart and very knowledgeable. Don't degrade yourself.
Precision block materia & pairing your debuff materia with autocast. Bring Tifa with unique ability materia for big stagger boosts.
Just for the record, you were right about Yufi. I beat him in just over 4 minutes. Lol. I also had Alexander for high damage output and used his highest attacks with haste on my characters.
Using the phoenix summon materia is a must, rearise brings back another player after the insta kill move
I finally beat Odin but I had to turn the difficulty down to Easy. I also used Bahamat to attack him multiple times. What I did was as soon as the fight starts, use Cloud Plasma Discharge immediately. Then switch to Punisher mode and start attacking as fast as you can. As soon as you think Odin will attack, immediately stop what you're doing and hold the block button. Cloud will auto-counter any physical damage Odin throws at you. Then rapidly attack in Punisher mode again. Rinse and repeat.
Note: you will want to switch to the other two party members to build up their ATB to two bars. The reason is once you summon Bahamat, you can use the ATB from all the party members to attack with Bahamat. As soon as one character uses up the ATB to atttack with Bahamat, quickly switch to the next character and repeat the process.
The key in this fight is using Punisher mode and blocking, while Plasma Discharge is active.
Finally beat him ,use tifa omnistrike constantly with unbridled strength,i put a healimg materia on tifa ,hope this helps ,good luck
once you get him staggered, cast stop on him. that temporarily stops the regen of his stagger bar. during that time, switch to tifa and start spamming her omnistrike and youll increase his stagger % a bunch. then you can pretty much stomp anything you can stagger
It was tough. I found using tifa useful as she has the best regular dodge. Mostly used overpower as it comes out fast and chi trap. I had cloud mostly doing focus thrust especially during sleipners fervour. Yuffie was used to doppelgänger and then art of war. When I was successful the fight was fast but the key was not storing up much atb and using synergy when possible.
I dont know if you mentioned this in your video. I tried 20 times but no hope. But that bahamut summon helped a lot, i got 2 pressure when i pop him up.
I would recommend not worrying about the debuffs and focusing on the dodging. Dodging keeps him from using 1hit and the move where he puts buffs on pressures him. Use synergy attack when he's pressured to stagger him. Poof dead. I may be wrong but i think pressuring him reset his 1 hit ko timer.
Best ult for mercy would be a aoe Rez that would only give back 1/3 of health back instead of full health and perhaps a small dmg buff for like a couple of seconds for rezed members
This man really opened up with Gjallarhorn’s Warning before he even hit anybody. I could’ve actually finished that attempt if he used it normally. 🙃
Once he does that it's already over
@@tubby_1278 Which was the point, yes. Dude did it after hitting my squad once.
@@AzarathMetreon You wanna pressure him asap. Once he unleashes Sleipnir's furor or Lord of the Blade you're doing well
@@tubby_1278Gjallarhorn’s warning doesn’t mean it is already over. It means that you are doing badly and need to start using succesful atb on odin asap to avoid getting zantetsuken’d. You can turn gjallarhorn warning to sleipnir’s furor if you put enough pressure on him after he does the warning
Timed his one shot to my summons ending shot and easy peasy
I just beat him at full power with Cloud, Aerith, and Barret. I kept using focus thrust with cloud and had Aerith set with synergy and bio to keep him poisoned. I was able to summon Bahamut. Did a few synergy attacks. Used clouds limit break while Odin was staggered and spammed him with Braver. Beat him on my second try. He never used his ultimate move so I didn’t have to raise anyone.
Revival Earrings are your friend in this fight lol. Basically the goal here is to keep him from doing his finisher for as long as possible. When I beat him my party had almost no health left, Bahamut did gigaflare. which brought his health done enough for Tifa to finish him off with her limit break. Was so glad it was over because this guy was a huge pain. He will always do his finisher at least once. I can only dodge and counter him for so long, so the revival earrings help a lot.
I think this takes the cake for worst FF boss to fight of all time
I literally am 45 seconds into the match b4 he one hit KO my whole fkng party
Every time
Literally within the first minute
And im using Yuffie dodging all his hits and using the shuriken from far away
But he still fkn up the NPC and uses the One hit kill immediately .
