I’ve seen a few of these swaps and it really is a great budget svo swap. For a 4 cylinder, they actually have a fair amount of torque. It didn’t have the notoriety of the v8, but for the price difference, it’s an awesomely fun engine.

I don’t drift it hard, but I’ve slid around a few corners & I’ve never felt like I wasn’t in control. I love having it as a daily & hope to move into a V8 platform in the future.
Love seeing an eco pop up in a video like this as a former eco owner. Like many I did end up upgrading to a GT, namely despite the Eco feeling more light weight, without it being able to rev up top due to the smaller motor and all the heatsoak issues from the boost (for those that don't know it shoves 20+ psi of boost into your engine, ie lots of hot air for the tiny stock IC), and the fact I still live in an apartment complex and couldn't get in anywhere to do the necessary mods to resolve those key issues were the driving factors for me to bump up to a GT. Eco's are formidable in the right hands and are by no means a downgrade to their GT big brothers, unfortunately what I wanted in my "I need to do everything" sports car, going to the GT was the smarter/easier decision. Great vid as always though, I want to see what happens to both lap times when they get real sticky boy track rubber though. Well maybe for the Spec-5 it won't help much given how much power its outputting, but the eco will be interesting to see at the very least.

Also eco owner and I have FBO with Cobb tune and have not ran into heat soak issues but that’s not to say they’re not possible. I’m very impressed with the performance of the 4cyl and my only wish was it’s sound, just a note or two deeper would make all the difference but can’t complain over all for its not the worst sounding 4cyl.
@@POVwithRCaside from the sounds the gt makes it’s actually not really that much of a different car. Obviously the 5.0 has more potential but it’s not like the eco can’t be modded to keep up with v8’s. But if you put those same mods on a v8 then it’s no competition. It has a lot of low end punchy torque so it’s not really a downgrade from a dig 😂
