I use bb creams with a dry sponge, get much better coverage..however, this looks like a pretty dry formula for a beautiful balm product.Loving your hair Shelly..brings out your beautiful green eyes.😊

I had hopes for this one, as some of their older "BB cream" releases were pretty darn nice. Sadly, it looks like a pass for me, Shelly, but thanks for presenting it so we can make an informed decision. (BTW I recently re-watched your older vid on the Mizon Snail Repair Intensive BB Cream, and was inspired to purchase. The Mizon product is just *beautiful!* So, thanks for that, too!). I had to smile when you said your skin doesn't produce oil, boy am I on that bus, too; if I had to depend upon "oil breakthrough" I'd be doomed. Great to see you, great video, and of course, a Ziva cameo. My day is complete!

I am turning 53 this week. I have dry sensitive skin. I used to use the Estee Lauder Double wear unti it was discontinued a few years ago. The only one I use now is the It Cosmetics CC cream. I have to mix 2 together to get the right shade. It doesn't settle in any fine lines and it is build able if I need extra coverage. I can't use anything that is labeled mat on my skin.
The IT CC cream is excellent. I just don't have a shade match in IT complexion products (and it's far enough off that I don't enjoy wearing them). I did a test of the IT on a super-hot humid day chasing Pokemon when Pokemon Go first came out and it held up phenomenally lol.

Ouch for me with the Mica in the ingredients. I have discovered I’m sensitive to mica. Odd that I’m not even seeing any shimmer on your skin from it! It will be a “no” for me even before seeing your opinions! Thanks for the review💙
Matte foundation is a big no for me and my dry/mature skin. It just accentuates texture, wrinkles and pores. 🙁 The coverage on this looks pretty minimal.
I think the MOB Beauty is for sure a better fit. You look beautiful as always!! ❤

I think if you had used a hydrating primer regardless if it said it had primer in it. You know your skin. So would you please try it again with a hydrating primer and see if you have different results? Remember, prepping is everything. Thank you for sharing. Loving the hair.💕

I am impressed with the package, it comes off as lux. Opinion on this used with an oil for primer like thorn oil? Do you think it would serve as enough of an offset of the drying nature?

It might be - and PF actually has a facial oil primer (that I think also has sunscreen in it if I remember correctly) that is really nice. I'll have to try them together!

First-time viewer! I just got this product as an impulse buy and had no idea what its reputation was. Your review came up first! I've tried it a few times, and it honestly feels like a glowy tinted moisturizer. I kind of like it, but it's more of a no-makeup makeup look on me. The liquid blush is nice, too. I guess my skin isn't that dry, but it gets more so as I age (47). How's your knee, by the way?

You described my skin! What have you found to work the best on your dry dehydrated face? I have tried so many products that find every pore and line on my face 😢so far the Missha is best. Just curious what your go to is? Even products that claim to be hydrating blah blah just don’t work. Love your videos!

The Missha is definitely excellent so if you're loving it, you're in a good spot! I'd say right now my top foundations are Nars Light Reflecting, Guerlain Terracotta, and Haus Labs. But anything graded A- or higher in my spreadsheet is likely in regular rotation here.

I forgot to ask you, between the Jones Road or the PF powders, which one do you prefer? I usually don't wear powder but I'm looking for one that doesn't suck the life out of my skin 😆 or any other recommendation?... thnx!
My first instinct would be to say the Jones Road powder but probably because I've just used it a whole lot more to know it hasn't failed me with a variety of products and situations. The PF may end up being reliable as well. The powders these days are really surprising me.
Shelly, what is the difference between dry and dehydrated skin? I know my skin is dry, but how do I know if it's dehydrated? Do you treat these two things the same or differently? I was going to get this BB cream, but now I won't. Thank you for helping me decide!!!!!! You look beautiful as always!
Typically dry skin is skin that does not produce enough oil, and dehydrated skin is skin that is not retaining enough water/moisture. You can be either one or in my case, both! I feel like dehydrated skin is more of a constant struggle than dry skin for anyone in a less humid climate because the water just. won't. stay. in. the. skin. ugh! lol and I don't want to say this too loud lest the universe punish me but I am almost glad I have dry skin because it seems like having combo or oily skin would be much more of a daily struggle, where I can just maintain a solid moisturizer/facial oil routine and keep the dry skin pretty well under control. But when it's dehydrated, it looks more textured and has more fine lines and looks more saggy and hollow and just yuck. When I slack on 7 skins, that's slacking on re-hydration.