Than I get on here and see ppl just easily win with Yuffie or Tifa
Bitch I have both of then in my party
I can't even build ATB before he wipes everybody
Lol feel u dude but it's very doable once u practice a bit :)
you have to pressure him with ATB skills , try using Tifa with haste , she's fast as fuck , and the short key moves are essential
oh and try using the focus synergy, it adds three bars of ATB
This fight is a dps check. This video gives mis information… do enough damage and he won’t use zan
Yes I agree totally
Like he said try to dodge his attacks. Have revival earrings. I had cloud with limit siphon and had him do 2 finishing touch and it was over. It was difficult tho
I used the summon to defeat him. I put bahamut on tifa and when she got defeated by his zentetsuken, bahamut disapears and deals big damage leaving the battle
SIMPLY SWAP CHARACTERS!!
Want a tip, bring in whoever you want as this Yuffie nonsense isn't even needed. However, Yuffie IS handy for her ability to build ATB from. Distance and quickly. Her Brumal form, or blindside are really irrelevant.
When Odin turns to even target the character you are controlling, immediately swap to someone else and continue your barrage. The AI controlled character will do all you need to get you through til the end.
Use revival earrings on the entire party in case of an accident
Equip bahamut and ensure he's cast when he's up
Keep debuffing Odin via deprotect, debrave..spells of that nature. Something detrimental, even bio helps.
Only use LB's when he's finally staggered. This goes for snyergy abilities too, or at least ensure you have one available for his stagger period, needs to be an offensive synergy.
If you THINK he's close to using Zantetsuken and your stagger gage is close, DONT stagger him until he tries to use it. He pauses for a bit so as long as you've gotten the gage close you can easily stop 1 zantetsuken and reset his hit counter. His pause is about 6 to 8 seconds. Again make sure the stagger gage is really close if you try this....
Does staggering not reset it?
I'm sorry, what a load of nonsense. He always hits the characters I am not controlling.
The synergy ability you should use it anytime you have it available because it's what will stagger him the fastest. Also if you don't use it when you get the chance, it will be too late when he one shot the entire party then you would have saved up the synergy ability for nothing.
@BradleyJ95 no he doesn't. ...the ai dodges quit well. You're not switching fast enough. Beat his solo fight and his duo fight so I kinda know what I'm talking about.
@VersionBest yes these work nicely also if you can weave them in between his attacks.
So, based on this "encouragement"...
Odin likes a good fight. He uses Zantetsukan, basically, because he's depressed. Because you suck. It isn't worth his time and he's going home.
DBZA Goku: "I'm bored. You're boring me."
My strategy was to equip revival earrings on all of my party so they all get revived and equip Phoenix and use the revival skill in case he decided to do his one hit again. That’s how I beat him
Literally can not do this. I have revival rings on everyone. Even have pheonix on as well because he always does the one hit kill twice, the stupid pheonix doesn't even revive when we all die again. I'm not understanding
@@josephturnage682 Must be different difficulty setting.
@Stephen-pe8hx ended up soloing it with cloud, made it a lot easier not having the rest of the AI party getting hit by him and causing him to use his ultimate
It's retarded that they cut the revival spell from the game just like reflect and all of the enemy skills like beta, big guard, white wind, magic hammer, trine, shadow flare, pandoras box... and many more. This demake is a joke.
They also nerfed the hell out of comet. It literally does no damage and costs about half your max mp which is also ridiculously low. In the original you could cast so many spells across many battles before needing to restore mp but in this demake you only cast literally a couple spells and you're out. You can't even use magic because of this and it just adds to the shit that ruined this demake.
I can say Odin will still use Zansetsuken even if you dodge his attacks, cause i tried to solo him as cloud, dodged all his stuff, attacked from far away using Cloud's air slashes, and he still did it, the only way to prevent him from using it is literally just being aggressive and attacking him with ATB attacks whenever possible, that's the only way i was able to beat him by himself, and with Alexander
This fight was actually easier for me with a solo character. I equipped Tifa with kaiser knuckles, garm bangle and a whistlewind scarf and attached reraise linked to magic efficiency, first strike ,bravery ,steadfast block ,precision defense, darkside, enemy skill w electric discharge and phoenix. her ability to quickly cancel out of her attacks to block made parrying nearly every attack kind of a joke.
