I feel like the prices for Emerald Cruises are actually fairly reasonable - considering how destination intensive their itineraries are and what you get. I like this format of video
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, we were also surprised at the deals you can pick up which really puts it in reach of premium cruisers. 😊
That's a beautiful ship. 😇 I'd probably just stay onboard and look at the view, enjoy a cocktail or three, have a little snack, let the heat and sounds of the sea become my lullaby.... and fall asleep in the shade somewhere. Oh! And sometimes I'd wander around in the pool or sit in that sauna and let it take away any aches and pains. Pure bliss! 🥰
Sounds like heaven 😍
This experience really does look fantastic. Price-wise, I'm seeing some excellent prices for these guys coming in currently - surprisingly low for such a premium product.
Those suites you shared about 19 minutes in look absolutely unreal - I can't even imagine how lovely it would be cruising in one of them!
Thanks Fraser. Yes, that’s why we never quote prices or give an opinion on price because deals change by the day and sometimes you can really pick up a bargain. 😀👌
Thank you guys for another informative and enjoyable cruise review. We are booked to sail on Sakara in 2026, 2 weeks of Caribbean island hopping. We are beyond excited and having just seen how much you loved it, we just might burst with excitement! We used Panache and are very impressed with the service and how hard they work to find an attractive offering. Looking forward to your 2024 cruise videos.
Thanks guys. Yes, we wouldn’t enthuse about a cruise unless we really enjoyed it and were confident others would too. Some say we’re not harsh enough but my reply is always ‘we don’t choose to go on cruises we might not like or have a bad rep’. 👌😊
So lovely to see a different more intimate side to cruising and to hear that there were fellow solo traveler’s on board too.
Thanks for watching 👍
The best small ship cruise we’ve ever done was on the True North around the jaw dropping Kimberley, Western Australia. Absolutely worth doing! I’d love to see you both do this cruise through the land so old that the rocks contain no fossils because they predate life on Earth.
We would love to do an expedition cruise to Kimberley. We did do a Princess cruise around Australia last year (videos aren’t done yet!) so we did some scenic sailing along this magnificent coastline and stopped at Kuri Bay, both of which were amazing, but we’ve love to spend more time there.
Thanks for watching.
That’s just my cup of tea. Looks wonderful. I need to get on that ship. Cheers guys. Matt from Sheffield. 🛳️👍😀
Thanks Matt ☺️
finally, a great complete, inclusive video. I have found that there is laundry facilities, entertainment, gluten free options - this is a great video. I board the Sakara in a few weeks and am even more enthused after watching this video
Thank you so much for watching and your kind comment. Were docked in Antigua today with the Sakara (we’re on the Silver Nova) and she looks gorgeous ❤️
Thanks Rich and Helen. I was on that cruise with you (part of the Panache group) and you've brought it to life again, especially as I'm in some of your shots. It was my first ever cruise and I loved it. In fact I haven’t stopped talking about it! Obviously I can't compare it to other cruises but, in my opinion, all the crew on board were so friendly and helpful, my cabin was really comfortable and well laid out with plenty of room, the choice of food was good and the excursions were amazing, especially Mopion Island. Whilst on board I treated myself to a couple of massages which were so relaxing and not too expensive and, each morning, I participated in the yoga, usually on the observation deck.
Thanks also for your advice on other cruises. Not booked anything yet but definitely thinking about it.
Hello Carole. How lovely to hear from you. So glad you enjoyed the video. Wasn’t it a great experience?
Hopefully see you on another Founders cruise in the near future 👍
Fantastic video. Please keep doing these great videos. 👍
Thanks, will do 😁👍
Oh my goodness! The veranda on your suite is amazing! Thanks for the look.
It was pretty impressive 😍
Thanks for watching ☺️
Lovely video guys. This ship is just gorgeous, I couldn’t stop looking at it from our balcony on Arvia when we were berthed adjacent to her. She’s an absolute stunner and hopefully one day we’ll get the chance to sail on her. G&Mx
Thanks guys.
It was a great cruise and a more unusual way to cruise the Caribbean. Hope you get the opportunity to sail on her one day 👍
It's crazy, I'm living in Canada and was looking at doing a cruise on a small ship. My first pick was emerald cruise, I select your video first and would you know it, im originally from Bequia!!! I loved boating through the Grenadines. Happy to see you enjoyed my country for me.
We LOVE Bequia and have been there a few times now. We especially enjoyed visiting it on the Azzurra and Ponant’s Le Dumont d’Urville 👍
Thanks for watching 😊
We have only ever done river cruises - all Emerald. We like the brand; good value and quality in all respects. Such a beautiful looking ship. Liked the dual presentation of this one. Take care on your India trip. Look forward to your videos from that trip.
Thanks Nik 👍
What a beautiful yacht!!! #goals ❤
🤞🤞🤞
Thanks for watching ☺️
What a beautiful trip!
It really was 😍
Thanks for watching 👍
Very cool 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It was! Thanks for watching 👍
A wonderful experience
Yes it was😍
Thank you Tony ☺️
Thank you!, you do wonderful videos!