Think I'll stick with my elf. I was considering it so thanks for the saving. Hope you had a great Christmas. I told the "kids" that I wasn't buying individual presents. We've had a really tough few years and I figure we need a lot of fun to get us through. I bought a steel tongue drum, pull whistles, kazoos (bought half dozen and extras got handed out at an impromptu house party! We had a kazoo mini orchestra!), a melodica and a karimba. God love the neighbours! Some weird sounds coming out of our house. I guess it was a good investment 😊

Just realized- it seemed like your undercut grew out so fast! I cut my own hair, and have to shave my undercut monthly or it goes bonkers. I have insane cowlicks.
Yeah this was like 12 weeks since my last appointment and it grew out like weeds!!
I used to love Maybelline's Dream Fresh (mineral) BB cream for light coverage over my tinted mineral SPF. The textures were perfect together, until it seemed Maybelline changed their colors. I was hoping this BB by Physicians' Formula might be the answer, but I can't put a dry finish over the dryish finish of the SPF, no matter how much moisture I put under everything. The Missha BB has good coverage and a decent cool-toned shade range, but the fragrance is...whew! So guess I'll try playing with two shades of the Maybelline, before they discontinue this one. It's a great product for every aspect but the shade range. I wonder if you've tried the Maybelline? Thanks for this video - your closeups are great!
I would highly suggest trying out the Purito Cica Clearing BB cream! It's essential oil and fragrance free and very similar to the Missha; it can go high coverage but it can also be sheered out, and it's just a lovely finish. If you want a super affordable and more easily available alternative, you can't go wrong with Wet N' Wild's Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator; I can personally vouch for this one, it also looks beautiful and is very comfortable.
I didn't have good luck with the Maybelline but I totally agree with what threadsketch suggested!!

I have heard ppl say the bb cream has glitter in it. Did you find this to be true ?
I can't see any but I've heard that as well (and it would fit in with the whole shtick). It's not large or obvious glitter if there is.
Shelly- do you take electrolytes? That may help your skin ( and the rest of your body tissues) retain the much needed hydration - especially during these drier winter months . I usually suffer all winter long with dry skin- the only thing I have really changed is that I drink my electrolytes- I had not thought about it until recently.
Anywho, just food for thought.

I slack off on them! It's better when I'm teaching because I carry electrolyte water with me everywhere but on breaks I'm not nearly as good about keeping the water bottle with me.

It baffles me too - I am thinking a lot of brands have switched from using that term in reference to the finish to using it to suggest a longer-term result from whatever drop of skin care ingredients they put in there.

Hi Shelly, bless your 💜, thank goodness you didn’t pass out sweetie. So sorry that happened to you. Ouch 😓. I too have severe dehydrated skin and dry. I truly have more issues with my skin now after using great skincare for 3 yrs. 🤷🏼♀️🤦♀️😓🙃🧑🦲. I applied my use to be No7 lift and luminate foundation and it left the polka dot pores on my face. Grrr yep had to wash my face and am now no longer using foundation. I have given up. I even apply a really nice oil on my face and under my eyes which my concealer goes on really pretty with the tiny amnt of oil I apply. But do not understand why our foundations give us that horrible look? Help. So glad I found you. So much enjoy spending time with you. Thank you and enjoy your weekend