Do you have a video on a Yuffie build? Or tifa?
Don't know if you've beaten it already as it's been 3 weeks since since your comment, but for me, the Yuffie build I had was
Lvl Boost - Enervation
Lvl Boost - Disempowerment
(unless both are fully maxed out)
Start the battle. Switch immediately to Yuffie, throw your weapon, and keep your distance. Wait until the first ATB charge, use Doppelganger, than continue the barrage until 2 charges are there, or if any one of your members have a charge (make sure both of them are equipped with enervation and disempowerment too) and use both spells on him, just nerf him overall. He'll eventually use Sleipnirs Furor, hell buff himself, but the debuffs take effect and he'll be open for pressure.
That's how I did it, I didn't use Tifa as I had Barret with me and Cloud, but that's what I can say
@@EvieNora aw thanks man! yeah i beat the game already but i'll keep note of this for hard mode
The Assess text is incorrect.
Debuffs and ATB will not lower the wipe meter, inflicting enough damage to him will, it's like Alatreon from Monster Hunter.
Thats tottally false what you are saying .. the assess text is describing about how to PRESSURE him (making him weak to stagger). the text tells you to use ATB commands (which can be debuffs, too) ..you need to hit him with ATB commandos.. so if you inflict damage you probably use abillity commandos and then he gets pressured.. try to not use any abillity in this match (just standard attack damage) and you wont get him pressured.. easy as that. I hit him several times with a debuff and he then got pressured.. the text is describing how to get him pressured.. and nothing more.
And when he uses Zantetsuken is dependand on how often you got hit.. and if he is pressured use focused attacks to stagger him quickly
GUYYYYYYS, EASY: JUST USE WEAKNESS DEBUFF AND SOMETHING ELSE + POISON, HE'S UNDER PRESSURE AND NEVER USE THE ATTACK, AND USE SURVIVAL EARRING IF BY CHANCE HE RELEASES 1X DURING THE BATTLE
What weakness debuff?
How did you stretch the fight out for 2 hours when he cast the ultimate death move in 2 minutes?
don't know if it's different for the brutal challenge odin, but debrave does NOT pressure odin during the brutal challenge. i debraved him 3 times and it did nothing. have not tried deprotect.
I beat him in easy mode using Cloud, Tifa and Barret and it was easy once you perform these two actions:
1. Keep casting de-brave and de-protect any chance you got. Stock up on ether
2. When he is about to strike you, the controlled player, immediately switch to the other players because that hit won’t count towards Zantetsuken.
Seriously once i got these hang of these two, it really felt too easy… even for the erm… other battle if you know what i mean.
You obviously don't have the game 😂😂 spewing nonsense
Well your tips helped me understand how to best this....luckily on his ultimate attack I was able to stagger him and put him down in that time.
Debuff him and avoid being hit. It will make the fight take longer but being hit will speed up his final attack
Poison works on his first stage, once he bring out the sword and the sword and spear poison stops affecting him
Watched countless vids and didn’t know that and was getting pissed when my bio wasn’t hitting. Thank you bro
Doing divine intel for Odin is pretty much pointless since he can one shot you. Feels like the Zantetsuken should be done when he has a 10%-5% health remaining. Or it could have been done like Odin in FF8 and have us try beat the clock against him.
Using Phoenix arise on all party members was helpful insurance as well
I beat him second try with Yuffie, Barret and Cloud. Use Yuffie as your main as she has the quickest evade and make sure everyone is equipped with revival earings to save yourself from his instant death move.
If you’re dead-set on getting Odin, just switch your difficulty to easy. I was struggling so much on normal mode, but I switched to easy and the fight was so much more doable.
Bro….i was on this shit for at LEAST an hour and a half and eventually seen your comment I was just like hold on a minute……switched that shit to easy and sure enough first try like it was nothing 🤦♂️🤦♂️ THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REMINDING ME OF A SIMPLE FEATURE LMAO don’t even care at this point that fight is complete bs it’s warranted
I would like to add that it is possible to poison him jus not a common thing
Some things are different. Even if you dodge all his attacks he will attack with his killing move. I dodged everything and he just attacked me one time after 38 Seconds. However i didnt do anyhting shown in this video except for using atb attacks. Unless to much time passes between your atb attacks Odin will not use his killing move. I fought him for five minutes and I did get hit a lot with his attacks, but he didnt use this one final attack. The decicive factor in this fight to use the right amount of atb attacks by not exceeding a certain time gap between them.
