What type of grout did you use? I have the same pebbles from Floor and Decor and I'm curious as to what is the best grout to use for waterproofing and non-staining or should I use a sealer too?
I know it's been awhile since your post, but about to do the same, I'm going to use Miracle porous plus sealant, then use laticrete spectralock 1 for the grout.. What did you use yourself, and how is it holding up? Any stains or issues? TIA
totally unnecessary , you can fit together sheets by slightly trimming certain pieces on the edges of sheets . dry lay first and fit sheets together which may require rotating sheets to fit. sometimes to get a tight fit one particular edge tile may be a bit to big, so just nip or trim that piece to fit. if done correctly you can pre measure the entire shower floor before even mixing thinset, then spread the entire floor in one shot and install ( if the shower floor is to long to reach it might take 2 sections) by doing this its also less messy because starting and stopping you have much more of a chance to bunch up the thinset against the previous edges creating much more clean up...its like a backsplash, i see so many where they just start tiling and then as the thinset is drying, they start doing their cuts. theres no reason a professional cannot pre cut large areas first, this way its ready to go in after you spread the thinset, its just a matter of measuring .
IMO, i think when you cut river rock mosaics or any other mosaics for that matter it doesn't look professional at all, and after you grout in, it'll stick out like a sore thumb and make your tile job look sub-par.. just my thoughts, especially around the wall perimeters.
Kim holland I'm on CZcams looking for this exact tutorial. The pebble tile I bought is not interlocking.( not the same pattern) so individual tiles must be placed to break up the grout line between sheets of tile
What product are you using for thin set mortar? And is the substrate fiberglass or something else?