Thank you ☺️
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you! 😊
Thanks for the video, it took me back to August when I was onboard with Emma, We loved it. We docked alongside in only one port, all the other ports we tendered. We never go on the tender in the way you did, we always got on from the rear deck area, climbing on through the side entrance of the tender in a more conventional way. Glad you got a chance to use the water toys, we missed doing that due to it being rather choppy seas
Thanks for watching Paul. She was a beautiful ship and shame you missed the water toys. Maybe next time eh? 🥂😀
I was in the Caribbean a few weeks ago on the SeaDream I and Sakara was in the same ports. We were all extremely curious about it, so this is a wonderful review. Wow! What did you think about the bars and restaurants? I really like having drinks and meals outside. Is that possible on this ship?
Indeed there is. There is a large outdoor terrace at the back of the restaurant with plenty of tables for enjoying breakfast, lunch or dinner alfresco, as well as the pool deck which serves a light breakfast and lunch option. We very much enjoyed the food. Though the option were obvious limited due to the size of the ship, we thought the meals were very good indeed. We loved our overall Emerald Azzurra experience and wouldn’t hesitate to sail on her again ❤️
I like the big ships for their height and loftiness. Depending on the ship, I suppose. But there is something personable and intimate about the perspective and eye-line of a small ship like this. I could get used to that. And the window-like plexiglass at the stern infinity sort of looking pool is how it was probably intended on the Discovery Princess. It has been badly scuffed up aboard that poor ship.
We're booked on Azzura in 2025 for 14 days from Athens to Venice, and being a small ship she goes through the Corinth Canal and docks directly in Venice (now closed to larger ships). You missed the cabin grade we're in, Deluxe Balcony Suite which are behind each of the Owner's Suites. The Deluxe Balcony Suites are the only ones with two rooms which is why we booked it as mother and son travelling together.
Wow, the Corinth Canal! We’re experiencing that later this year but on Azzurra it will be fabulous! We didn’t have access to the suite you’re booked in but rest assured it will be just the thing for you and your son. 😊👌
Rich you are going to have to do the equivalent of a Berlitz guide to Gyms on cruise ships. It won't be a best seller but you will have fellow travellers.
Haha, don’t encourage him Brian, he’d love to do that (if he didn’t already have a backlog of videos to do 😆). Helen
Would you choose this over Silversea? Also, have you tried Scenic Eclipse? Thanks guys x
No, we haven’t been on Scenic Eclipse yet, though we would love to - hopefully some time soon 🤞
We have never sailed on the smaller Silversea ships which would probably be more comparable to the Azzurra. With regard to the likes of Spirit, Moon, Dawn etc the Azzurra is quite different merely due to the size difference. We loved both but Azzurra is a very much more intimate experience so it depends if that’s something you’re looking for. Obviously much more choice for dining, entertainment on Silversea, again because of the size. Please let us know if you have any specific questions we can answer for you.
Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks for a great review. A bit hesitant about a single 'dining choice' for a 7 might cruise. Any repeat of menu's each night?
Thanks for watching ☺️
No repeats on our seven night cruise. While there’s obviously a limited choice of dining options we never struggled to find something to eat off of the regular menu 👍
Hi, what grade cabin did you have, i was interested in a Terrace Suite?
We were in the Yacht suite which is the deck above the Terrace suite and is very similar. They both have big balconies but the Terrace suite is slightly smaller internally than the Yacht suite. We loved the Yacht suite btw 😍
I think the ship looked lovely and the food for this fussy eater it seemed I could eat almost anything served - and that’s rare for me.
It was great food. But food is very subjective. 🙂
We already booked our two week Ponant cruise for this next Xmas, but do you have a preference between two ships/experences?
Ponant is bigger overall so does have a little bit more to offer in terms of dining and entertainment etc
We liked them both and wouldn’t hesitate to do either again (would probably come down to itinerary and cost) 👍
This line or seaborn which did you prefer?
How would you compare this to seaborn?
Which one did you like better seaborn or this cruise? What about the food ?
Completely different products so hard to compare. We enjoyed this one for the personal service and ability to call at smaller islands but Seabourn had more choice re: dining, entertainment etc.
What about in room food service?
Yes, it’s available from the dining room.
Price point compared to RSSC and Silversea?
It depends on itinerary etc so will depend on when/where you want to go. The ship is quite different to RSSC and Silversea as it’s more of a small luxury yacht experience. For the cruise we were on the entry level suites were about £3500pp.
Thanks a lot for your review. A 4 year old on board? Is that fair to the other guests or even the child?
Thanks for watching. The 4 year old had the most perfect time as did the other guests. No unfairness to either. 🙂
Looks beautiful but your report is annoying - stop talking to each other and look at the camera
Sorry about that. We deliberately wanted the ‘conversational style’ with this one. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Never ever apologize for respecting one another! You are also looking at the camera. Not everyone has that type of mutual respect in their relationships.!