Ah one-shot that you can't dodge...they are so fun...
One thing that helped me alot is using the combination of Barretts Bonus round with maximum fury. That pairing does a decent amount of stagger damage. Then of course having tifa using dive kick and her other stagger damaging moves paired with unbridled strength and in between controlling Cloud and timing this jackasses moves.. pair all that and then switch to easy mode and you should be golden lol
So the debuffs were my biggest saving grace. I tried with reprieve and revival materia but I didn’t need it on the run that I won, either way when I did use it this mf’r kept resisting debuffs after the first zantetsuken so I couldn’t beat him even though he was so close to death friggin a hole.
If you beat him on easy and then switch back to normal, is there any difference in his damage when you summon him based on the difficulty you beat him on?
Summons are always Level synced to the party
Use Tifa and spam her ATBs, she is the best character to pressure in good
Simple Strategy
Stagger Odin then summon Phoenix & buff all party with reraise before Zantetsuken
My favorite party (lab rat party / ex-hojo lab 😂)
Cloud (Main damage bcz can do counter with punisher)
Red XIII (do some debuff, support and damage)
Aerith (Magic damage & Prayer Do 2-2.8k heal)❤
This match seems to be a atb use fight. If you dodge skills it doesn’t matter because eventually your other characters will get hit and they don’t precision block even with the materia extended window. Guaranteed loss if you don’t spam attacks
my record is 15secs and I haven't received any damage, nor any red bracelet from any of them, successfully land some attacks (for atb purposes) and he decided to Zantetsuken me which makes me think maybe I'm bugged already 😂... In that 15secs, i was thing what I did wrong other than waiting for ATB
Can Jump material help if used right before Zantetsuken?
Doesnt help :(. He just hits anyway.
just raise, reprieve and lots of revival earrings
how do u get reprieve
He inky had like 1/6 ho left. Did really well, thought i didnt rrally get hit near the end and boom: zantetsuken
FYI you can get the Disempowerment Materia & Earring so 2 people can use that spell for Debrave/Defaith. Don’t ask me where the location at 😂
Thank you! Omg this fight is BS!
I got beaten twice, after 30seconds in the fight, after damaging him like, i dont know 5% of his health bar. How unfair is that???
Just when I thought there couldn’t be anymore bs in this game. 😒
I want to love this game but this along with most of the mini games and side quests have made it such a tedious experience.
The side quests were all mostly great. It's some of the mini games that really burned me out quick on this game AND the protorelic missions
Nah fr I’m so fed up w this game it doesn’t even seem fun anymore
Wow, if ONLY we could skip nearly every minigame in this game! It's such a shame that getting 100% Of everything is a mandatory part of playing this game!
Can't even fight the final boss without the Platinum Trophy!
He hits me like 3 or 4 times and the death move comes out straight away. So not sure how your battle actually went on for so long!!
I used Yuffie & Red
How do you deal with reprisal? He does that whenever I go for an ability.
Idk bro but I just killed him easily by using clouds punisher and just simply blocking. Literally. That got him enough to pressure him.
He’s not that bad. Use cloud, tifa, and yuffie. All with revival earrings. Literally just rush him and keep switching characters to use their abilities. He never got his zantetsuken off.
So pretty much dodge dodge dodge, atb attack and debuff spam, pressure, stagger, and we can do our own thing with stagger phase haha.
I didn't get hit at all and i used cloud solo just to see, odin still uses his 1 hit kill. there are a few bosses I swear are programmed to auto win no matter what you do.
I can dodge all of his skills... Butt the problem is he hits the characters im not actively controlling and cast instant K.O skill anyway :(
Where’s Yojimbo when you need him? 😅
Yes he’s no joke. Just when you think your unkillable he reminds you ur not lol
I won the fight with Cloud, Tifa and Red using ATBs
😂 Got him to half a life bar on normal and he ended up one-shotting me. So I changed the difficulty to easy and less than 30 seconds into the fight he Zantetzukens me. I have a feeling I'll be stuck on this bastard for days.
Id rather face Baltheus on Armored Core 6 than Odin.
I dont understand why the game says its on easy, its the complete opposite, getting one shot 30 seconds into a fight is not fucking easy.
So why is your tip to reprise if Odin just instantly kills you right after that anyway? Shouldn't your tip be to NOT use reprise or revival earrings?
It doesn't matter what I do or how careful I am, he keeps using the party-wipe attack.
Edit: got him... Ironically enough, I only won because he tried using his BS party-killing move again, even though I had only Tifa alive with a sliver of health. If he had continued the fight normally, he would have won.
This fight is hard AF I still cant beat the MF'ER!
I read the assess and it basically says dodge all his attacks or else zantetsuken and use abilities to increase stagger I literally dodge all his attacks except for my team mates n he just does it anyways 😭
Same i gave up, don’t need this kind of bullshit.
Yep, I used decided to go in with Yuffie as solo and to abuse her Triangle attack + doppelgänger. Didn’t matter though, he doesn’t hit me a single time and still casts Zantetuken. Retarded fight imo and I typically love a challenging boss as per my love for FromSoft games
Lmao right
I play dynamic mode for the game, but switch to easy mode to beat odin 😂
The tips 🍆 🍆 🍆 odins reprisal counter is caused by getting hit by his pink aura skills. If a character gets hit with a pink skill they get pink bracelets - you can see this in game. This lasts about a minute until they go away - he will make atb skills straight up miss and hit you with reprisal if you try to attack with those characters that have pink bracelets. So if you happen to get pink bracelets - that character is pretty much relegated to support/heals until the pink bracelets go away. This is the biggest mistake people use and makes him use zantetsuken quicker because if you try to attack with a character that had pink bracelets he hits you more with reprisal. Use bonus round on barret first This will increase stagger a lottttt. He goes into slepnirs furor pressured state very quickly from Barrett’s auto attacks after using bonus round - and once pressured it only takes a few more seconds of auto attacks with bonus round to fully stagger him. Pressuring and staggering Odin resets his ‘hidden’ zantetsuken meter. So dump as much damage into him as you can to pressure and stagger before he casts gjallarhorn warning and zantetsuken. Save the limit breaks for temporal stop attack that he uses after 50% hp when room is divided. Limit break animation makes you completely invulnerable to damage and status effects and this is the only way to dodge odins unavoidable stop spell. Firaga (or other element thundaga/aeroga.. don’t use blizzaga it misses easily if he is moving) will interrupt his casting. If he is doing a difficult to dodge move towards the end of fight - cast firaga and it will stun him out of the castbar or attack animation. If just trying to kill him first time to get his summon materia use revival ear rings, reprieve like the video creator suggests but also bring phoenix materia for zero mp reraise. These are the most helpful tips I found after soloing Odin on full might difficulty on all characters killing him before a single zantetsuken with every character in the game.
Even if i avoid his attacks he still dose his warning and zentsukin this battle makes no sense
To me, personally, A lot of these bossfights arent fun... they are way complicated or want you to do things in small time windows while spamming interupting moves... most times i am just in a healing battle of attrition..
It’s not that they are super difficult or complex they are simple like way too simple after Titan it’s all gimmick fights you learn what the gimmick is and boom just get through it the bull is way more annoying basically forces you to play a magic build on at least one person
The only difficult one is this one lol
@@darshio8307even in Easy mode its super hard
Odin is meant to be hardcore.. since he is often a rare summon in FF which you can even miss to get..
@@Coldsilfur4 he’s not that bad just that on the hardest difficulty it’s scaled to your level
My strat
Cloud
Barret
Yuffie
Revival earrings on all
Pheonix materia
Barret
Bonus round, overcharge, at 2 bars maximum fury.
I dont dodge. Limits do insane damage on odin.
I managed to stagger him before his first instant death, cast fire bird, and finish him before he cast it again with just fire in the hole and cross slash using maximum fury and bonus round. Barret is awesome. Tifa would have staggered more easily but still!
I was so lucky today. beat him second try with revival ear rings. he didn‘t do the attack twice so i could fully heal my party and unleashed 3 limit breaks on him.
Normal Difficulty
Party: Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie all around level 50
Where's Seifer when you need him...
Oh wait...
